NC State/FSU Live Blogging

I already spilled lots of virtual ink explaining how important I believe this game is. Rather than re-hash it, let’s just say I’m eager to see if we can finally have a signature win to be proud of. It’s ours for the taking tonight.

Now, TAKE it, damn it!

UPDATE – Consider it taken!!!!!!!!!!

I just got home, the entire bar here in Little Town, PA was pulling for State as the night went on. I do not know how long it will take to come down from this win. I rally need to go to bed, have to get up early tomorrow. I have a crappy (actually have to play in animal manure all day tomorrow – YES I AM AN AG ENGINNERING MAJOR) day planned tomorrow. Even though I will stink all day, I will have a grin from ear to ear all day long.

I agree with others, I will love watching TV and college football all weekend.

Go State, Go Bill and Mary!!!

Several folks gave the defense a hard time there at the end when they could barely slow FSU down and it looked like they were going to score to win the game. I was dismayed by how easily they moved the ball on that last possession as anyone, but the defense as a whole deserves HUGE kudos. Holding them to only 3 pts in the second half is what made the difference in this game.

    LOVE IT, wirogers!

Coach 13… keep the political crap on the sidelines… lets just enjoy the pack winning!!!!

It’s amazing how much better we are when RW is allowed to play his style rather than being forced to play like John Elway. Glennon is a much better pocket QB but RW is a wonderful scramble QB.

Let RW play his game or we will continue to have issues. Good game and 2 half adjustments. Still amazed TOB went for it on 4th down (never knew he had it in him).

Why the hell are we not on the espn front page?

I have to catch a flight to the Left Coast at 5:30 am. Uh, I’m pulling an all-nighter now. Who could sleep now????

Awesome win! This is probably the biggest football win for us since we beat Notre Dame with P Rivers at the helm. You can say that the fumble at the end was a gift but we gave them a gift in the game too with Wilson’s interception. Also don’t forget that #56 was charging hard up the middle on that play and I’m sure that was weighing in on Ponder’s mind when he took the snap. Nothing like beating some Seminole ass on a Thursday night in front of a national tv audience! GO PACK!

Dude, John Elway was perhaps the greatest improvisor since Fran freaking Tarkenton!!!!

    //Broncos homerism. Sorry.

Also, our running game looked much improved tonight. We were about to run the final blow touchdown right down their throats when we got that dingbat personal foul that killed the drive.

Truthfully, Plywood, if you read my comments from earlier you’ll see my main beef at the half was with TOB’s statement blaming the entire first half meltdown on Dean Haynes’ fumble. That sucked, certainly. But that didn’t bungle our ability to adjust to what FSU was showing. The first drive in the second half showed some tweaks that worked, and it was an impressive calculated and efficient drive. Bible gets credit for that just the same as me giving him a little hell for not letting Russell loose. RW is much more dangerous taking risks with his feet than his arm as we’ve seen repeatedly, good and bad, all season.

Bigger than ND. As big as that was, it was an exhibition, not a step towards a possible title. Woohoo!!!!!

Great win Pack! Enjoy this tonight and then go to work on the Clempson game plan. Keep rolling to the title!

Can someone please tell lazy me who we’re pulling for this weekend as far as the ACC race goes? Thanks. I really don’t fell like looking at schedules and conference rankings and all that racket.

Of course it is awesome to watch RW connect on 40yd TD passes, but to watch the offensive strategy change in order to exploit the defense and win was epic.

TOB must have had one hell of a locker room speech prepared. Never heard it take so long to get to his postgame interview.

  16. runwiththepack 10/28/2010 at 11:34 PM #

I admit to grumbling to myself about the Pack when they’re down (like 7-21, for example). But I don’t get actually posting such negative defeatist thoughts, esp. when considering that many of “our boys” may be checking in on this site to read what we say about them.

Our boys are 6-2 now for the first time in what seems like forever, incl. 2 close losses. Our boys have not been blown out all year so far. How long has it been that we can say that? Def. not LAST year.

Now TOB is seeing what he could have done maybe last year if he wasn’t decimated with injuries and such. Most of this years’ stars were here last year, with the notable exceptions of Nate Irving and Jeff Rieskamp.

    YES!

    ^Sorry, delayed reaction 🙂

And yes, it is taking FOREVER to get to the postgame interviews.

Well I’m sure we don’t want Clemson to beat BC or Maryland to beat WF that would give either team 3 wins in our division.

  19. tjfoose1 10/28/2010 at 11:36 PM #

    x

  20. tjfoose1 10/28/2010 at 11:36 PM #

Awesome! Excellent! Great effort from players and coaches alike! Offense, defense, special teams, OL, DL, DB’s, LB’s, RB’s, WR’s, RW, and kickers!

And kudos to Davis for that big play to the goal line, making amends for his mistake causing RW’s interception.

    Big kudos to coaches. HUGE!

But W T F were we doing in our base D on their last drive? … with our corners giving 10 – 15 yd cushions?!

We did the same thing at the end of the first half… but anyway.

BTW, to all of you calling for #16 to give way to Glennon, Russell says “Bite Me!”

  21. highstick 10/28/2010 at 11:37 PM #

Anyone who spells CLEMPSOn without a “P” this week is on my “bad list”!!!!!!!!!

  22. MrPlywood 10/28/2010 at 11:38 PM #

Go Pack! Onward and upward! Until *edit: CLEMPSON* fellas….

  23. BJD95 10/28/2010 at 11:38 PM #

If we lose to UNC, then we need someone else to beat FSU (Carolina or Clemson, realistically).

If we lose to Clemson, then I think the Tigers also need another loss (of course, someone has to lose the Clemson/FSU game).

If we lose to Clemson and UNC, we’re SOL.

Nothing else matters, since we won’t lose to Wake or MD. I promise.
