ParticipantIt is to our advantage for UVa to win out and Dook to finish second wrt tiebreakers.
11-7 conference record will almost certainly get us the 4 seed. I don’t think that will happen, but just in case.

ParticipantIt’s not exactly funny, but man is Malik Abu a fantastic representative of NC State University and his faith community. Also a man of his word!
Back on teh funny, a photo collage of “The Many Game Faces of Our Beloved King Hippo” would be a treasured keepsake.
Agreed on Abu. He has his head screwed on right and he knows who he is. Looks like a top notch kid.

ParticipantYou could tell from the bear hug last night how much the win meant to Whit and how much it means to him to have been welcomed back into the program by Gott.

ParticipantI think we would have to win out, up to and maybe wining the ACC title game to get a 5 seed….not sure where that comes from.
If we won the ACC Tournament after winning out we would be 23 or 24 and 11. I’m still not sure that scenario, which is several galaxies beyond wildly optimistic, would get us a Top 20 RPI. Unless we make the ACC Finals, we may well be at our high water mark in the RPI.
I’ll repeat what I said in the “offensive” thread, we now have an opportunity to close the deal. The boys in Vegas won’t have a point spread on any of these games wider than 4-5 points and we should be the underdog in Littlejohn by a point or two.
This is a tough stretch with the only home game coming against a Syracuse team that is playing it’s best ball right now and will be putting guys out on the court who KNOW they are playing in their final college game.

ParticipantToo bad we have people in diapers reading this site. I listened to innuendo about “V” running a crooked program for years in the aftermath of his death. These things were said even though there was a full report on our infractions available for all to read, that clearly told a different story. A lot of that has faded with Jimmy V Week and such.
Dean Smith was an outstanding basketball coach, that is not open for discussion. By all accounts from his players he was a good man as well. In the aftermath of his passing, he has gotten a complete pass for his establishment of a corrupt system that granted his teams a serious competitive advantage for years. The one comment made in parallel to the long running joke about V selling our souls for the ’83 Title was nothing that should have offended anyone who has any knowledge of these two schools and their histories. I found it ironic that this “controversy” fired up just days after the Outrage thread.
As for the game, it was a classic. Our work on the boards, and BJ Anya’s ownership of the paint on defense were beautiful. Cat Barber looked like a leader; a poised, confident, talented leader. Turner and Lacey made enough plays at the right times to keep the opposition at bay. All this does is give us an opportunity to close the deal and make for a boring, non-suspenseful Selection Sunday. Go Pack! Beat BC

ParticipantPerfect headline. Shine the light and let the cockroaches scatter. Outstanding win. Still have work to do.

ParticipantGottfried on postgame wants Pack fans to have a toast w/ the team @ 11:30pm when they get back lollllllll
May have to walk to the gas station for a cold one in honor of Gott’s invitation.

ParticipantWhit with the bear hug on Gott. Why is he hugging that moron that called all of those timeouts and can’t coach?

ParticipantInteresting replay of Meeks over the back. ESPN3 was locked up for the live shot. The call has come from Greensboro.

ParticipantWe can’t win this game settling on 3’s. Too much standing around.
Frenchie moves well without the ball. We lose some of that with Anya.
Texpack
ParticipantAbu is getting Washington’s minutes in more ways than one.
Texpack
ParticipantNice opening other than the Frenchie fouls. Cat looks focused. Anya looks big. BSW looks lost on D.

ParticipantI wonder if Texas chokes their way back into the NIT…does Rick Barnes quasi-voluntarily retire?
There have been some rumbling about that in Austin of late. He’s safe for another year.

ParticipantThe game is on local TV in Houston tonight. I of course am in Mobilehoma and will rely on ESPN3.

ParticipantI’ve been feeling this one for some reason. I am also a pessimist by nature but I keep hearing Rock The Casbah playing from the Owen Underground after The Nose got us back in that game with a double technical just before the half. Can’t wait for tipoff.

ParticipantOregon displaced Stanford in Lunardi’s Last Four In. We were at the top of that list.
We have a really tough stretch to get through. All four of these games are ones we could lose. When I see the 3-1 talk I think to my self that would mean 1-6 (with the one win being GT) followed by 5-1. That’s why I won’t be comfortable with our spot until the morning after Selection Sunday.

ParticipantUW vs Wazzu is mediocre basketball but they have a really weak peanut gallery located right behind the announcers. Every lame heckle and all 74 BS chants have been picked up clear as day. That has been entertaining.

Participant^Yeah, big wins for bubble teams this weekend. Utah not dead, but not looking good at the moment.
On my trip to very tasty and healthy Taco Bell just a minute ago, heard on the radio that Louisville has dismissed Chris Jones from the team. Damn. Their stock is plummeting.
Just saw that. Very curious to get dismissed after your first game back from suspension. This will at least give the committee the opportunity to up value our win if they do go in the dumper from here out.

ParticipantI think we have been a better team with KW sitting. His decision making is a killer. He is a weaker rebounder and defender than Freeman as well. Is only plus is offense. Kid has great effort and attitude and once he learns to play under control more and understand situations he can be a plus player for us. Until then I like the way the minutes have gone in the last two games.

ParticipantNice victory for the Wolfpack Women
10-10 from the line to close it out. 76% as a TEAM for the season. This is why missed FTs drive me crazy.
