Game Ball, Kevin Reddick (and Owen Spencer)

Thank the Lord Mr. Reddick decided to wake up the sleepwalking Pack. Because once awoken, NC State played its best football all year. And we will play for the Atlantic Division title next week in College Park.

And what awareness by Owen Spencer to catch a tipped knuckler in the end zone. Without that, not sure the righteous anger would have been enough to get us over the hump. Remember when we used to call him “butterfingers?”

Quinton Coples, in my view, should have been ejected 4 plays before the fight. He hit Wilson at least 4-5 strides out of bounds. Coples took two steps on the chalk before launching. And you will NEVER convince me that he wasn’t coached to do that. Dirty sons of bitches!

And thank you for showing much better situational awareness this week, Coach O’Brien. Screw the book.

Notice Jarvis Williams with the broom!

“While Green was huge today, I’m not sure I’d give him a game ball for his clock milking running. If I’m not mistaken we gained a net total of 0 yards on three straight plays up the middle on that last possession before punting the ball back to the Heels. One little first down would have prevented some unnecessary stress on my ticker.”

Washington carried the ball on those 3 plays with no net gain late in the game.

those poor seniors at UNC that never beat the PACK. How sad for them, especially TJ.

It just hit me that my senior year at State, Maryland beat us at home in P Riv’s final game. They threw oranges on the field. I am a big believer in what goes around, comes around…I have a feeling that little episode from all of those Terps in 2003/2004 might come back to bite them big next weekend.

We write our own story from here on out – OwwwwwwOhhhhhh!

Don’t feel bad for the seniors, they can just have their tutor write their Twitter posts now and polish their watches and earrings.

  7. Tampa-Pack 11/20/2010 at 6:14 PM #

Well, atleast it appears that they will never have to worry about vacating a win to us – am I right??? 🙂

re: IC boards – LOTS of them are calling State “our rivals” – they’ve always known it, and tried to downplay it, and now the chickens have come home to roost. Butchie’s salary and the NCAA investigation are constant topics. I’m in schadenfreude heaven.

The first time I breathed all afternoon was when that Searcy idiot let the punt go. Uh, dude – there’s a time and a place when you have to take a chance.

i dont know about yall but when nate flew in the air and sacked yates in the fourth i went crazy. (even though they scored two plays later). What a helluva win, we gotta come in hot next weekend and clinch that championship spot. GO PACK!!!!

Riddick put his knee across Spencer’s upper chest/throat and then stepped on Spencer’s face mask/helmet. I would be mad if Jarvis had not taken up for his teammate. Riddick should get a suspension that ends his season, but we know that Swofford will not do that to one of his own.
In Butch’s post game interview he said that he did not have a good view of the miracle catch and had to trust the replay officials on that one. Then he said that the miracle play should have never happened because the refs did not call RW for intentional grounding on the play before. Correct me if I am wrong, but Comm. Swofford suspended Tracy Smith for one game for complaining about officiating last season and he missed the Arizona game that we lost at the buzzer. Be consistent Mr. Commissioner, and keep BMFCD off the sideline of the Dook game(maybe his last at your school). Also, please say something about the massive scandal that is still being investigated at your alma mater.

Great plays all around, but it was not pretty. I don’t care. A win is a win and seeing Yates on his butt in his own endzone was the perfect ending for UNX’s would-be game-winning drive. I can officially breathe easy again. (Or at least until the kickoff of the Maryland game!)

Butch is a whiny little girl and he just got his ass whipped for the 4th time in a row by a man.

Oh and notice how he’s all of a sudden wearing that pukey light blue color instead of the dark blue. Guess he’s sucking up to the blue bloods to beg for his job.

Lie and cheat and you still can’t beat the wolfpack!!!!

I was at that game and a group of Md fans were there talking crap the whole time. Frankly I have never been around such jerks. That is when I began to dislike Md more than any other team.

Hell yes. That was a crazy game – we definitely had some luck – but, it’s about time.

Awesome job for Spencer, RW, Sweezey, our LBs and Earl Wolff. Heard on the radio where UNC had negative rushing yards.

Any additional scoop on the Reddick-Jarvis fight?

  16. BJD95 11/20/2010 at 6:51 PM #

If that guy admitted that the Coples hit on Wilson was a deliberate, pre-meditated cheap shot (for “revenge” re alleged apitting), then I think multiple Holes MUST be suspended for at least the Duke game. That would show a very clear intent to injure – which is some punk shit that has no place in college football.

And yes, I would say the same thing if one of our guys did that.

But if that were the case, the ACC wouldn’t have to hand out the suspensions.

    Fucking dirty-assed Holes.

  17. STLPack01 11/20/2010 at 6:51 PM #

They had negative yards because of the sacks. Even so, their running backs only had 46 yds combined.

  18. BJD95 11/20/2010 at 6:53 PM #

So, to summarize – at bare minimum, Coples, Reddick, and Chief Butch should be suspended for the Duke game. Not that I’m holding my breath…

  19. Ski Wolf 11/20/2010 at 6:56 PM #

^^Who said that Rick?? Curious as I was at that game as well, granted rather young, but still left disappointed and have hated UMD ever since. Hope come next weekend we’re past the “play not to lose” phase of State football.

Was it just not 12 months ago NC State fans had to put up with the UNC-sucking media talking about the great thing the Butch was doing at UNC? Not to mention the basketball team that lost to Minnesota, I didn’t even know Minn had a basketball team. I’m sure the -suckers in the media will still put UNC in the top 10 in b-ball. Just like last year when UNC was like 1-10 and still in the top 20. o be investigated

Had a blast in Chapel Hill today. On the way out of the stadium, I passed some idiot who had painted his body blue with a white letter “T”. He looked dazed and confused. The only thing I could think of was the Hitler video with him all upset about not being able to use his body paint.

  22. Gowolves 11/20/2010 at 7:12 PM #

I was at the game and all I can say is good game boys! Lets go get it next week!

  23. Sweatapodimas 11/20/2010 at 7:16 PM #

Righteous fury baby! 4-0!!!! Drinks in Chapel Hill for me, and a little rubbing of salt into the wounds of some UNX friends. GO PACK!!!

  24. bill.onthebeach 11/20/2010 at 7:16 PM #

A true classic. AKA Ali and Frasier. The Thriller on the Hill. Say what you like about UNC. We took their best punches — 3 FGs in first half. Both teams made their ‘adjustments’ at the half. Then the 1-2 killer knockout combination: Spencer’s catch & *the* 87yd punt return. Most teams would have quit at that point. Not today.

But the best part has to be actually seeing *real football* in the fourth quarter from our team. 11 plays-8runs-6plus minutes up the middle of the field. Real football is a lineman’s game, especially in the fourth quarter. Win or lose, that’s how the big boys play in the SEC & the Big10. No tricks. No gadgets. Just *real football*. That’s how you get in the perennial Top 20 and stay there.

Had that been the case against Va Tech, ECU and Clemson, our beloved PACK would be undefeated this year.

So now that we have seen it *live*, we should expect no less than the same *every* game from now on.

And for what it is worth, I not so sure that Ms. Yow didn’t have a *football* strategy session with TOB recently. Imagine that.

  25. Wulfpack 11/20/2010 at 7:26 PM #

Justice is served (on the field). Great win. It wasn’t pretty, but feels so sweet. We had to be awakened. That can’t be the case next week with it all on the line. This is too good an opportunity to screw the pooch against Maryland. TOB has a very busy week ahead indeed.
