You guys gonna have a circle jerk over a 2-point win over a Duke team in turmoil?

    Insightful…

Watched on DVR without ever seeing a score. DSJ displayed a pair of elephant nads tonight. The stretch to comeback and take the lead was epic.

This one was for Justin Gainey.

these guys have been fragile since the Chapel Hill game, nice for them to get a little boost.

The three to go from down 1 to up 2 with 3:00 left in Matt Jones’ face was psychological warfare.

Nice win in Durham for basketball, and the Pack Wrestlers took care of business just down the road, all on the same night.

    Stupid question.

They’ll lose by 20 to the JV team from Meredith at the next game.

Happy for the kids and coaches. Great win and a few days to enjoy it…Much better than our last 2 performances on the road.

We tried to give it away, but that’s part of it.

As cow says, hopefully, this is the start of the rebound.

Agree with everything else you said, but this… chop…

Did anybody expect the Dookies to lay down… doubtful…
Our kids held it together and finished the game strong and GOTT the win…

It’s the start of a rebound, if you want to look at it that way, but the recovery will continue to be two steps forward and one step backwards…

All of the 7 kids need another season in Raleigh… including D.Smith… but I’m not sure he can resist the temptations he’ll face… depends on whether he thinking about playing 5 or 15 yrs in the NBA…

The postgame with Smith was most interesting…

He said he was recruited by Dook, been to several big games in Cameron but being on the floor tonight was not like anything he’d ever imagined.

This has something to do with the 5 or 15 thing above… call it seasoning… if you like…

Just as important, at the same, albeit to a lessor extent in terms of NBA prospects, to rest of the guys on the team… tonight’s game is key.

For example, take ABU & Kapita… who knows what their future holds…

But at the same time, basketball is big part of their life and their identity… so let’s say they becomes Coaches… Games like tonight’s game will make them better coaches. There should be no argument about that.

rebound…jesus christ you guys. WE LOST AT HOME TO WAKE FOREST. WE LOST TO BOSTON COLLEGE. There is no all of the sudden great team, Dennis Smith Jr. simply took over the game (minus missing free throws) and we didnt get screwed by the refs. Gott is still a horrid coach. Ted Kapita drops a double double as a freshman at Duke (most over-rated gym in the damn us) yet hasn’t touched the court in the past two games.

I’m beyond thrilled we beat those pricks, but it is still what it is.

I Hate State for making me love them.

DSJ needs to go and not a risk a season to injury. Hope Gott isn’t selfish enough to tell the kid otherwise. Lottery pick you go.

I fully expect the backward steps. I’ll watch for the forward steps but won’t hold my breath.

Lowe had a win against Duke but that didn’t signal any magical turnaround. Hopefully this time will be different.

There is no all of the sudden great team,

    PM… you GOTT that right!!!

the rest is no biggie to me…

it all depends on whether you’re talking ’bout the W-L record at the end of season or on a personal player development level….
fwiw, I was speaking more on the second level… which indirectly affects the first level…

not great, but thank you for the complaint, I’ve just watched alot of bball and people over the years…

We won. I thought we would get plastered. My hat’s off to the team and maybe even the coaching staff.

NOT ready to pop for the Reynolds Tile yet….but I sure feel a LOT better. Walking around Reynolds yesterday rekindled some of the old love….even though I feel that I was cheated on.

Smith showed poise and the ability to score. His 6 assists were a little on the weak side, but his 32 points probably make up for it.

We got 2 of the top 10’s on SC tonight. Smith’s Bullet pass was #4.

What do we do for an encore. Beats me.

Heck of a way to get GOTT’s #400.

Mikey will never forgive Capel. At least it was not on HIS watch. I was a mere 49 YO when we last beat Duke in Cameron and my son was going to graduate from UNC Law….Yes, I do remember the game.

If you listened to any of the radio broadcast, my advice would be for Tony Haynes to be put, temporarily, on GOTT’s staff. His vision and understanding of whats going on…on the court….far exceeds some of the assistants….as well as our ancient consultant.

Gottfried’s dad being there was cool….he was making notes the entire game.

GO PACK….RED is the color tomorrow…

To me, the Duke game just confirmed what a lot of you guys are screaming about, more guys off the bench please!!!
Kapita is going to make some mistakes but the upside is so much greater than what Anya can offer as he lumbers up and down the floor. Additionally, Markell is an added spark with his hustle and is getting better on the defensive end. As for Y7, certainly displays potential but I think thats about 2yrs away in this league!! Smith will be gone and good for
him, it would be a mistake to stay. He may not be ready just yet but he far exceeds other Pack NBA want-a-b’s that
blew there college options. Great win for the program!

Yes, I been hard on DSJ. Not because he isn’t talented, maybe best talent we’ve seen in decades. I was hard because he didn’t manage the game well, or get his team involved and/or let the game come to him. This game he impressed me by doing things like getting the rock to players like Abu and Maverick in transition, made open shots and good decisions as a leader. Yes, he had several missed layup and some key free throws but down the stretch he was the player we (I) was hoping for from the day he signed.

As said, Lowe beat the Dookies in Cameron, we all know how that chapter ended. Here’s hoping Gott saw the light with using players like Kapita more. It was a good win no matter where we go from here. Lets hope its finally that game changing season up trending win we needed.
