“Quest for Last” Almost Complete

With Virginia’s 76-74 win over Georgia Tech last night, NC State is just one small step away from claiming the cellar in the ACC, along with the #12 seed in the ACCT. As long as the Wolfpack loses as expected at Wake Forest on Saturday (or Virginia and Boston College each wins 1 of its last 2 games), the quest will be complete. The Pack loses all tiebreakers, having won no games against Virginia, Georgia Tech, or Boston College.

If Courtney can’t shut down Teague, something is wrong. Courtney has size, length, athleticism…SHUT HIM DOWN!! The other match-up is containing Johnson.

Wake sucks, and so do we. But it’s senior day for them (assuming they have any seniors), and I think we emptied our clip against Duke. I would take Wake and the points, no matter how high the line is.

^ I remember after our first game with Wake that GG talked about how good teague was and we really didn’t have a good match up for him.

I suspect he will get his points and we will need to focus onthe others. Wake has been very good at home this season… a win there would be nice but unexpected at this point.

chopnhpack1 If wake is collapsing what in the world do you think we are doing??? Imploding?

We’ve hit rock bottom – our guys may have finally realized how bad it is and how much more rewarding it is to play hard. The question is, does Wake now?

I’d actually argue that w/ our senior and Hickson playing for the NBA and some guys who’ve been riding the pine getting minutes now, our guys MAY have more motivation. Of course, I don’t know Wake well enough to determine if they have the same issues. I know they start an athletic, fast lineup of Ish Smith, Teague, LD Williams, Johnson and McFarland. I know that their students are out of town.

It’s also worth noting, our guys are playing to stay out of the cellar or to avoid sole occupancy of the cellar. This could give us an edge in a game where virtually nothing is at stake.

i went to raleigh this week end to visit my daughter and son. my daughter is a junior at ncsu. she is involved with the student wolfpack club. in our talking about the duke game saturday she gave up the piece of the puzzle i’ve wondered about all year. she said that the guys on the basketball team hate each other. in particular the ones who started last year are mad at jj and in turn lowe. jj for getting their playing time and lowe for giving it to him. evidently this is common knowledge among the students that want to know. these guys have sabatoged this season for purly selfish reasons, and out of it have made themselves the university and us fans look foolish!!

    ^that’s just sad and disappointing.

Fenir – I don’t doubt that there’s a level of drama out there – basketball players are primadonna’s – and drama tends to follow a losing team or teams on a losing streak.

However, I find it a little hard to believe that McCauley, who signed to play w/ a different coach, would get pissed and “sabotage” a season and their future careers. I don’t doubt that there’s been friction.

I do think there may be a lack of respect out there. This happens when someone doesn’t do what they’re going to say, or if favoritism is clearly displayed when it appears unmerited.

If these problems do exist, it’s the main man’s job to diffuse the tension and to persuade the offended parties that the team needs them and it’s in their best interest to give maximum.

and its not JJ’s fault that hes the most talented player on the team. get off his jounce, Costner. Hes like the old girlfriend who gets pissed cause you started dating somebody hotter than them, and locks themselves in their room for 3 wks and does nothing but eat ice cream.

Oh Lord still talking up JJ playin in the NBA next year,if lucky cba or europe please not here .
Fenrir: if all this nonsense you are running by us by way of your daughter is true, then again would not a competent coach, staff pick up and do something about it?
From the jump and I too fell for the JJ hype …..Sid @ the Raleigh club in the beginning of the year saying how he shakes his head watching jj in practice, well I too am shacking my head still at his coaching, leadership, system and lack of any accountability.
JJ topped out against wcu look it up …..it took him 3 games recently to break double figures scoring pleaaseeeeee!
Support my school yes I do ,my daughter goes here as well I am both proud of the pack and what it has done for me but please enough of this……….
Off the point a large number of students would have been at the dook game and wanted to attend but sadly instead of keeping their dorms open a few hours longer so they could attend the game, the school closed the dorms at 12 noon ……don’t think dook, unc, wake etc would have pulled the same thing…

    hattip to RAWFS.

“Chemistry seemed to be a bit squirrelly through the year,” Fowler said.

hahaha, Fowler said “Squirrelly”!!! haha AND he didnt follow it with a recipe!

There is a reason he is called Jed.
Since he “knows basketball” why doesn’t he get off his lazy rear and give Lowe come pointers that don;t inlcude the words “golf” or “lake house”.

That is interesting Fenrir that its common knowledge to the student body that the players pretty much hate each other. I’m one of the most active members in the student wolfpack club along with 5 of my best friends. We sit in the same seats every game front row mid court. This common knowledge has not come my way any. I also met Smith’s girlfriend this weekend who said the guys come over to Smith’s and Javi’s (who are roommates) to play xbox that seems like hate to me. Has there been chemistry problems yes but to say its common knowledge that the team hates each other is just crazy.

I don’t think Smith and Javi are considered the chemistry problem.
