The Technician called the loss to Clemson was “embarrassing”. The scoreboard folks topped their embarassing cartoons with a “mexi-cam”. I had left the game by that point, but it is troubling, if true.
TBJ: Universities Ramp up Athletic Fundraisers
The TBJ has posted an article on their website about Duke’s goal to increase their endowment. A couple quotes in the article from Bobby Purcell. Coffman’s point is easily illustrated by Duke’s archrival just a few miles down U.S. 15-501. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s athletic scholarship endowment is worth about $117 […]
The USC Lovefest Gets Worse
I never thought it possible that the media could love USC more, but it’s happened. And why? Because they almost, no make that should have, lost another game. Now the “Greatest Offense Everâ€? supposedly scripted a comeback win in the “Greatest Game Everâ€?. I fully expect that if USC does lose a game the headlines […]
System Check: Colors Fixed, Comments Fixed
We figure that a lot of you were wondering was was going on with the various colors of the blog, and not being able to make comments. We seem to have all of that fixed. We also have a new email address statefans at gmail.com. Feel free to drop us an email, and we are […]
2005.10.17: Monday Bytes
This is going to be a “fun” week. Lots of pain…lots of frustration…and lots of dissension in NC State world right now. Let’s take a quick look around some related issues that aren’t so directly focused on the current state of Wolfpack Football for a little breather. ===> As any Wolfpacker would feel — I […]
ACC Officials Proven Worst
No surprise here. But, we’ve got some “news” that you already knew… …the Atlantic Coast Conference is home to the worst officials in the country as now proven by instant replay. All fans of all schools think that their officials are “the worst”; it is just the nature of being a fan. But, fans of […]
Two Perspectives on Thursday’s Crowd
Not to beat a dead horse, but Lee Fowler’s open letter was ridiculous both substantively and procedurally. From a substantive standpoint, it’s pure blather. Mr. “I know basketball, and football too, I guess” points to football facilities that “we might not even have” if not for Chuck Amato. As a friend pointed out, most of […]
Noel Mazzone Revisited
Ole Miss is surprisingly sticking close to SFN’s 6th rated Alabama. Of course, this is due in large part to defense, not Noel Mazzone’s offense. In fact, here is a sequence that NC State fans will find familiar. Down 10-7, the Rebels face 3rd and goal from the Tide 3. Ole Miss proceeds to get […]
Fowler: Shut Up, Clap & Be Happy
I don’t even know where to begin. You can read “Coach” Fowler’s letter by clicking here.
Return to Meltdown
One might hope that, despite the somewhat fluky nature of State’s win last Thursday in Atlanta, it was still a win the Pack could build on. Get some positive momentum, come out fired up and deliver a win for the long-suffering home crowd that hadn’t seen a home ACC win since a 2004 OT triumph […]
