One item that you have not really seen in the major media is that the ACC never expanded their bowl alliance when they added Virginia Tech & Miami. Adding 2 top 15 teams, and not adding to the mix of bowls, makes it possible for teams to have great seasons, and go to awful bowl […]

According to the Winston Salem Journal, Associate Athletics Director Charlie Cobb will be named the new AD at Appalachian State. It will be fun to watch who will take his job. Cobb did a great job at NC State and it will be interesting to watch his progression at App State.
New Opportunity, Old Names?
News is kind of slow this week, so StateFansNation will take a few minutes to ponder a few obvious scheduling opportunities raised by the forthcoming 12th game. It’s important to strike while the iron is hot, since everybody’s newfound scheduling flexibility won’t last long. Both from a fan interest standpoint and from a practical standpoint […]
Same Old, Same Old from Sendek
Members of “the family” will be quite pleased with Herb Sendek’s coaching announcement today. We’re going to have some good stuff this week related to State & Carolina, as well some insight into the assistant basketball coaching position and discussions on the ever-evolving 2005 football schedule. In the meantime…I’ve gathered a couple […]
Tudor: Sendek’s Next Goal
“A first-division ACC finish seems likely next season (2005-2006). Sendek’s next goal is to make the jump into serious ACC contention, which would mean becoming a serious national contender.” — Caulton Tudor News & Observer April 30, 2005 ===> Only took a decade to make serious ACC contention and a national conteder a goal for […]
Hunter Gone, Who’s Going To Be Hired?
With Larry Hunter’s departure now more certain (apparently it will be announced today) than it was yesterday, I wonder who will be his replacement? On first blush, Archie Miller seems like the lead choice. If not, why would Archie leave an assistant’s job at Western Kentucky to come back to NCSU as director of operations? […]
