Great comeback win! I could not believe my eyes when we started making the run. If Sidney was coaching, we would’ve lost by 30

And I turned it off at 12 min. This is not possible. No way.

Holy crap… last I saw we were down by almost twenty. Going to watch the replay now.

How in the world did the score go from 65-47 to 67-75?? … 28-2 run… wow, just wow.

    ^Sit back, watch, and enjoy!

This *finally* happened for us, and not against us. Wow!

Way to go – never seen us get and make so many shots from the line. This is fun and hoops is going to be a heckuva ride this year.

    Great win…

Timberwolf, I would advise never doing that again. Best comeback I’ve seen by the Pack in so long, I can’t remember. Just incredible.

How many times do you remember during Herbivore’s reign did we go up by 18 and have it melt away? I can think of at least two ACC Tourney games where we got humiliated by losing this way.

I think there was a game where we were up by like 22 in the first half against Maryland only to let it slip away.

Then, there was that disgusting ACC Championship game back in 2003 where JJ got hot and dismantled us.

Glad we’re on the other side of this coin for a change.

You heard it here first: Mark Gottfried is going to go down as the BEST Coaching hire in the last 30 years in any sport at NC State.

We have got ourselves a coach!!! THANK YOU DY.

I enjoyed it and i think they’ll gain alot from having the breaks go our way… ntm the results from their hard work! at times it wasn’t pretty but again, they hung in there and look what happens. i’m definetly tipping my hat to alex johnson for his floor leadership and stepping up. he’s the emotional leader when needed it seems.

overall, i’m sure we’re not gelling or hitting on all cylinders but tough wins like this will certainly boost confidence for the team! congrats for a job well done!!

My wife (UT’81) came upstairs early in the second half when the Horns were winning comfortably. When I walked downstairs during the TO before Brown missed the FT that would have put us up by 9, she said, “So, did we beat you guys.” I then relayed the comeback and her face went blank. My son gave me a high five and I came back upstairs to watch the end of the most impressive win of the still young Mark Gottfried era.

That was awesome to watch. The mental part of it will be huge for this team later in the year. We will win at least one more game this season because of what we did tonight. GO PACK!!

This kind of a win is going to have those guys believing they can run through a wall. The confidence from something like this is going to carry them a long way.

    What a great win.

I learned my lesson never to walk away from a game when NCSU was down to Marshall in football with just a few minutes left back in 1990 or so. I was walking from the stadium to my car and heard the roars of the crowd. Once. (A TD) Twice. (Recovery of an onsides kick.) Three times. (TD to win.) I vowed then never to let that happen again.

Tonight was a different story as I’m in the mountains with the family with no access to the video. I decided to just read the liveblog after the fact — amazing way to “watch” the game. Would love to see some video now!

I love the emotion after the game from coach Gott. His team loves him. If anyone missed this game try to find a replay online. This is the start of something special. AWESOME COMEBACK!!. Oh yea and Derrick Whittenburg was calling the game.

Followed the game on the internet with no sound, then found out the radio was a few seconds ahead. Anyway it really looked bad when we went down by 18, and the team could have throwed in the towel, and would have in the past, but they didn’t and their efforts paid off. So proud of this team, that plays like a team. Thanks Gott!

    Herb guest-coaching for Texas apparently.

Can someone explain to me the fascination with Rick Barnes. I see an good recruiter that does nothing on the sidelines.

In other words…a better version of Leonard Hamilton.

Quick question…anybody know where I can hear a replay of the postgame show without paying for it? (live out of state)

  23. Packfan28 11/21/2011 at 10:25 PM #

ESPN will have it on thier site for a few days. They’ll probably put it out there later.

Great win. For those of us that had the chance to watch, it was a little surreal.

That said, D’Corwin Brown gets a ton of credit. Nation’s leading scorer, who is really the core of this Texas team, commits a foul and then mouths off at the ref. Got the T and went from 3 fouls to 5 in a matter of micro-seconds. It was a HUGE momentum shift in the game and our guys jumped all over them the very second that he went out. From there it was a 28-2 run. We then desperately held on for the win… Calvin could have iced it with 10sec to play but missed 2 of 2. We really need to shore up the FT shooting.

In the end, this was just the kind of game that NC State hasn’t seen in a long time… major opponent that WILL win a lot of games this year and down by a shit ton… never blinked, worked hard and won it. Fantastic effort and says a lot about character. As importantly, it’s a feather in the cap while we heal up a bit (both Brown and Wood are a bit gimpy). Hopefully we get right for Indiana b/c it’d be VERY nice to pull that one off and get in front of the OOC bus for NCAA selection 3mths from now.

Before the Princeton game, there was a post about “Taking it back”. This is another “take back” game. We no longer have a losing record against Texas, with the series tied at 2-2.
