Memphis Could Have Avoided This Mess

In most cases if John Calipari were to stay quiet for this long, someone might want to shove a cell phone under his nose to see if he showed any signs of life.

This is different. There can be only two reasons why he has maintained public silence for such a long period:

1) He’s seriously considering becoming the head coach at NC State, but it’s a tough decision because of the great team he’d be leaving behind;

2) He’s torturing the Memphis administration with a long wait because certain people were foolish enough to believe he couldn’t/wouldn’t leave for another job.

    I could and would coach the team. I’ve called Fowler many times but he is yet to return my phone call. I’d even share the job with hyatt

    Bad news for us rumor on the espn board from a tiger fan.

    According to Dave Woloshin (voice of the Tigers) about 15 minutes ago, he had a conversation with Cal about 2PM CST and his “educated guess is that he’s staying at Memphis”

    too many things to try and read into right now – keep the faith , if by some bad decision he doesn’t come things will get better .we’ve been used to being mediocre for several years , and thats unacceptable . the only way we are ever going to get back to glory is going through this ,if we get cal it would happen quickly , if not we may have to tough it out a little longer. so any coach we get better know they have to come in here and fire things up.dont sit on the sidelines and watch your players getting mauled and not say anything to the officials or when you do, let them have it , crawl their ass when they screw up ,the same for the players , don’t just shake your head crawl em get. some life back in here .we the fans will be behind you and never waver if you can give us that.

    educated guess??

    I agree that if JC doesn’t pan out we should hire an interim coach and test the waters again next spring
