Anyone know the last time we won 4 straight.

  2. Tar Heel Fan 11/10/2007 at 10:32 PM #

Just to set the record straight, I just rewatched the end of the game and TOB did shake hands with BD at midfield as soon as the game ended.

I don’t know that I’ve been to a game as great as this one. Sure it was ugly at times (namely the third quarter) and I don’t know that my heart can take any more victories like that one, but to be able to see my Wolfpack beat the Tarheels in Carter-Finley was easily the greatest moment of my life so far. I suppose that’s up to all of you to figure out if that’s saying something or not…

According to the ABC coverage map, they are going to supposed to show the BC-MD game here (VA)…..but we’re getting Kansas-OSU.

I expected BC to smack MD around, but it’s tied at 14 at the start of the 2nd quarter.

I won’t be able to talk right for about a week. My seats are in the new bleacher sections (the old Finley field house) and during that last goal line stand..I thought the entire section was gonna fall. ALL THE STATE FANS WERE JUMPING AND SCREAMING….I COULD FEEL THE BLEACHERS SHAKING!! THAT’S fan support and we fans were truly the 12th man today. WAY TO GO WOLFPACK!!!

NOW we’re gonna do it on the hardwood!

This one’s for Frank………GO TO HELL CAROWHINA!!

    Tar Heel Fan,

I didn’t see that final second of play after UNC gave it up on downs. I stand humbly corrected, my apologies for mouthing off without varifying it for myself.

    BTW…..Hurricanes 4 Thrashers 3 11:40 remains 3rd period.

2002? The Gator bowl year, I believe.

Anybody watching BC/Md? Did you see the Md DB look directly at the official, waiting to see if he would be flagged after making slight contact while breaking up a pass? The DB made his ownself look guilty as hell by looking at the official. The flag came flying, very late.

Uh oh, the Terps are looking pretty good against BC.

  12. beowolf 11/10/2007 at 10:57 PM #

redfred, I’ve been hoping to revisit that one.

P.S. Duck-Rabbit Milk Stout is really good. But a win like this demands something better than Guinness. I recommend Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout.

Rabid, we must have been sitting close, because I was in that section too. The fans I was around were in general the most cordial I’ve encountered in a dozen years coming to CF…Right below the jumbotron with a sky-view of the final series. Nice original, puerile banter too, broham; you think that one up all by your self?

and of course there are obnoxious Carolina fans who do stupid stuff–I hate them exponentially more than you guys do–and I would never deny that. The whole frat boy set, particularly. However, they don’t direct it at State…that’s my only point regarding ass (sorry for the salty language again!) fans and the “go to hell” sentiment et al.

the heels hung tough. Gotta give ’em that. 2 ints and long returns kept them in the game. They totally fooled us on the halfback pass. Otherwise, Pack looked pretty good today. 29 especially.

When do we get to see Butch “slap” himself?

  16. gumbydammit 11/10/2007 at 11:15 PM #

ah it is rewarding not only to win over UNX (which I use because I detest that institution and all of its fans to the point that I cannot type the letters used by others) but to see its fans demonstrate all that I criticize them for… Frankie gets upset that I use UNX, though he previously knew not why – he just whines about it anyway, then hurls insults. As for the ref warning the band, the UNX band’s behavior AFTER his warning was so obviously different than before the warning that only a fool or a delusional UNX fan would argue that the ref did not issue the warning. But then again, I’m referring to a UNX fan that goes on an NCSU message board and complains about it’s regular users… let’s see, he called me “pinhead” and “dipshit”, and I did not refer to him in terms of such insults…although I did use a colorful analogy about how hard it will be to get rid of him…

How about those Wahoos laying the wood to UM – that’s got to be good for our power rankings – our neutral I guess since WE BEAT THEM BOTH!

  18. redfred2 11/10/2007 at 11:23 PM #

    FrankM,

But you don’t understand, it’s the smug, we own your ass, attitude that has evolved during some of the worst coaching that NCSU has had, in my lifetime anyway. That’s been the case in basketball for what seemed like an eternity, and more recently in football these past few years. UNC fans, just like our young fans and maybe an AD or two, don’t anymore understand why NC State thinks it’s priviledged enough to even be considered a rival of the Tarheels.

Well sir, that’s all changing back to the way it once was, and the reason we feel this way is going to become even more apparent as the coming months go by.

  19. gumbydammit 11/10/2007 at 11:32 PM #

another interesting note is that we used a lot of highly effective misdirection plays in Q1 to churn up yardage, and with the exception of the one pass to Marcus Stone, did not go back to any misdirection at all in the 2nd half – most of the misdirection plays came from the opposition.

  20. beowolf 11/10/2007 at 11:35 PM #

Sorry, had to do it again.

Sorry, couldn’t resist… the, um, wife made me do it… or was it the jack….

and Beo…. keep that rolling– in fact, it is your daily mission

  23. packplantpath 11/10/2007 at 11:42 PM #

Frank, since I’ve noticed you like to sound oh so intelligent and high and mighty, I thought I would point out that the thesaurus has more than one word that means “childish”. Try using juvenile, sophomoric, immature, or callow. Those should get you through a few more posts without sounding too redundant in your choice of words.

  24. noah 11/10/2007 at 11:45 PM #

gumby, that’s because they stopped overloading to the strong side. They stopped biting on the misdirections and were taking away the intermediate pass routes.

  25. SuperStuff 11/10/2007 at 11:48 PM #

Our defense dominated them. They only had 12 yards rushing and one trick play for their only offensive touchdown. If not for Evan’s interceptions giving them two TDs they would not have even been in this game. Gotta love the way our defense played today, how so many different different receivers caught balls, and how well Eugene ran today. I don’t give UNC-CH any credit except for being lucky to be close at the end.
