Some really interesting views this year and I admit, I’ve been out of touch with things on the site. So, going another direction and seeking opinions (which I know I’ll get…lol),

Cat was beat up some last year for being out of control, his speed is obviously an asset and liability ….. and then it seems this year he is trying to temper his aggressiveness which makes him look as if he doesn’t know what to do ….. except a lot of dribbling. Gott puts Lacy running the point and Lacy’s offense seems to suffer. I know that Cat has his issues but aren’t we better offensively as a team with Cat at Point? Lacy had 5 TO’s Sunday. And it appears that Cat is much better defensively than Lacy or Turner so I don’t understand? He broke all of AI’s records so he can obviously score, is it a head issue?

As earlier mentioned, why is it that KW sits so much, ex: ND second half? His point production, hustle and rebounding (sometimes) have really been an
    added lift. Don’t get it?

Playing time is going to be difficult for everyone. Is Gott attempting to play all the young guys more to avoid transfers?

Also, not going to throw stones at the coaches, the head coach can’t keep up with everything, so why aren’t the assistants helping with the substitutions in cases like the final couple of minutes in the ND game, Ex: defense for offense and vise/versa? OR are they and thats the problem?
A couple were unemployed when Gott brought them in.

LOL to myself….seasons over and I just put the “labels and players” together!!! LOL I could never put KH where it belonged.

Like most, hate to see Tyler go but if it ain’t working for you, make a change. He stepped up and made a move and I wish him nothing but success!

Thanks for all the insightful post from the folks in the know! I appreciate the time you folks put into educating the likes of me.

Yep, saw that…..pretty cool! Nick defeated a two time champ, wow. The program has a lot potential with the number of first and second year wrestlers. One of the few bright spots of the weekend.

I find it comical that anyone can even complain about Gott after the past 20+yrs of Les, Herb and Sid……… Certainly plays and personnel are easy
marks to point out “after” the game, I do it all the time!!

So whats the latest on BB recruits? Any talk on Juco options? Big’s?
The Wolfpack has taken it on the chin in all sports over the past few days, anything of encouragement out there?

(NCSU, 1979) Now that I’ve finally weeded thru all the info ads about the Obama refinance options and can offer my biased comments: Its time for our Athletic Dept to have some balls (no pun intended) and make a vocal stand for NC STATE……. 20 plus years of hugging the bottom of the rum barrel (maybe that’s just me), but as mentioned above, TJ hasn’t been Player of the Week all year? Really? That’s frigging criminal. Its about frigging time that someone SCREAMS POY!!!! If the selection is dependent on the Team performance, rename the God Darn award. Do the “voters” have there names published? If he’s not listed as a #1 or #2 on every ballot, exclude a Press Pass to the frigging voter, he’s not an unbiased participant and he’s not going to be any help to NCSU athletic except in a negative manner because he probably received his journalism degree at UNCheat!!! Oh, wait, is Roy still laying on the friggin floor and still hasn’t been T’d…… what a fu king joke!!! Wheres the Rum …….

I certainly can’t add any intelligent comments about our teams inability to play defense, enough has been printed. If its gotten better, I’m really scared. I will add that several weeks back I did comment about the “shooting mechanics” of several of our kids. Fortunately, soon after making that comment the kids seemed to start making more shots but for the last few games, those flawed mechanics have proven to be liabilities. (my comments were about poor arm, wrist and motion mechanics which just don’t add up to any consistency in shot percentages. just MHO). But it is what we have to work with……..
We didn’t have high ceilings for this years group and there were some exciting games, unfortunately, we lost most of the close ones. Hopefully, there will be another run. But can you imagine how the folks at Kentucky feel? Cal is getting some heat for his system which I find humorous! Preseason No 1 projections and where are they?? Just lost to no. 180 on the rpi…….

Unfortunately, the writing has been on the wall for some time! Young team with some future talent that will show moments of brilliance and hours of inconsistency. Like most Pack fans I maintained some “hope” but the reality is we are not a very good team. Stranger things have happen and who knows, maybe we’ll win out!! LOL…….

The Pack fan southern summary: same sh_t, different game, results the same with a big friggin L

All the other stuff is just for conversation: ref’s, freshmen, inexperience,
panic, etc……. every team goes thru the same crap, we just do it every friggin big game!!!

Well, I found a new way for the Pack to pull out a win, fall asleep at half time!!!! I have to admit, I didn’t have high expectations following the Terps 1 for 11 shooting and still only 5 pts behind. Then to have that three fall right at the half to go down by 9 …….. scoring only 20 in the first half, it just looked pretty dismal. Then, to wake up to see on the news we won…….what???? Great to see RT have some shots fall and build some confidence plus much better play from the Bigs and Lee…..

I agree with some many of the comments regarding our offensive issues but I would like to make a silly observation about mechanics. If you look at the shot mechanics of RT, you will see a lot of motion in his shot and a small twist, so you should expect him to be erratic. Barber and Lee are reasonably solid, TL has a little “twist” also and even Buckets has too much wrist motion in his shot to be a consistent threat from the foul line out but he’s just a natural scorer! A lot of our FT misses are by these guys that get the ball alot and their shots have mechanical questions.

I don’t know how to coach a college kid but by the time he’s in your program, I guess its too late to worry about changing his “mechanics” and you concentrate on the other tangible skills. Where are our skills and strengths?
