This is frustrating – no idea why Lowe insists on playing the “red” team vs. quality opponents – it’s like giving them 7 points. And I don’t have a problem w/ any one of the team members, they shouldn’t be on the floor at the same time.

Chop, excellent point. We had to sub four guys in just to stop the bleeding at one point there. Use them as subs, not as a second line. And where’s Mays?

Does anyone on the State bench have the ability to show any emotion?

We are unbelievably fortunate to be down only 7 pts. at the half …

We play scared … For the life of me I will never understand that … Basketball is an agression game and we play as if we are in awe of the other team … It seems it has been that we for the past 12 seasons or so

I imagine Clemson wins going away, but the fact we’re only down 7 and actually have the slightest of chances is amazing

The only saving grace is that we out-rebounded them that half … I wouldn’t expect that to happen in half 2, so we better shoot 50% + and STOP TURNING THE BALL OVER

    Heh, yeah right

We have a lot of unforced turnovers. Bad enough we crap the bed against the press, but we’ve just plain thrown the ball out of bounds 4 or 5 times. And someone needs to take a note that Trevor Booker is in the shot-blocking mood and factor that in. Tracy Smith looks a bit slow getting his shots up and they’re all getting knocked away.

There are some positives here, mainly we’re lucky to still be in this. But we are playing pretty solid defense. Our offense is beyond pathetic, however.

That was as bad as we can possibly play offensively, and as good as we can play defensively. From an aesthetics standpoint, it was about as pleasing to watch as Rosie O’Donnell performing “The Vagina Monolgues.”

My guess is that Clemson makes halftime adjustments offensively and wins by 25-30 points.

I keep getting stuck in “moderation.” Is it the word “c-r-a-p”? I’ll try it again without that apt description.

Clearly these guys have no ability to learn from their mistakes. They make the same mistakes over and over. I don’t think you can blame the coach because I think he just has a group of players that are unteachable.

Anyone know where I can listen to this online?

Last three possessions in the half, two turnovers, one got blocked. Unbelievable!!

  11. choppack1 01/10/2009 at 12:55 PM #

Once again – the team has come in here w/ a decent game plan, but brief lapses in focus and odd substitution patters have hurt us.

I’ve got to say – I’m becoming less and less a fan of the “whistle”.

Degand played a pretty good half, we rebounded very well. We came in prepared – and we’ve played pretty hard (as demonstrated by the rebounding.)

One area we should change in the second half – no layups or floaters around the hoop. If you are close – throw it down.

  12. ncsslim 01/10/2009 at 12:56 PM #

How many layups must we miss, whether it be Little Ben, his replacement, or whomever. You’re correct, we play scared, as in shitless. A tough team to watch.

We do not appear to be remotely well coached and it only seems to get worse with time.

  13. Afterglow 01/10/2009 at 12:56 PM #

I think this game may be easier to watch if everytime we turn it over we take a swig of beer.

Curious lineup toward the end of the half with Degand and Javi both out there. I can’t really see that one. Javi’s not a lot of help getting the ball up the court and he’s not much of an offensive threat. (Then again, neither is anyone else today.)

    Free Julius Mays!

What’s up my frustrated state fan brothers. I am new to joining this site, but have bled state red all my life. Alumni of 2000. Anyway, just won’t to join in the converation, finally some people to vent with.

  19. BJD95 01/10/2009 at 1:06 PM #

Who is this team and what have they done with our Wolfpack?

  20. Rochester 01/10/2009 at 1:07 PM #

We are on fire. Tie game. Whatever Sid said at halftime, it worked. Maybe it was the Vince Lombardi speech.

  21. VaWolf82 01/10/2009 at 1:08 PM #

The game is also on ESPN 360….which is better than nothing.

I honestly think this club had their asses chewed out during halftime, with emphasis on McCauly. Admin, will you please send Cowdog a new password? I’ve been asking for 2 weeks. Don’t care for writing nom de plume.

Sid’s big coaching adjustment: “Uh, guys, the ball goes IN the basket”

  24. BJD95 01/10/2009 at 1:13 PM #

I was just getting ready to praise Fells, then he blows the layup. Now, back to wanting to strangle him (default setting).

  25. Rochester 01/10/2009 at 1:13 PM #

Looked like Fells didn’t pace his steps off right on that fast break f-up. Two more points we gave away.
