“Coach” Fowler, Habitual No-Show

Lee Fowler must be a busy man with his fishin’ and avoidance of providing direction or oversight for any of NC State’s various underachieving coaches. He certainly couldn’t be bothered to make his scheduled appearance at the Wolfpack Club caravan in Charlotte. We hear this is becoming something of a pattern for “Coach.”

In any event, the Wolfpack Club booked very nice facilities for the caravan stop – the VanLandingham Estate, which could accomodate 200-250 people for such an occasion. However, only about 150 Wolfpackers showed up.

SFN heard from numerous locals before the event who simply refused to shell out even more money to NC State only to be told the same song and dance regarding our great facilities and Top 5 fans (so wins will magically follow). Also, don’t forget that you are not allowed to express your views in any way other than a private message to the Wolfpack Club or athletic department (which will promptly get a form response and a trip to the trash can or “Deleted Items” folder).

Bobby Purcell filled in for Fowler in Charlotte, FWIW.

State fans are already shelling out significant dollars for very little success in return. Why should they pay extra to have smoke blown up their asses and be talked to in such a paternalistic manner?

“I just correct myths & lies about current/past coaches that are posted here a lot. Rick has a personal grudge he has to get over.”

My “personal grudge” is I am sick of your one man campaign to refute every perceived slight against your hero Herb Sendek.
You have spent years being a pain in everyone’s rear. We have banned you at least once from this site and yet you come back to it and complain about it. If you do not like it do not come back. If you continue to support your hero you will be banned again.

So that is what they mean by that saying: “One monkey don’t stop the show”

Noah, that’s a great list of names, all with greats ideas, and all of them, their thoughts and the people themselves, coming from a totally different era. But times have changed, and drastically, since those powdered wig wearing days. It seems odd to me that the very same people who hold contempt for any form of government, the ones who will sit back and take joy in watching as it’s legs are slowly cut out from under it as every aspect of it’s foundation is being circumvented and compromised, are also the first to say that it doesn’t do enough to uphold what it’s founding fathers intended.

We see things from totally different perspectives anyway. I have young kids, and they’ll all be attending college in a few years. I also watch the news, and it’s not really terrorism that I’m concerned about at all.

You tell me how many times the word “random” comes up in the news today, then give me YOUR solutions to curtailing and minimizing it’s effects. As for me, I’m fine with simply emptying my pockets and walking on in.

    Then change the law.

Also, the problem isn’t a mindset by some people to be lawbreakers. The problem isn’t the presumption of innocence. The problem is that since 1981 or so, we’ve made this MASSIVE presumption of sanity.

The VPI kid…everyone knew that kid was bat**** crazy. The mental health workers couldn’t do anything about it. And it was perfectly legal for him to arm himself.

Remember…in the eyes of the law, Charles Manson is sane. Jeffrey Dahmer..sane. The guy in Atlanta who killed all those kids (Wayne Williams?)…sane. The guy who shot John Lennon…sane.

And on and on and on…

Noah, no new law or new gov’t program is going to change what you’re talking about. The rule of law is just a final circumstance, not the cure anyway. The laws are fine, they’ve just been twisted so far out of shape that they’d now be unrecognizable to those who first wrote them. Changing or adding new laws won’t insure that the people who are supposed to use them exactly as they are written, in black and white, won’t simply twist and “interpret” in the exact fashion they’ve done up until now.

A balance has to be struck, but everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, seems to be open to personal interpretation in this country right now. I personally don’t believe that The Founding Father’s ever imagined, or intented it to be that way.

^Apologies, that’s fun stuff to debate, and I could go on, and on, and on, but this isn’t the right forum.
