Congratulations, Miami

All week long, there was a pitched battle to see who could shovel the most dirt on Miami’s grave. With losses at Wake and at freaking home to freaking Georgia Tech…people assumed this team had just peaked too soon.

But it turns out, the Canes just had their lull at exactly the right time. And the scare against Boston College Friday afternoon pulled them out of it. They played fantastic basketball yesterday and today, and recaptured the form they had in January and most of February. In short, they played like the veteran team they are. Like the ACC’s clear best team, which they also are.

Don’t sleep on them in the big dance, either. They are a matchup nightmare for anyone, with two great guards (on both ends of the court). But today is about the ACCT, and its very deserving champion.

Three hours until the brackets are revealed.

Miami got a great draw. They can definitely make it to Atlanta.

Temple has beaten Cuse, Nova and St Louis, but Duke murdered them.

Clearly, Ole Miss is out without winning the SEC title today …

Boise and La Salle both get in as well … I like these play-in games. They’re not rewarding power conference mediocrity.

Actually the committee chairman said Ole Miss was in win or lose today. Dance Card had Temple at 45 and us at 31 so a pretty big difference.
