We have been completely and utterly exposed.

All I would like to see is if something is done, carry it out strategically/decisively/quickly. In that process avoid guys just looking for a bump. Our last two searches were cautionary tales.

I had a previous engagement and I missed the game. I looked at my phone to see we were up 6 and Mav was going off! Then I glanced at it driving home to see OT and a loss. Oh geez, absolutely needed this one, that’s tough.

For the record I’d take Scary Wheat over Arch.

Maybe they can have a players only meeting and figure some stuff out. Maybe some former players can come in and show them how to rebound and stuff.

Something seems to be off. I missed the first half on Sunday, and just watched a little bit. We don’t do one thing to pressure on defense, and we regularly lose assignments. That right there is enough for us to get beaten by 80% of the conference. We’re just beating ourselves. And I don’t see things getting corrected.

Then there doesn’t seem to be strategy on offense. When something goes right we forget about it, and we do a bunch of one-on-one stuff or contested jumpers to make something happen. Then there’s some confusion that leads to turnovers, and that’s about it. It looks a little too much like the Lowe years, a lot of shooting from the hip/reactionary stuff.

Are we back in the Les Robinson years? Well Kapita does look kinda like Chuck Kornegay.

Devonte Graham looks pretty good for Kansas, we really missed out there. GT continues to surge (maybe not such a bad loss) and Wake blows their own Duke upset at home in the last minutes.

Looks like GT was able is dismantle FSU with small ball. I really like their guards. Not so sure GT is lower tier.

    guess i mis-posted this.

They missed some shots but I felt we were more active and therefore better. They still got open a bunch. Rebounding stood out, have not seen the stats. Honestly all things considered the difference was Kapita and Smith just being clutch a handful of times.
Kapita is active around the rim like no one else, sometimes overzealously. Clearly one of the “motors” of this team that includes DSJ, Rowan, Markell. We’ll never be a great, even “good” defense team under Gott, but the energy guys with their individual talents helps address gaps.

We need more penetration and pounding the paint, while albeit will be more difficult against big, athletic teams like Miami, but we shouldn’t shy away. We saw this last year too, long, missed jump shots that turn into breakouts, essentially 4-5 point swings.

An important area of improvement? Patience + taking care of the ball. We regularly hit 15 turnovers a game. Against Duke? Under 10. The book on us thus far is “disrupt the offense and they are cooked”. And the longer you have the ball, the more they work on defense, and the less opportunities they have to score. Hopefully they are getting the message on this and can apply this during even the most stressful situations (opposing teams “runs”).

I have some words for the team: do not collect your news clippings. Do not bask in the glory of the win for more than the same night. Do not rescue wheelchaired kids at center court. Do not go on national media outlets to discuss said rescue efforts. Do not start hotdogging it in practice because you are all of that. In fact, do not pass go, do not collect 200 retweets, and go directly to practice to work on team defense.

Watched on DVR without ever seeing a score. DSJ displayed a pair of elephant nads tonight. The stretch to comeback and take the lead was epic.

This one was for Justin Gainey.

The three to go from down 1 to up 2 with 3:00 left in Matt Jones’ face was psychological warfare.
