  • packalum44, you must not listen to Mike Krzyzewski very often. He is one of the absolute worst interviews you will ever hear. His Duke Basketball Reports on 620 AM every afternoon and postgame interviews are BRUTAL. He offers absolutely no insight whatsoever, rarely completes sentences, and his thoughts are all over the place. Far, far worse than anything I’ve heard come out of Sidney Lowe’s mouth. So with all due respect, I think you’re really reaching here.

“As to “what coach would want this job? Poor us!!!” — how about…all of them. Well, almost. Roy Williams isn’t coming here. Neither are about 10 others. The rest of them would.

The ACC represents the absolute highest point in college basketball. NC State is about…what…fourth or fifth on the totem pole in the ACC? We have 10 league titles, two national titles, a 20,000 seat arena, 30,000 students, no real academic restrictions, we’re a state school (lower tuition), and we play in a talent rich state.”

I thought we debunked that theory the last time around? Nobody was lined up to come here, as sad as that is to admit.

Can we afford a 300-500% raise in these economic times? If so, why the hell didn’t we do that after Sendek split?

packalum44, no one felt sorry for UNC because they were underperforming and everyone EXPECTS them to be great. Getting rid of those two was just what they had to do to regain greatness. Lil ol’ NC State, on the other hand, should have been happy with Sendek’s results they said, and thus we get hammered in the media for running away Saint Herb. We all saw the articles and heard the talking heads.

If there is anyone here who might know (and isn’t pulling things out of their ass) – what are the chances that Lee Fowler is shown the door? Or has what appears to be improvement in the football program earned him more goodwill from those in power?

I’m not calling for Lowe’s head this year, but there’s no harm in trusting someone (read: NOT LEE FOWLER) to put some feelers out there and conduct a very stealth search to see who’s interested in our job. If we can find a very good coach who shows serious interest in the job, only THEN do you consider firing Lowe. If not, you retain him. The last thing we need is a repeat of the last fiasco.

“BURY “Sid.” I mean, bury him. Immediately give releases to the kids he recruited. Apologize to the fans for hiring him in the first place. Fire all of the coaches. Fire everyone associated with him.”

Yeah, that’s going to really earn goodwill from other coaches and entice someone worth a damn to come here. If we got the cold shoulder from the coaching fraternity for “running Sendek out of town”, how the hell do you think they’re going to respond to the completely classless suggestion you made?

Simply put, this is the worst officiating job I have ever seen, and I am by no means exaggerating. Suspensions are warranted here. With that said, we had to keep our composure and fight through it, and we didn’t.
