NC State vs Georgia Tech Open Post

Will NC State start a bigger lineup against the inside oriented Jackets? Can the Wolfpack take down its third ranked oppoenent of the season?

Today’s game is huge for both State and Ga. Tech. Both needs win badly.

Post thoughts here and check Twitter during the game for a few updates/thoughts.

I agree about Johnny Thomas – why not sub him in for a few minutes? Definitely agree that Howell, Wood, and Smith play all 20 minutes of the 2nd half.

This is the part of being a wolfpack fan, that I call “hope”.

  3. JeremyH 02/06/2010 at 4:48 PM #

This is hope, because I dared to notice the 5th placed team in the ACC only has two more wins than us…. aww hope, you crazy bitC*&^*&^

thank God for scott wood. Without him we would be way out of this game. And i dont think its just me but i feel like every game we play in there is a play with potential of being high on the top ten…

I have been thinking on it for a few minutes now, and I still can’t figure out how State is winning.

    Wow.

    LMAO @ Jeremy…

We can win this game. Here’s to hoping SW stays hot.

We had 3 more offensive rebounds, made 2 more free throws, and two more 3 pt shots than GT. I said it before the season, this team will be as good as its three point shooting.

Another solid game plan in my opinion. We have clearly out played GT in this game (even though we did not in the first 10 minutes b/c of our turnovers). If Javi, Mays and Horner had made 1 of their 4 wide open 3s, then we’d have a 5 pt lead.

We need to find points from someone else in the second half. Even if Wood and Smith give us 10 each, we’ll need another 20 points to win.

Could this be the game CJW gives us a few jumpers?

Would love to get Favors his third foul quickly.

sorry Scott, not everyone can play above the rim

Gawd this is ugly. Glad I missed the first half. What does Sidney say to them at half. He must give out milkshakes to all, what ever it is they always come out sluggish.

Its so quiet in the place you can hear Sid yelling at the team. Great atmosphere.

On pace for a 20 pt half so far.

  15. 61Packer 02/06/2010 at 5:10 PM #

Best comment so far from announcers: “Looks like a pickup game so far”.

  16. BassPacker 02/06/2010 at 5:14 PM #

Only thing you can count on this team is that they will go on a scoreless drought in the second half. Question is if it will be for 7 or more minutes. So far its at 5.

  17. Rochester 02/06/2010 at 5:15 PM #

If they stretch it to 11 on their next possession we fold like a metal chair.

  18. JeremyH 02/06/2010 at 5:16 PM #

that is a very telling comment 61Packer, and it doesn’t bode well for those pacing fellas with ties.

  19. JeremyH 02/06/2010 at 5:16 PM #

forget ACC caliber, we have some guys that are not D1 caliber

  20. Texpack 02/06/2010 at 5:17 PM #

If they stretch it to 11, you have to ask whether or not we can score 11 more points by the end of the game.

These are the two worst coached teams in the ACC. Not surprised at the slop we’re seeing from each team.

where is Noah, I want to buy his koolaid

    “hard game to coach”
    “hard game to officiate”
    hard game to WATCH

We really miss Degand today. As crappy as Ga Tech is playing, we might be leading with someone in there who could slash a little. We’re getting none of that.

  25. Texpack 02/06/2010 at 5:22 PM #

8 turnovers and only six points in the last eight minutes.
