Brandon Mitchell to start @FSU

Brandon Mitchell

Brandon Mitchell will return for the Wolfpack on Saturday in Tallahassee, as the Pack tries to keep up with the 3rd ranked Florida State Seminoles in Doak S. Campbell Stadium (3:30pm ABC/ESPN2).

Despite being ranked 3rd in both major polls, Florida State debuted at #2 in the first BCS standings of the season.

Mitchell, who began the season as the Pack’s starting QB vs La Tech, went down to injury with a broken foot only 15 plays into the Pack’s opener vs the Bulldogs way back on August 31st.  Since that time, he’s spent considerable time looking like this….

It will be nice to see him once again look like this….

NCAA Football: Louisiana Tech at North Carolina State

Before his early exit that day, his stat line was 3/3 passing for 93 yards (including a 56 yard strike to Rashard Smith), and 5 rushes for 19 yards.  Hopefully he can shake off the rust reasonably quickly and add a bit more dimension on the offensive side of things, and maybe even keep the Pack closer than the Vegas boys think.

State is currently a 4+ touchdown dog on Saturday.

Rob Crisp and Daryl Cato-Bishop both continue to be conspicuously absent from the Pack’s depth chart.

It is becoming more and more likely that Crisp, who will miss his 5th consecutive game after suffering a concussion on Sept. 7th vs Richmond, may not see the field again in ’13 and may instead go the medical redshirt route.

Kickoff for the Carolina game next weekend (November 2) will be at 12:30pm.  Obviously, that (stupid) time means the game will be televised on the ACC Network.

The spread is spreading, now 32. Vegas is paying attention but few of the sports talk show experts are. Everybody is talking about FlaSt v Miami as if the Noles have a bye this weekend.

Why are they bothering talking about FSU – Miami? The Noles are going to crush the U as well. Miami simply isn’t that good.

If I was Miami…. I would be taking the Demon Deacons very seriously….

I’m feeling real good about the possibility of an upset in that game.

    Mr. Dog…. ??
What do your buddies in Vegas say about that ??

True, Clemson was ravaged by FSU, but I truly think Clemson is better than what we saw, not saying they should have won, but in that regard, we had every chance to beat Clemson ourselves, but thanks to some incompotent officiating, and a back up QB, who didn’t play badly, we lost. We probably will lose Saturday, but the game may be much more interesting than we think, with our starting QB, and competent officiating. Should the upset occur, we will be all over the television.

Glennon looks good. The so called experts said he couldn’t play or wasn’t as good as Freeman but he can play in the NFL

Glennon is in trouble in Tampa. Not his fault but things are bad there and I would expect a total remake. While he made some good throws, he made some very poor ones as well and did not lead Tampa to any meaningful points. Tampa scored a garbage TD late in the game. I don’t think he makes it there. Perhaps there is a better situation for him somewhere else.
