Updated: Amato’s Remarks Go National

Perhaps this will stretch out into a three day story. In any event, we check in at #5 in ESPN.com’s “Bottom 10”. I must admit that the logo (wolf wearing gaudy sunglasses) is pretty clever.

Think that is bad? Try this one on for size. Fresno State head coach Pat Hill ripped into Amato yesterday.

“Why don’t we play a game?” Fresno State’s coach said on Tuesday night. “Just tell him instead of talking — if they want to talk about us, then let’s play. Play us in Boise. See if they want to do that because if they have dates available, say we’re available to play.

“Just to let ’em know so they won’t have any excuses, we won’t have any [non-qualifiers], we don’t have any junior-college transfers and our APR is very, very good.

“So if they want to play against a school that doesn’t have all those advantages like they think we do, they oughta want to play.”

Also Terry Pluto of the Akron Beacon Journal rips Amato saying “N.C. State coach lacks facts“.

Isn’t this alot of attention for a program that hasn’t been nationally relevant since the heartbreaking 2003 loss at Ohio State?

GoldenChain — your line sounds like the line from Godfather III (modified)

“Every time I think it can’t get any worse for the Pack — they keep pulling me back in.”

“Sorry Chuck, your punishment is to stay!”

Depressing, but funny stuff none the less!!!

Regardless of what Chuck says, We still have Jesse Holley to keep things honest AND keep State fired up!! Good luck with S. Miss.

Every time I tell myself that it cannot become more torturous to be a State fan……..it does!

Were you talkin in general, or specifically pointing to my post directly above yours?

Doesn’t matter, your’s was a good answer, either way!

Right now my beef with Amato is exactly one of my biggest complaints about Sendek through the years… they make excuses. Neither obviously understands the type of people our alumni base is predominantly made of. The very background of our culture is that we’re not excuse makers. We’re not academics trying to philosophize about why something happened. We’re people who apologize for mistakes and take action to fix them.

Why can’t any of our coaches just man up and say “We’re in bad shape. I take responsibility for it. I’m doing all I can to fix it.” If he would just come out and say that I think the majority of the heat…. at least from his own people… would be over… at least for the time being.

Right on, GAWolf. Great comments about our culture and expectations.

RF2 may have hit on the cause of Chuck’s problem. Steroids would account for both the big chest and the bad mouth.

I’m glad somebody finally saw a little humor in that.

I was really beginning to believe my wife.

“This is off this topic but I just learned that the NCAA didn’t come up with the shorter game?faster clock rules. There is a committee of coaches that comes up with, it gets voted on by all, and then the NCAA enforces the rules. ”

I had no idea that the NCAA just enforced the rules the coaches came up with. I can hardly believe all the complaints the coaches have about the recruiting rules they came up with espeicially after they voted the rules in themselves.

Yeah. Coach Logan gave out this info on his show today. If you go to the 620/850 blog link you can hear the whole show today — tomorrow. You can find 850 blog on the main menu.

BTW Logan is very insightful. Enjoy hearing a coach’s perspective when he’s not attached to a school and has no intent to do anything else but NFL Europe work. He would be a great OC at any school.

Woody Hayes had a life-time pass at Ohio State — until he hit the Clemson player — and then he was gone. I’m waiting to see/hear what the University (AD or Chancellor) has to say. Nothing would surprise me.

Here’s Dave Glenn’s latest take – and it’s not pretty. (Not sure how accurate it is, but not pretty.)

He has done his version of the Coach’s talk to the team for UNC, Duke, and on this one to NCSU. What a coach neeeds to say. Also has the info in the post. Worth a listen live from 1 to 3 on 620 or the next day at the blog site.

^SFN — Some interesting topics can be found here daily that you might want to put up for all.

Thanks. I was shooked when Logan said (more or less) the media, fans and other will turn on you when you lose like NCSU did agains Akron. I wonder what he would have to say about Fowler.

And it began to sound like Darth Vader before he got to the rules thing.

Yeah — Logan and his producer learned about the bad tape post yesterday and they promised to re-post a new one without the glitch.

    Should be the 9/13 show.
