UNC-CHeat football assistant shows ‘Carolina Way’ in Sidney Lowe tweet

It is great to see that the Carolina Way is not dead!!

You’ve got to see this. And, you’ve got to let every high school coach and top recruit in the state see this — because it can only serve to show the coaches and parents of impressionable young men what kind of great ‘leadership’ and ‘development’ to which they will subjective themselves if they choose to go to school and play football in Chapel Hill. (Oh, you read that correctly — students evidently really will have to ATTEND school in Chapel Hill to play football in the future.)

Shortly after the news broke today that former NC State player and head basketball coach Sidney Lowe had been arrested on tax related charges, an employee of the State of North Carolina used a device and an internet service surely provided to him by the taxpayers of North Carolina to issue this little gem of a tweet that takes an obvious shot at Coach Lowe’s misfortune:

Look, I love the State-Carolina rivalry; and, I can’t help but love how the RedBull Redneck and his staff continue to elevate NC State in the way they do things over there. I also love for fans to really go at each other just like we do here on SFN. But, none of us are supposed to be leaders of men. None of us are in positions where it is our responsibility to lead by example and develop the character of young men as college coaches like Gunter Brewer.

The gall that it takes to be a Tar heel is truly something that most rational humans could not remotely understand. It doesn’t even strike old Gunter as remotely sensitive that he currently is employed on staff of a University – and specifically a football program – that is in the middle of the ‘worst academic fraud in the history of college athletics’.

As an NC State fan, I would like to thank all current and former NC State coaches for not embarrassing our community by showing a lack of class when UNC women’s soccer coach Anson Dorrance was being sued for sexual harassment by his former players; or when UNC’s old wrestling coach was arrested for a DUI; or when strange things were afoot on a team coached by Ford and played for by McInnis; or when (I think you get the picture).

Ahhh how glorious it must be to be a Tar heel and live in a glass house?

I am including a picture of the tweet below just in case it mysteriously disappears.

Smile, since Sidney Lowe is not coaching NC State then i have a hard referring to him as an ‘NC State Coach’.

Wolf man, do you think that part of my indignation may be based just a little in the rivalry and stretched to make my point?

Love this site, but I’m going to come down on the “this post wasn’t necessary” side here. “UNC guy makes fun of NC State guy. Details at 11.” Not exactly man bites dog.

In Sid’s defense, he probably figured there was some loophole on paying taxes when you didn’t really earn the money being taxed.

I’m a little confused by the arrest. There must be some reason other than he didn’t file and pay his taxes, maybe the dollar amount involved? Believe it or not people falling behind and having to file 3 to 4 years of returns at once is not THAT uncommon. But it usually begins with a letter being sent to your house, saying…hey, you owe us X amount of dollars, pay up and file. Unless he was charged with tax evasion I’m not sure why he was arrested. Tax evasion and failure to file are two completely different things.

    Statefans. Ok works for me.

Let’s be honest, it’s not like there’s going to be a post breaking down why/how NCSU shot 36 more free throws than VT. Rest assured if those numbers were reversed with any team, multiple posts calling for exit from the ACC and head of John Swofford would’ve been written by now.

That tweet is funny, I don’t care who you are.

Any assistant coach on my staff would hear about it.

There’s funny, and there’s professional, and there’s the mirror.

While SF’s take is over the top for my taste, he is proper in pointing out what this man’s position is.

tdouble? Where do you buy your Carolina gear? Ya know, I give it to our own fans with the best of ’em. But…there always seems to be something decidedly “off ” with the postings that fly from your fingertips. Just lettin’ it be known from a personal standpoint. That’s all.

I agree with Oceanman YOU CANNOT FIX STUPID! To hell with unc-cheat!

Come on now, I think we are overreacting a bit to this. Its kind of funny to me. Its an assistant coach, nobody ever cares what this guy says until now.

“with all the BS at the UNC cheaters, none of our coaches have stooped to their level.”
Now we all thought it was great when TOB called out UNCheat and said “our players go to class”. He was a leader of men too. Sid was our coach, he is a Pack legend on the court, of course it will make news. If Matt Doherty didnt pay his taxes and got arrested, the blowback would be the same, in my opinion.

I’m a liitle confused… Perhaps Sid is just looking to join Obama’s cabinet?

If so, you all need to back off. This is just a resume enhancement.
