Lee Fowler to do live interview on 850 am Friday

While most people consider this a relatively quiet period for college athletics, it appears that Lee Fowler is doing a live interview on Friday morning on AM 850 – “The Buzz”.

In case you are out of the area and would like to tune in, 850 does offer live streaming audio. Maybe it is to discuss NC State’s baseball team and the potential of hosting an NCAA regional in a few weeks? It sounds like he is going to be interviewed by morning hosts Adam Gold and Joe Ovies.

This is a good thing – LF is his own worst enemy. There is no way any rational person could defend his record of (non)acheivement. I eagerly await his pearls of wisdom. They will only add fuel to the fire (Lee).

    Agree.

Will he be in the studio or is he doing a phone interview from his Lake Gaston cottage?

Has he been on yet? I’ve had the computer on since before 8 this morning and haven’t heard him yet, although I did have to run out for a short trip, but it’s 10 AM yet and I haven’t heard any reference to it.

Dang, while typing this I realized it’s only Thursday! Tell me I wasn’t ready to hear what Foulup has to say!

Can’t wait … this upcoming interview should greatly enhance our reputation as the “University of Athletic Incompetence” – a title we’re proud of and have maintained for years now … with the kind of leadership we have at the helm I foresee us having this dubious title for years to come

also, off topic, but I thought folks might find this article about “re-recruiting” high school athletes interesting given how we went through a coaching change in bball and released several recruits from their respective LOI’s … http://www.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/story/10826137/1 … please delete if inappropriate

Will he be ased to explain this men’s basketball disgrace? And his part in it?

    Good luck RAWFS-

Please let Fowler know how tired and sincerely disappointed we are in his lack of leadership. That we are a program going no where and a change at the top is much needed.

    Thank you.

Yep wolfpup, now there’s one where Lee Fowler was on the cutting edge of change. He set yet another NC State precedence by rolling over and dying well BEFORE THE RULES of the LOI stated that he had to.

That ol’ Coach Fowler, he’s a trendsetter.

Interview is tomorrow (Friday)). And unlike many, I’m not going to drive a stake into LF before he has even said a word. Let’s hear what he has to say.

Maybe you can ask him about his vacation home and when he expects to be spending more time there.

    I’m very torn.
It seems there are two likely outcomes: Fowler brings out the lunatic fringe comment or he gets made the fool. As much as I’ll enjoy hearing Fowler getting humilated, it’s not good for NC State Athletics.

NCSU96, you’re right, it’s not good for NC State Athletics, so the best solution would be for those “in charge of governance” at NCSU to do something about it! Fowler is not the cause of all our ills, he’s just one of the results!

    those “in charge of governance”

I think I’d just call them the “governors”. You know, like the ones that slow you way down when you’re trying to get from point A, to point B.

I’ll bet Lee probably has one on his golf cart.

I think what we see is the same problem that plagues a lot of top administrators in sports, education, politics and business. Many of these people enter a position with a lot of energy and ideas, they spend the next 24-36 months using that energy to put in their vision of what a program should look like.

After 3 years most people have an idea if the vision is working. If it is or isn’t working a lot of these folks just put it on cruise control and enjoy the paycheck.

It is the rare individual that continues to reinvent themselves and their programs. There are not many of those people around and why I feel most top level administrators shouldn’t hang around anymore then 6-8 years.
