Rest of Weekend Open Football Thread

It’s all a prelude to PeyPey putting an end to the Chefs fluky undefeated season. But there are several good games in the 3:30 window – Okie State at Texas (Fox), Georgia at Auburn (CBS), Sparty at Nebraska (ABC/ESPN2), Miami at Duke (ESPNU).

Stanford at USC (8:00, ABC) could also be watchable.

Yeah, we were pretty lucky to beat the Spiders even in September form.

I’m glad to see Dukies doing well in football. I will tell you guys this much, I will be cheering my damn ass off for them when they play against the cheat holes.

I think Bo Pelini is going to blow a gasket ala A&M in 2010.

Auburn is still manhandling Georgia by 17 … 34-17 halfway through the 3rd. The game has gotten a lot better but Auburn strongly resembles the 2010 era team that won the natty.

I root for giant earthquake when the blues play in hoops, but Go Devils all the way in football. Cutcliffe also a class act.

  6. BJD95 11/16/2013 at 6:13 PM #

At least his brother can get him some good shit for the afterparty.

  7. FunPack 11/16/2013 at 6:13 PM #

“Just wondering… wonder what it would be like today if we had somehow hired Cutcliffe instead of Duke.”

Foose I had the exact same thought earlier in this game. I bet it woulda been pretty awesome.

I can’t make myself pull for Dook but I do think it would be damn funny if they beat Miami and win the Coastal.

  9. Fastback68 11/16/2013 at 6:18 PM #

Do you think state fans and our administration would have given him six years to get to this point??? 24-48 record to date per Wikipedia.

  10. nitewolf 11/16/2013 at 6:20 PM #

Pokes still walking the dog against the t-sips. How sweet it is.

  11. BJD95 11/16/2013 at 6:21 PM #

No, but Cutcliffe probably is able to recruit better faster at State.

  12. FunPack 11/16/2013 at 6:24 PM #

LOL. I don’t think you grasp just where Dook was when Cut took over, Fastback. There was talk of dropping football all together. We aren’t nearly that far gone here.

  13. Fastback68 11/16/2013 at 6:28 PM #

28-42 actually. I just don’t think as a whole we have the patience. I would give DD 6 years per my response to last weeks thread on the subject if he can keep recruiting at a high level.

Jameis is 6’4″ 228 lbs. The police description of the alledged assailant is 5’9″ to 5’11”, 240 lbs, with straight, short hair.

The alleged victim gave Winston’s name.

There are dozens of witnesses that put Winston elsewhere.

The complaint was file in Dec 2012, before Winston became a national figure. The case was closedca few months later.

Winston bursts onto the college football scene, becomes Heisman contender on the #2 team.

Suddenly the case is reopened. Police say case should be closed again next month.

Do the math, compare the body types. Make your own conclusion.

“The complaint was file in Dec 2012”

It was those damned Mayans, obviously.

  16. Fastback68 11/16/2013 at 6:34 PM #

I hope so Funpack. It may be a worst to first for us next year or so I like to dream. It would be putrid to be o-fer this season.

  17. Wufpacker 11/16/2013 at 6:37 PM #

It will definitely be a worst to something for us next year.

  18. TheCOWDOG 11/16/2013 at 6:37 PM #

    Mayans? I knew her.

  19. Wufpacker 11/16/2013 at 6:38 PM #

    Your’uns against Mayans, ‘Dog.

    😀

  20. BJD95 11/16/2013 at 6:39 PM #

Imagine how bad the dumpster fire fumes will smell next weekend, mixed with all that vomit and methhead BO.

  21. FunPack 11/16/2013 at 6:40 PM #

It’s hard to have much hope for anything better than 0-fer in conference this year. It’s not pretty, for sure.

Oh and you gotta watch those Mayans. They’re like the Ninjas of the jungle. And good at math. 😉

  22. Wufpacker 11/16/2013 at 6:42 PM #

    Good at math.
    Not so good at predictifying.

  23. Wufpacker 11/16/2013 at 6:44 PM #

And before anyone jumps my ass on this, I DO realize the Mayans predicted nothing. But rather the multitudes of wannabe smart guys recently had erroneously inferred stupid ass shit from what the Mayans did have to say on the matter.

    So shut up.

  24. Wulfpack 11/16/2013 at 6:45 PM #

If we go 0-fer, which is a near certainty, do we get anything for that? No first picks I know, but maybe more schollies?

First Wake. Now Duke. Holy sh–. Sad times for Wolfpack football. Never seen us this terrible. No chance against the Pirates and that is just abominable.

  25. BJD95 11/16/2013 at 6:46 PM #

The Mayans sound like NC State grads.
