Pack Gets Second Exhibition Win

Sidney Lowe’s second exhibition win was a more comfortable one, with the Pack winning 87-76. Obviously, the best news of the night was that Engin Atsur played (first half only). Gavin Grant was a one-man show again, and Ben McCauley had another solid game. Brandon Costner continued to rebound well despite being rusty offensively. Fells rebounded with a solid shooting night (and Fells must be solid for NC State to have a fighting chance this season). Overall, not too bad.

Thomas is supposed to sign an LOI tomorrow. Tracy Smith is announcing his decision Monday and CJ Williams will be announcing “soon” (per Packpride).

vt: All I want to see is using and taking advantage of situations as they present themselves. Whether you can put a single label on that or not, I do not know.

The great coaches plan their offenses in order to put pressure on the opposition’s best players on both ends of the court and it’s becoming a lost art. Case in point would be baby face wearing powder blue. He was allowed to rest for half the game when we had a bench that could have taken it to him, forced him into foul trouble, and worn him down on OUR end of the court.

Getting open looks is fine, but our offense can also determine the effectiveness of the opposition’s output in more ways than just lulling them to sleep. It is up to the coach to do the game by game talent evalution, and work out offense(S) that pressure the oppostion on both ends of the court.
