Maybe the assistant coaches turned us down to interim, heh : )

True about the Head Hunting agencies making the calls instead of the AD, but unfortunately Miller said he hasn’t been contacted “by anybody” so I assume that means no one has contacted him about our vacancy, including search firms.

Nobody is going to contact Miller directly.

Coach Daddio Miller is the intermediate.

So Chop are you saying he could be leaving our program in worse shape than just the roster?

There’s some negative chatter out in the websphere in that regard.

We will probably know in a few weeks if it is anything to be concerned about. Instinctively, I hear this stuff and I get concerned. Again, at this point, I am glad we have a stickler for the rules (by everything I can tell) in Deb Yow…I think she will / has done the needful if there’s needful to be done.

The rumblings aren’t encouraging – but hopefully it’s just dreamcasting by those who would wish ill will upon us and general hysteria.

Does anyone know whether we reached out to Archie in 2011 and he turned us down or was it only his brother that turned us down?

Chops. Check all timelines, and quit the fretting.

They would have already been here, and gone. You would have known months ago.

wtf are the rumblings? these “i heard such and such rumour” and then talking around them honestly aren’t worth the time it takes to read them without context.

On another note the best part of the Archie comments are that he did NOT slam the door on us.

Is the program being investigated by the NCAA?

Sage advice Cowdog – saw timelines and charges and had done those deductions….But I would be more worried if we actually had something to lose this year.

Someone posed a question about guessing our next coach. Full disclosure, I have no clue, but I did pull up a list of all of the D1 coaches and weed out the following.
    – Less than 3rd season at school
    – Not been at same school more than 7 years
    – at least a modicom of success (including current year)

The list is much shorter than I imagined only using these criteria.

Power 5 Conferences + Big East

Steve Wojciechowski (40): 3 years @ Marquette Golden Eagles
Kevin Willard (41): 7 years @ Seton Hall Pirates
Chris Collins (42): 4 years @ Northwestern Wildcats
Chris Holtmann (45): 3 years @ Butler Bulldogs
Cuonzo Martin (45): 3 years @ California Golden Bears
Andy Enfield (47): 4 years @ USC Trojans
Ed Cooley (47): 6 years @ Providence Friars
Frank Martin (50): 5 years @ South Carolina Gamecocks
Greg McDermott (52): 7 years @ Creighton Bluejays
    Billy Kennedy (52): 6 years @ Texas A&M Aggies
    Fran McCaffery(57): 7 years @ Iowa Hawkeyes

      Mid-Majors

    Archie Miller(38): 6 years @ Dayton Flyers
    Earl Grant(40): 3 years @ Charleston Cougars
Dan Muller(40): 5 years @ Illinois State Redbirds
    Pat Kelsey(41): 5 years @ Winthrop Eagles
Dan Hurley(43): 5 years @ Rhode Island Rams
Kevin Keatts(44): 3 years @ UNC Wilmington Seahawks
Joe Dooley(50): 4 years @ Florida Gulf Coast Eagles

There are surely folks on here that we wouldn’t want or wouldn’t want us, but using tenure and a measurement of success GREATLY weeds out the number of head coaches in our target pool. Interesting exercise anyway.

^^ Yes, it is not a great year to be coming up with one’s “B” list. Frankly, if we don’t get Arch I would be stuck praying that Tom Crean gets fired.

    Yep, Archie is my #1.

    If not…
    – Wojo and Enfield are my top 2 from the Power5
    – Keatts and Dooley from the Mid-Majors

    Wojo? Seriously? Gross.

If you’re looking at Duke alums,
    Collins >>>>>>> Wojo.

Gross? I’m not advocating any phyiscal contact with him. am I? 🙂

Just thinking Wojo was more realistic and less arrogant than Collins. Now if Collins grew his hair out and got a perm like his old man did in the late 80’s … just sayin’

I would rather have any of our former players over any former Dukey or Heel. Even rather see Bryant Stith on the sidelines than those floor slappin, hand checkin fools.

Collins and Wojo have Northwestern and Chattanooga both better than Lowe ever sniffed at State.

EDIT – Greywolf we kinda overlapped in time/post there. This was not in response to you FWIW.

I hate it when that happens. No offense taken.

I actually missed your comment until I was reading all the wonderful comments being made — insulting NC State, Gott, Yow. Willis Casey, Norm Sloan, etc. The only one associated with this mess who has escaped criticism is Anya. 🙂

    1 Miller
    2 Marshall
    3 Collins
    4 Martin

Gauge interest in that order. If none bite, then just offer Keats or someone on that 3rd tier by week 2. Done deal.

NCAA mess is crap spewed by our enemies to try and wreck our search. The timing is too clear. They’ve been after us since we exposed them. Fake news time. The supposed timelines don’t even make sense….

Wojo is at Marquette. That being said, I don’t know why either should be a candidate for our search as they have both done absolutely nothing remarkable at their respective schools.
