I have never been a real MLB fan….but I have been to Fenway. That is unreal. It is like BB should be.
My prediction was that the Cubs will take the series. However, in view of the events of around 1:00 PM today, that may be in doubt. The Bag Lady’s Blackberry done been “subpeoned”…..I say CONFISCATED by the FBI. What evil is in it….I am NOT a liberty to divulge. However, it did move a certain high ranking official in the FBI to “reopen” his “Closed…(Wink, Wink…) investigation. The political intrigue of an Ex Republican State Senator from GA, who defended some companies for “neferious” accounting procedures and other “Big Boy W$ Feces Shenanigans”….and who, eventually, became the FBI Director for two of the most (Personal opinion….and that goes way back to the Nixon days) corrupt US Attorney Generals in the history of the office is what makes our system so unique.
NOW, since a certain candidate wanted her Cubs to WIN….so she could capture Joe Six Pack’s vote and be “One of the boys”….was already a DONE deal. BUT, Humorous Aid&Abet, done got her personal emails exposed….sort of poetic justice. I wonder if her estranged (and he really is a bit strange) husband, Mr. Oscar Meyer Weiner was SEXTING the 15 YO daughter of a fellow Deplorable. I’m betting on that.
You only have to have one MORE run than the other team to win. I thought that the Cubbies were going to pull it off….even brought in BILL MURRAY to lead the singing. NOPE, not the way the script was rewritten, very hastily, this afternoon.
Each team got a road win….so tomorrow night, the REAL pressure is on the Cubbies (or whenever they play again). Probably go 4 & 2….but “you never know”….
I urge all loyal and concerned fans to ask some questions, and perhaps give alternative solutions, to the AD and also the WPC. I’m a true Don Quixote type, but my lance is broken and I almost need a “help me…I’v fallen…” button with a fresh battery….as I have broached this before several times and from several fronts.
I DO understand the “LTR” is a contract.
I DO understand that the seats are PAID FOR.
I also DO understand that there are “Ways” to get into the sidelines section if you have a friend that is an usher….they tell you…”Find a seat….if someone says it is theirs…..Go quietly to another”. I have actually, before I purchased my LTR’s done that on several occasions.
I actually chose 200 level seats when I bought my LTR’s as there are “staircases” that let you go down there. THAT was an influence….but then when the Champions Club opened up and my original two LTR’s were swallowed….my DW, the REAL BB Fan, said….We’re in and did not even LOOK at the price. She loves it…and that makes her happy….and that, as most know, also keeps us BOTH happier….
I DO understand that an automatic email or even a robo call from Coach GG gets to be tiresome….sort of like all the calls that I get to vote for a certain candidate….UNC had tried some ticket swaps and such….but they ran into the same issues. Their solution, If you WIN, they will COME…
Maybe the solution is to hold a “special WPC gathering” for the folks who have less than a 50% attendance record. Invite them to a cocktail hour. Let Bobby, Debbie and Mark all “extol” WHY they are letting down the pack. RISK….They will give up their seats. Reward, there are a lot of folks, I think, that WOULD upgrade….THEN, you get to sell that mule again…
BUT, I do NOT have an advanced degree in Sport Management and Marketing….

And to all, a good night.Well, we COULD pull out the seats like NASCAR is doing. I still think that some type of “You Don’t SHOW….we allow others to USE your prime seats….” policy is needed. YES, it would take a little computer effort and also, IF the folks showed up, then they would certainly have the right (since the have the tickets) to their seat. BUT, we WOULD fill up the lower sections and the place, from a TV perspective, would not look that sparce…..However, I do NOT have to cater to big time and loyal donors….
I agree with BJD95…..If she really “Shakes them up”, I will watch and enjoy and keep ordering to see “how she pours”
PapaJohn. YES, the empty seats are embarrassing. There was a long discussion on this many years ago. There were, more importantly, some long discussions between the AD and the WPC. Right now, the BULK of the seats, I am told, that are empty are really OLD LTR’s. Most are purchased in businesses for customers and clients. It is a little hard to say this….but sometimes, you can’t even GIVE them away. I know this for a fact. My wife’s former boss had a large block of Deandome tickets. He could not even give them away to clients. He stopped going and also told his office manager to let the employees have them….no limit. THAT was during the Pre-Roy years….and there were MORE State Fans at the UNC Vs. NCSU in 2003, than UNC fans. Obviously, that changed.
There is an email of “encouragement” that is sent (or was) to folks that do not show up. With the advent of UPC scanning, there is a “No Show” list generated each morning….so they KNOW whom they are.
It has been suggested, and probably rightfully rejected, that the sidelines area be “opened up” after Q1. They could print out “temporary” tickets so that you were required to sit in a Vacant (based on past games attendance). That plan has not been implemented and the comment was “We can NOT give away LTR’s to fans….since they were paid for by the long time holders….even if they do NOT attend” I understand that and was told that this is a “high level” priority to get SOMEONE (from the holder) in the seats. I think that any suggestion, within reason, would be considered….I tried and failed.
Bottom line, the MAIN $$ concern is MORE about the UPPER’s and also keeping the “Individual Donors” in the 200 level and the Champions Club. I have 4 there and there are folks that have dropped them, after almost completing their 10 year pledge….they are just frustrated and/or family/business environment changed.
These tickets and the 300’s actually “make or break” the finances….as the 100’s on each sideline are considered as “SOLD”. The evaporation of fans in the 300’s was the primary reason that Sydney left a year or so early. When I bought my first LTR’s in 2006, I was told that it would take a very HIGH 5 or maybe even a 6 figure (to the LEFT of the decimal) to get seats on the sidelines…..OUCH. I chose the 200 and wound up in the Champions Club.

Obviously Dennis is a confident young man. I hope that he lives up to 50 – 75% of his potential. I DO worry that he will go “CJ” on us….we DO have a lot of potential….as we have always had…but never quite put it together. YES, we did make the Sweet 16 twice, but we have also had a lot of “OMG” seasons mixed in.
I expected better when I bought my 2 LTR’s in 2006 and then added 2 more in 2008….but a LOT of water has spilled and sometimes not too much to show for it….other than my expanding waistline during BB season….Free (OK, I pay for if) Food does console you from time to time….
I posted earlier, but I guess it got “lost”. What concerns me is the lack of any solid “Defensive Genius” in the accolades about our two new hires. Bobby Lutz (now with the Windy City NBDL….what a name for a team with the political acumen of Chicago…) was supposed to be the Robin to Batman’s Offense….that would “watch his back”. That obviously didn’t happen…and the two were about as close as DD and QB.
CD’s comment is priceless. The HOF Coach was recently (before he retired) part of the Coach’s Poll committee. Seems to me that he SHOULD have some insight…and if HE is in the dark or does not have any “feelings”, then that about says it all.
We should be (and the Turk SHOULD be cleared by mid December unless there were some really BIG payoff’s) great on the O end….assuming that none of them are Whit’s and no one will pass. BUT, what happens when we get hammered on the D end. I still remember how Mikey figured out the scheme to launch the JJ Reddick barrage. THAT derailed our chance at an ACC Championship. When asked … why didn’t you use a Junk Defense on him, HWWNBSOHA said, with us usual High IQ (but not BB) arrogance….”We never practiced such….next question….”.
I fear that we will see some JUNK thrown at us and we will NOT have any JUNK to throw back.

Pressure is the key phrase. Assuming that we do not utilize the Uday Hussein “Motivational Program” (google Iraq Olympic Team Torture Wood Chipper), then there is really not much that can be done. KB has to “kick through” this and get confidence. If we are NOT beating the bushes for a more reliable kicker, then we really going to be up the lower branch of Feces River….
I certainly HOPE that KB is getting some much needed “reps” to make him more automatic. He tends to Slice and needs to figure out how to kick straight….
CD….moi point exactly. I assume that the rationale to change from Connor Haskins to Kyle Bambard was based on how accurate they were in practice. Maybe NOT….maybe they were equal and Haskin’s “game performance factor” was in question….and the coaching staff decided to try a different horse. Whatever, the decision is made and odds are, you can’t, Thomas Wolfe, GO HOME AGAIN..or whatever that phrase is about burning your bridges behind you.
Your “horse whisperer” sums it up. Kickers are head cases and they need different strokes….than most of the team.
Know any good PK or FB Shrinks? Our announcing staff, with some credentials, say that you have to take the same girl home that you brought to the dance and, eventually, you will score….metaphorically speaking….of course….OK, I understand both posts. Now, what should DD do?
IF I read correctly, he started out With Conner Haskins. That did not work. Now we have Kyle Bamburg. The next two are RS Fresh and RS Soph. IF DD reverts back to Haskins, will the “gotta try something” Haskins be Better, Worse or the Same as he was when he started or maybe when relieved. If I understand the comments from the announcers, a PK is a different “breed” of FB player. He sometimes zones out everything and only lets his holder and snapper into his “inner circle”. That is because he has to concentrate and focus…I think that Mark Thomas said a PK was a “Head Case” and that most coaches were reluctant to go BACK to one that had been demoted….as he was usually WORSE…due to the increased pressure.
OR does Coach D go to one of the RS PK’s and make HIM the “kicker” of the day? If so, what will he do?
I assume that the kickers are judged in practice on their accuracy…..and also get a “mental rating” on their resistance to PRESSURE. What do you do to improve the PRESSURE resistance? Do you threaten their loved ones with pain (or embarrassing pictures) if the Kicker does NOT make more practice field goals that his peers?
I certainly do NOT have an answer…but if our radio staff is correct, you go with the most accurate one that you have and THEN you work with him on focus and try to keep the pressure off him. I THINK that Skip Holtz came out onto the field when the opposing coach called a TO to ice the kicker and instead of blowing sunshine up his orifice, told a joke and did NOT extoll him to CONCENTRATE.
Jimmy V told a story about motivation and also “de-motivation” that he learned in his early career. One of the coaching clinics he went to had an example. The coach told the attendee’s….NOW during my opening slides, please pay careful attention, and under NO circumstances, think of a Black Cow. You guessed it….MOST if not ALL of the coaches admitted that the Black Cow image was in their head.
His Point….do NOT, under any circumstances, DE-Motivate your player(s)…..V said that during the the run, there was a key foul shooting sequence. He called over the team and said…”After Lo makes these two, this is what we run….”. He repeated that one more time. As they broke the huddle, he grabbed Sidney Lowe and said….If Lo misses, then THIS is what you run. V said that Lo said, at least twice….”I got dess….” and he smiled and said….I know….and this is what we will do after you make them. The image of the Black Cow was in his head and he was NOT going to do anything to take away from Lo’s concentration or confidence.
My point was that even the Pro’s miss. And with our limited talent or depth, what choices does DD have? If it were as simple as going back to Haskins, then I think he would have done it. Rightly or wrongly, I think that our analysts or commentators have a better feel for the dilemma that we are in and their comments carry some weight.
Maybe CowDog can chime in….

That is about it. Do we have someone in Coach D that is a Saban under all the layers? Probably not. We DON’T have the best reputation for recognizing or keeping talent. Lest ye forget, WE chased off The Lone Ranger….Monte Kiffin.
We will survive. We need to win as many of the remaining games as we can and we MUST, absolutely, positively, unequivally….without reproach or concession, BEAT UNC.
Dr. Woodson is NOT going to jump in here and fire Debbie…and I would be more upset if he did. She has restored a lot of “spirit” at NCSU. Is she perfect….far from it.
BUT, we are better off. NOW, would we be better off if Bobby Purcell had been offered the job….probably not….but he was the only one that was on the slate that I backed.

I HOPE (fear?) that many of the SFN might have listened or heard some of Jerry Clower’s comedy routines. If NOT, here is one to ponder….

It is filled with some real southern culturisms….many of which, growing up in rural Catawba County and also spending 3 years in North Hampton County, I can relate to. I deer hunted with dogs up there and some of the characters still exist. It, to me, is well worth the time spent listening to it….for the humor….but how about a different twist….
John Eubanks is TRUMP or Daffy Duck as BOTB has dubbed him. The Lynx (thought to have been a raccoon) whom Jerry describes as a Wild Cat on Steroids (could not catch all the audio….I THINK that is what he said) is Clinton….or Queen Bee (QB) per Bill’s playbill.
Their ensuing battle is a combination of bluster and screeches….now THAT is really true. Jerry and his buddies were out hunting on private property and ran into the owner that joined them (Mr. Baron). Mr. Baron (whom I thought that Jerry in one version called “Captain”) carried a side arm for dispatching pesky reptiles that are bent on inflicting pain and agony. Having hunted in deer stands in swamps, I, too, carried a side arm…a .44 Magnum loaded with shot as well as hollow points. 3 each.
The crowd below is pulling for John to “Knock him out…” or to throw out the raccoon (QB) so the “dogs” will have a fair shot at him. Jerry justifies how John is actually a conservationist and will not “dispatch” a raccoon with a fired projectile. John is also your basic Don Quoixote in that he has the utmost confidence and will be successful at anything he attempts (climbing a tree using his toenails and fingernails as spikes to get to the first branch). The raccoon is not a helpless creature, but a night maurader that raids garbage cans and such….
NOW, bearing that in mind….listen to the audio. Also note Jerry’s two forms of Entertainment….and that he works all the time….

I think, with absolutely not a farthing of bias to my Big Red WP, that we have a decent shot. Decent of course depends on how the Zeb’s see our OL blocking….and also their aggressive or passive tweeting.
Vegas lines, which I am no expert at, show us as a 19.5 point underdog. That seems a bit overdone….or as it has been posted, our overall team’s performance against such foes have been under misrepresented….
So, we shall see what we shall see. I am optimistic for a victory on a level field. However, I think that Bobby Petrino is actually a bit smarter (and craftier) that the Dabo…It will all comedown to the team that wants it the most. Hopefully, we will not get down 4 or 5 scores, as Louisville’s past conquests have done. IF we play them even, like we did Clemson, then we will find ourselves in a “Position to win”….at the end. And I THINK we will pull it off.
As with all projections, there are no guarantees…..I WILL be disappointed if we forget how good we CAN be and play up to Louisville’s expectations…

I hope folks are jesting about BJ falling off the Rehab Wagon. There were rumors that he stayed true to the team dietician’s meal plan during the week….but on the weekend, if you stood between he and his 4 Double Whopper, french fried with bacon wrapped around it, SNACKS….then you were in trouble and he would just sit on you and laugh as you lay gasping for your last breath. That tidbit came from a WPC insider…..who is usually VERY complimentary….
