Pack Loses Thursday Off, ACC Loses Last Shred of Credibility

In the most incompetently officiated game I have ever seen, on any level…NC State falls to the 5th seed and 11-7.

Anyone who doesn’t want to leave this bullshit joke of a conference needs their head examined.

And in other news we lost to Clemson in baseball today too. We now have a conference record of 0-2 in baseball. What a year….all hype and no substance.

PS I’d prefer a three guard lineup over vberg pt

Well, at least Duke is making us feel a little better about ourselves. What a performance.

Honestly, even if UVA wins tomorrow at home, our road really isn’t that tough all things considered. Wake or VT on Thursday. UVA on Friday. Miami on Saturday. Do-able.

Free throws and turnovers. It’s not the refs! Also, Leslie finds more ways to take himself out of games it’s amazing. Starting to remind me of Julius Hodge. Thought he was better than he was. I see Brown, Wood and Howell more valuable in NBA. Brown will start in the NBA because he is a big point guard and can use the whole court. Wood will find a home as a reserve due to his shooting and he is a big guard. Howell just works hard. Leslie is a head case. Can’t shoot from parameter, thin build and can vanish at times. Well, lets see if we can pull it together for the tournament. Think have 2 more years before we can fill talent bucket again.

“What? It ain’t funny if I say it to ya? WTF is your problem?”

Your words are in English but you, as usual, make no sense. Just leave me out of your nonsensical posts.

Guys time to be honest with OURSELVES. CJ is a head case…he was with Lowe and will be in the NBA. He single handedly screwed us at Chapel Hill just like today! He’s only concerned about being a hightlight on Sportscenter. He’s selfish, immature, and has low basketball IQ. Watch him, most of defensive breakdowns involve CJ losing his man of the pick, time after time. Today was horrible, he fu#@** us today!!!

  9. Wulfpack 03/09/2013 at 10:28 PM #

Pup, I am a big Wood fan, but he doesn’t have a chance at the NBA. His guy would score 40 on him, and he can’t create his own. Howell is our best bet. He is going to have a solid NBA career. Brown won’t start right away but will develop into a fine PG ala Rondo. Leslie is a mystery. Could hit it big or could flame out after 1 season. Warren is on track, by the way.

“I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if we made the Elite Eight, regardless of seed.”

It really all depends upon the draw. If we can play to our strengths, then we can beat most teams.

  11. JeremyH 03/09/2013 at 10:33 PM #

We are a talented, fragile team, which is why we are a weak road team. At least we can start seeing neutral court games. You fellas who wrap all your happiness into what a bunch of undergrads do on the hardwood ought to seek some perspective.

  12. Alpha Wolf 03/09/2013 at 10:44 PM #

As a small consolation prize, at least Carolina is getting shredded tonight. That ought to keep them quiet for a couple of days.

  13. Wulfpack 03/09/2013 at 10:47 PM #

Yet, they are still going to finish a spot or two ahead of us in the ACC standings, which is just astonishing considering the talent differential. Roy has done a pretty good job after a very spotty start. Duke is a national title contender with Kelly back, no question. Hope we are too but I am losing hope.

  14. Wulfpack 03/09/2013 at 10:51 PM #

And Plumlee is in all likelihood your player of the year with that performance. Dominant.

  15. Alpha Wolf 03/09/2013 at 11:31 PM #

Agreed – Plumlee sewed it up there. Didn’t see how Larkin did today, but Miami is not really finishing strong. Green is probably the best of the three but with VT’s record, he’s got no chance.

Tuffy2 that’s very poisonous stuff you’re passing out

Just sharing! I believe I have the remedy somewhere.

So going into the ACC tournament with 7 losses and a #5 seed. (assuming Virginia doesn’t lay another egg) Sound fimilar? Other than not being on the NCAA bubble, this season has pretty much ended the same way as last year with the exception of bigger wins. Disappointing. Maybe we can win the tournament to combat the disappointment somewhat.

Until this team is washed of the Lowe recruits, I won’t be too quick to blame the coaching. I really like the Freshman class and I think they will be good next year with the recruits and transfer from this year.

The traveling calls on CJ are ridiculous. Anytime he drives and puts the ball on the floor they call it. Usually he has a few hands on him grabbing and pulling but the officials are “lettin em play”. The overly physical Neanderthal style of play as proliferated by the blues have overtaken the game. How many turnovers were a direct result of someone’s jersey being held or being knocked to the floor. The acc tournament is going to be a blue fest. I can’t wait to see how the team plays with unbiased officials in the NCAA tourney. Time and time again states defense is reduced to nothing and paralyzed by strange calls, especially away from the ball. The refs do not like Leslie’s style of play. I say this based on how they call the game around him. they completely stiffle any signs of life in his game and allow him to get hammered. They seem to want to stop all this uppity play by state.

Bad officiating aside I have two words. Box. Out.

  20. tractor57 03/10/2013 at 6:40 AM #

The issues yesterday were the same issues we have seen all year. Too many points left at the free throw line, too many balls fumbled out of bounds or just plain fumbled, too many point blank shots missed, players trying to be superman while teammates are standing and watching (and not boxing out). Along with you have inconsistent defense and as with any coaching staff questions about strategy and tactics. The issues are not new and they are similar to ones Lowe faced. Gott and co have managed to get more from some players than Lowe was able, recruited quite well but the fact remains we still have a team with little depth, a very fragile psyche but one with some immense talent. FSU did what had to be done to win while the Pack frittered away yet again a chance to control their destiny.

Maybe the officiating was not what it should have been but that is not the reason for the loss.

Don’t matter how many games CJ helps us win, if he is going to cause us to lose games. I’m ready for CJ to go pro. I’m sick of his childish attitude and I’m tired of Gott kissing his butt!!!

  22. GotNCState 03/10/2013 at 9:01 AM #

CJ just does not learn from his mistakes. Unteachable, & not that smart.

  23. mak4dpak 03/10/2013 at 9:23 AM #

Perhaps Duke should have beat UNC in the afternoon game, then mayb Leslie would have realized what he was suppose to do. Such a bone head. Only 5 points, Thanks!

  24. ADVENTUROO 03/10/2013 at 9:30 AM #

    Well,

Is the glass half full this morning or half empty. Right now I’m neutral.

First a little housekeeping to clear up an erronious, I think, post yesterday. Someone said that the loss yesterday cost Gottfried $$….

NOPE. If you read his original contract, his base salary is $750K or $62.5K per month.

His INCENTIVES (academic and athletic) did NOT change….and his Base Salary did NOT change.

He did get an EXTENSION….but that came early in 2012 as a result of the Sweet Sixteen appearance.

He did get a RAISE in Sept, 2012. His supplemental compensation went up from $450K to $1,200K or a raise of $750K which is equal to his base salary.

The Incentives did NOT change. He gets the competitive bonus of $62.5K (ONE month base) as follows:

    Regular ACC Champ – 2 months – 2nd place 1 months

ACC Tourney – SAME as the Regular ACC Champ.

There is NO 12 game or any number of regular ACC or Total wins.

Sweet Sixteen Appearance – 1 Months

Elite Eight Appearance – 1 Months

Final Four Appearance – 1 Months

Championship Game Appearance – 2 Months

    NCAA Championship – 3 Months.

Max of $750K – which is 12 months….He can also get $250K in Academic Bonuses…..thus he can earn an additional $1,000K.

This is directly from his signed 2011 contract and the Official NCSU AD press release on the “raise”.

I thought that the devasting loss (Rout) of the baby blues by the evil dark blues would make me feel better….but all it does is make me ill that if we had done our part, we would be sitting in an undisputed third place and have Thursday off…..

Yes, I will watch the UVA-MD game, but I do NOT hold out too much hope….And the Vegas odds…..that and about $5 will get you a Starbucks whatever.

  25. Wulfpack 03/10/2013 at 9:45 AM #

I don’t think Gott is kissing Leslie’s butt. He calls him Calvin. He blasted him in the presser following his no show at UNC. I mean, as I have said, what is a coach to do? I am sure Gott is at his wits end with him. It would be a shame if this is the type of memory Wolfpack fans have of him. He has been a disappointment. And it’s all between the ears. He has all the ability in the world to shine at this level but hollow upstairs.
