    redisgood: Big Men…

Good grief, this is what has me so frustrated. 10 games into their second year (well, not Abu) and the bigs’ progress is
    so
    slow.

Howell and Leslie looked so good in the High Post offense, how come these guys aren’t really contributing 1/4 of the way through their 2nd year?

Still cheering, mind you. Just wondering.

    GO PACK

So far, this report is shaping up to be WAY more forthcoming than I ever thought it would be.

Greywolf: ” I’m starting to wonder if the “hazing” incident wasn’t in fact pay-back for a walk-on showing up scholarship athletes in practice. ”

Especially with the “WE SHUT THEM DOWN UP FRONT” tweets from a few days ago.

They kinda seem like they are teetering on the edge of the cliff don’t they? *NC may need to interview a new Supervisor of Morale…

But what does the Supervisor of Morale think of all this?

I LOVE it when players start doing this, it means the end is drawing near. Although, I think I’d rather *nc be stuck with Fedora for a while yet.

    C’mon guys, see it through!

I’m guessing a 1 point victory as Xavier misses a somewhat open jumper at the end, a la Syracuse game.

I’m HOPING for an epic beatdown.

    Either way, GO PACK!

C’mon guys, Herb Sendek removed his name from consideration and that’s all we really need to know.

I hope this never gets old. I always chuckle at this meme.

^ I still don’t know why they let Skinner go. He was great!

    Bring back Al Skinner!

    …never going to happen…

I know, but a fella can dream, can’t he?!?

I just think that a 4th day of GOOD teams would draw better ratings and ticket sales than 2 days of BAD teams duking it out, with 3 days of GOOD teams to follow. Plus, it’s not fair that a potential matchup could be a 11-seed playing their 5th game in a many days, vs the 1 playing their 3rd in 3.

Start the thing on Wednesday, end on Saturday. Even if the top teams play on the following Thursday, that’s 4 days rest.

Oh well… when I set up my video game tournaments, I know how I will set them up from now on!

    I just had a thought…

A coupla weeks ago, there was a thread where we re all pitching ideas for a ‘perfect world’ ACC tournament.

THEN – I was of the opinion of having just the top 8 teams participate

NOW – I think we could have everybody participate, but with no double-byes. EVERYONE has to play 4 games in 4 days, except for the top seed.

    (1) gets a 1st round bye

    (8) vs (9)

    (4) vs (13)

    (5) vs (12)

so on and so on, just like a NCAA tourney regional bracket

Sorry to bring this back up – but it is an OPEN thread, and like I said it JUST came to me

I was kinda hoping for a NC St v Maryland ACC final

So long Maryland, but I’m sure we’ll see you soon enough. The ACC-bIG challlenge isn’t that far away

I assumed that today we would have proof it was Laranaga who snubbed TJ.
Tomorrow (If we’re lucky enough) we would have proof it was Boeheim.

/You see where this is headed

Whatever it’s worth, the guys here in PA are split between Warren and Parker, 1 guy for each (that I heard).

What causes the split? NC State’s overall record. The Parker guy thinks that because Duke wins more, their guys are better players

I thought I remembered Herbs defenses only looked good when you didn’t look at the tempo free stats. In that we ‘held’ teams to below their average in points, but only because our tempo was so low.

THIS is what drove me so nuts during his tenure! It wasn’t the offense (although I think I am the only one in the room who will say that) but the slow-footed defense they played

Alternatively, you could have a tourney for teams 8-15 only, winner gets NIT bid. LMAO.

In all seriousness, I would totally do that for my #9-15 ACC-leftovers tournament

Why not split the conference in half, go 8 and 8 home and away, and let the winners from each division play a “championship”.

I could get behind that, but I would want to split it up “old ACC” (including FSU) vs “new ACC/Big East” (VT and Miami onwards)

    OLD | NEW

    NC State | Virginia Tech
    Duke | Boston College
    Wake | Miami
    Virginia | Syracuse
    FSU | Pitt
    Clemson | Notre Dame
    Georgia Tech | Louisville
    UNX | ?

That even looks like a pretty balanced set of divisions, strength-wise (at least to a moron like me) Forgive the formatting

Good thing it isn’t up to me…

I would just drop the bottom 7-8 teams and start the Tournament on Friday. NO PLAY-IN GAMES. Can’t finish in the top half of the conference? See you next year.
