Gottfried says what we all are thinking

As reported on yahoo sports.

Gottfried responds to a question about Karl’s Hess’ ejection of two NCSU legends. I, for one, appreciate a coach who is willing to stand up for us. Most of the media seem to be in agreement that what Hess did is wrong but the ACC has refused to address this in an acceptable manner.

Gottfried states

I’m disappointed quite frankly in the ACC because not only did he throw out two of North Carolina State’s greats, he threw out two of the ACC’s greats. The league is supporting an official rather than supporting former great players. The former great players, in my opinion, were embarrassed and wronged when they shouldn’t have been. I don’t think you can have rabbit ears like that if you’re a referee and start throwing people out.

This is the kind of backbone we need at NCSU. Someone who is not afraid of the ACC and its built-in hierarchy. It never gets better for coaches that cower.

Now the question becomes, does the ACC rectify this matter or further inflame it by fining Gottfried for daring to comment about a referee.

I like the suggestion made on this thread.

Debbie Yow should publicly reprimand Gott for failing to follow athletic department procedures and state that she will re-iterate the policy with all our coaches.

“Don’t you think if Swoff really wanted to pull strings to help carolina he would have arranged Wolfpack WINS in the last two games, so as to put his team in 1st place?
The conspiracy stuff gets old and makes us look infantile.’

No, it is not a conspiracy in the sense that every detail is planned. No, it is more like Swof**** makes every conference move and decision to support the Puke/UNC-CHeats rivalry. Hires, alignment, rules, press releases, refs are geared toward that support. Nothing need be said. The only problem with that is that when the “dogs are out of the pin” they are hard to call back in. That is his legacy, he has destroyed a once proud conference for the sake of 2 nationally televised games per year.

The only thing I don’t understand is why the football schools (FSU, Miami, VT, Clemson) put up with it.

We have been disrespected! We should never let this go. We should demand an apology for every bad call that has ever gone against State. We really did win the Dook game! Let’s start our own conference.

There. How’s that? Is that what ya’ll want?

SFN: STOP feeding stillapackfan. He’s a troll registered under what is clearly an alias.

    “to support the Puke/UNC-CHeats rivalry.”

I was reading one of the articles on the UNC thread that quoted Les. When we imposed all the restrictions on our recruiting and academics, Duke and UNC went to a bunch of Final Fours and won 3 titles.

Part of the problem is we’re in a vicious cycle. Our earlier success and ability to compete for recruits probably slowed down the success of the UNC and Duke programs.

Hopefully we can snag Jefferson and start winning recruiting battles against our neighbors.

WOW again!!! I guess the events of the last few days and the sentiments of my fellow WolfPackers has caused me to post another comment. This is cool. Two comments in two days. A record for me.
Hey, here is what chaffs me. When I watch a game and listen to the “color analyst” I always get bent outta shape. I hear comments like – he’s got to be more intelligent then that – when we committ a foul. Intelligence never comes up when they committ a foul against us. I really hate it when Len Elmore and what’s his face calls our games together. I can’t stand it. Anyone who watches the game and listens to these guys come away with a feeling that we simply are not smart ball players and that when we win it’s on brute strength and athletic ability never because of smart disciplined play. I always get pissed because it sounds like every other school recruits doctors and lawyers to play for them and we recruit “special” students to play for the pack.
Reading the post today I for one am geeked because we have a coach who gets it. Herby simply didn’t get it. For some reason he always wanted to play nice with the blue garbage, all the while they were beating the brakes off his team. There was never the appropriate level of anger and passion when it came to losing to them. I thought he “coached” like a punk.
Now we have a coach who seems genuinely disappointed when he loses to anyone, but especially the blue garbage and I think this is going to go a long way in resurrecting the appropriate level of respect other school should have for us when they come in here to play us.
WE HAVE A COACH WHO HAS OUR BACK!!! LET’S MAKE SURE WE HAVE HIS!!!
Our motto and mindset should be to beat any and everything that walks on the court against us. That includes the zebras. If they suit up their grandmas – BEAT THE BRAKES OFF ‘EM!! If they suit up the girl scouts – BEAT THE BRAKES OFF ‘EM!! If they suit up tiny tim and the holiday handicapped team – BEAT THE BRAKES OFF ‘EM!!
We’ll love em once we leave the court. But on the field of battle – BEAT THE BRAKES OFF ‘EM.
To stillapackfan – there is a way to officiate a game that will have an impact on it’s outcome. I don’t understand why you can’t get this seeing as how it has cost our Pack so many games.
snakes are one of the most subtle creatures there is and it’s hard sometime to see them because of their camouflage. In this case for me it’s not hard to see the black and white stripes – especially when they are against the Red and White background. I’m not fooled at all. I see the snakes. Clean your glasses you might to!
