Highstick – I don’t know that one, but I like it. How old is it? Be great to add to the cheer list.

Redfred – thanks for the tips on not bothering to correct my typos – I guess it will only add to the amusement. Of course, then I see you correcting yourself! lol. sometimes you have to though – or the meaning of your post is lost.

Any word on the time/TV for the Wake game fellas?

Here’s one for all the whiney “refs cost us the game” fans at the Tard Pit – from the Oct 8 N&O “Carolina Postgame Clipboard” –

Yates was about as perplexed as the fans by a first-quarter roughing-the-passer call on Miami — because he wasn’t hit on the play. “I think somebody missed something,” he said laughing, “because I was just looking around. I’ll take it, but I didn’t get touched.”

The 15-yard penalty occurred on a third-and-11, giving the Tar Heels a first down. UNC eventually scored a field goal on the series to make it 10-0.

Yes Virginia, the ACC officiating crews absolutely have it in for the Holes…..

Only a couple of things I can add:

    1) I thought Bible called a pretty good game overall. But given the pressure UNC was putting on Evans, it was really surprising that we didn’t run a single draw or screen the entire game.

    2) As far as the officiating goes; yes they were letting them play, no problem with that. My beef was with how much they were letting go on after the whistle. There were 5 or 6 different times the UNC defense could easily have been flagged for extracurricular stuff after the tackle. The most egregious example was the defender who kept twisting Eugene’s ankle long after the play was over.

Totally agree, BobLee. This is what the NCSU-UNC series is all about. Now we both have to grow our programs, so the whole country can see and feel what we’ve known our whole life: it just don’t get any better than this!

The name is a joke, noah, you schmuck. I just googled it and came across this Superbowl victory celebration.

BTW, I didn’t see any Heels fans complaining about the field goal vs. UVA counting if that’s what you’re talking about above. It was clear that it went through the uprights and bounced back out – but was clearly good. People were actually bitching about how obvious it was that the ref didn’t call it right away b/c he was standing right there looking at it go through.
