So whatever you do, don’t take any chances, scurry right on back to the middle of the road, right there along with the administration.

Yeah, that would SUCK to be mediocre. HORRIBLE is so much better.

Noah is the master of negativity. Reality-wise.

An excellent example which proves my point. And you don’t even realize it.

We know that we’re losing some players next year. If I had to guess at the headlines, I would guess that it has something to do with recruiting.

    Other “baddies” would include:

    Probation/NCAA sanctions;
The revelation that Bernie Madoff has been treasurer of the Wolfpack Club for the last several years; and, or
    Todd Turner has been rehired.

I will change the old addage “Skilled craftsmen don’t blame their tools” to “Losers don’t blame the refs.”

Yeah, they do. That’s what makes them losers.

I didn’t realize this but after reading the paper this morning I learned we failed to score a field goal the last nine minutes of the basketabll game.

I caught part of the game on the radio as I returned home. One of the announcers said, “That was our first field goal in 16 minutes.”

    Good lord.

I’m reasonably certain that if we pulled up at midcourt and just shot from there, we’d hit more than one every 16 minutes. When your offensive strategy is less successful than, “Shoot from 45 feet,” you have a bad strategy.

Firing Lowe WILL NOT fix our problem, period. It will throw us into another coach with young players, commitments gone, and behind on the recruiting trail for a year or two. I’d love to know which coach that we would want, wants this job now. Rick Barnes? Hahahaahahaha.

Awwww…poor you. Such a little victim. It’s so sad that there’s no CAUSE to this effect. The program’s sick. Yes, THAT must be it.

Firing a shitty coach won’t fix the problem of having a shitty coach? WHAT?

As to “what coach would want this job? Poor us!!!” — how about…all of them. Well, almost. Roy Williams isn’t coming here. Neither are about 10 others. The rest of them would.

The ACC represents the absolute highest point in college basketball. NC State is about…what…fourth or fifth on the totem pole in the ACC? We have 10 league titles, two national titles, a 20,000 seat arena, 30,000 students, no real academic restrictions, we’re a state school (lower tuition), and we play in a talent rich state.

We are INCREDIBLY well-prepared for a good hire. If you get a call from NC State, it’s like being a doctor and getting a call from Sloan-Kettering or Johns Hopkins. The fact that it ISNT the Mayo Clinic doesn’t mean that you don’t call them. Unless you already work at the Mayo Clinic.

The financial package that we put in front of our next head coach should represent a 300 to 500 percent raise. If you CANT make that hire, you shouldn’t be allowed to dress yourself and leave the house in the morning.

Is this really a thread on officiating? Really? The officials caused this team to lose an 18 point lead? Who was to blame for the 19 point lead lost against Miami?

It was the N&O and the UNC BOGs, I tell ya!

From the previous thread, someone asked “What do you do?”

BURY “Sid.” I mean, bury him. Immediately give releases to the kids he recruited. Apologize to the fans for hiring him in the first place. Fire all of the coaches. Fire everyone associated with him. Burn some sage when he’s gone.

Put together a reasonable financial package and then conduct a professional search. DO NOT go and hide up in your lake house under the table all day. (this is what happened last time.)

There is no reason why such a search would have to end up with Steve Lavin or some scrub assistant from the NBA who STILL thinks that if you call a TO, you get the ball at halfcourt.

And, “Well except Noah, when you’ve got such a sweet set up in Mom’s basement with a stack of vinyl and pictures of Natale Portman than why start going out and meet the world toady.”

I had a very nice walk in the park with my dog. Took my iPod and listened to some old stuff I haven’t heard in awhile. John Mayall and a Duke Ellington show from Stockholm in 1965. Far more enjoyable day than you kooks who actually watch “Sid” wave his hands.
