There’s a stats widget that shows how many times the article on the main page has been opened and another counter for how many times the forum thread has been opened.
I figured. I didn’t know if that can be configured to actually display that info the the general public.
fwiw… from a code standpoint this would mean that every reader would have to have an account and login so as to prevent multiple clicks and maintain the accuracy of the count…
I can only vote once in the front page polls even if I use different browsers (on the same computer) and don’t log in. The poll plugin must log IP addresses? Typically you can set polls (and other WP features are similar) to allow guests to participate along with registered users.
Anyway, just thinking out loud about a way to illustrate the number of readers.
