Really CBS? You f*****g asshats – you have to show a little 8 year old girl crying until she hides herself from the camera?

Yikes. Have to wonder how that kinda thing happens.

For as much as UK and Cheats fans hate each other I think it has a lot to do with familiarity breeding contempt.

George Steinbreiner loved him some Tar-Holes…

Yes he did … about all of his progeny attended the Institution for Cheats.

All the bandwagoners blur together for me.

    Hahaha yep

Ply, I’ve got some extended family who are HUGE Packers fans … but huge Holes fans too. My dad hates the Packers b/c of them hahaha

Is it strange that I would associate the Cowboys more with the Holes rather than Duke?

Romo, Witten, and Garrett apparently love themselves some Duke though.

Gonzaga took the lead and then shot four consecutive 3-pointers … college kids, man

Am I crazy or are they getting that out of bounds call wrong? The Zag player is already out, so essentially he’s like a chair or any other “out” object, right? I’ve seen that call numerous times in the tourney.

    Tbh, I don’t know

Why can’t we have two 20 game basketball seasons a year instead of just one 31 game season ?

Well, technically UK will get to game 40 if they make it to Monday night 🙂

Zags tie it up early in the 2nd half …

All of a sudden I feel like putting ‘Moonraker‘ in the dvd player after this game.

Now that the Pack’s run is over, I feel fine admitting this:

I was convinced our run would end today in the regional final. I thought they would get past Louisville – and really Pitino and that team deserve accolades for getting to a regional final – but the stage fright and fatigue would do State in.

We just got stopped by a team that finally started playing to its strengths at the very end of the season – one step earlier than I thought.

Also, playing basketball in these Space Domes is awful.

The games are terrible, nobody can shoot, and the atmosphere is sucked to space. Good call, NCAA.

    Hello gang.

Jeremy – I re-watched Pack-Cards at the Yum! earlier this week. The Fightin’ Yum!’s did deploy their match-up zone, but we busted it up pretty good in the spots they used it. Because of the physical D that the dearly departed Chris Jones was allowed to play on Barber in that first game, Cardinals went man most of the contest. Barber just simply controlled the game.

Some other contrasts from that first game – our interior vastly outplayed their interior, and our defense/rebounding really helped to win that game. Also, Caleb had 10 points and 10 boards in that first match up. Both Caleb and Ralston hit 3’s when the Fightin’ Yum!’s went into a match-up zone.

Their defense combined with Barber’s sickness (I’m convinced that the Internet Gestapo stressed him out during the week b/c he used a curse word with ‘glorious leader’s name involved) definitely won the Sweet 16 match. Lacey played his ass off, Ralston was pretty good, but ultimately we shot the shots that the Yum!’s wanted us to shoot. Our interior was nullified on the boards and on offense. Plus, their offense is vastly superior with Snider in over Jones … they killed us on the interior with dribble penetration and easier shots. There’s no way Snider could stop even a sick Cat in man D, so the match-up zone was the clear choice.

I’m positive we prepared for it … I think this a ‘tip the cap’ moment.

I wonder who Verne’s pulling for tonight?

Perhaps more important, who will Verne pull for in his game tomorrow? There’s so much over the top narrative and ‘talking points’ it might be impossible to choose between Sparty-Cardinals. About the only thing that is certain is that the Izzo-Pitino slurpfest will be strong and never ending.

No offense is intended to anyone at all, but we’ve kind of gone off the rails some here.

I hope everyone is ok with me closing this one down.

I mean this in the best way possible: that was one hell of a roller coaster.

It was a lot of fun.

The best part about it to me was seeing these kids come together as a team. It didn’t always work out with victories, but this was one of the more truly ‘together’ teams that I can remember. A group of really likable, unselfish guys.

‘They’ can say whatever they want to (and ‘they’ always do), but ‘they’ can’t change facts: this team beat Duke, WON AT THE HOUSE OF EVIL (Cheat Dome), and beat a #1 seed in a memorable NCAA tourney run. Regardless of what else happened along the way, that’s a hell of a year for a program that hasn’t had that combination of success in over 30 years.

I truly thank this team and staff for this past season. The future begins now … Let’s get back to work.

    Go Pack

Anyone else listening to Gottfried’s postgame presser? Did I hear correctly that he said Cat was up all night sick/vomiting?

Freaking Internet Gestapo worked on him.
