ACC to disband the ACC basketball tournament. Annual Duke/UNC third time around game announced.
They might as well make it official. That was beyond bias. It was outright crooked. Karl Hess got his revenge.
If you don’t follow our twitter feed then you really need to check it out. SFN was ALL OVER many of the local and national media’s admittance of ACC officiating bias and incompetence today. Link to our timeline to scroll through.
Even the national media saw it. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bubblewatch
the last eight of which came without its best player, C.J. Leslie, who fouled out on a massive mistake by the NCSU coaching staff — and one that received the worst end of a universally bad officiating performance by the ACC referees
playing UNC close to the final buzzer, and getting the wrong end of a couple key calls (the refs were bad for both teams, but there’s little question NC State felt a lion’s share of the pain)

Please DY put some serious feelers out to the SEC Please!!!
ESPN (was that Seth?) was just discussing the EwNC-CH/Duke ACC finals game and what the game means to each team . . . and then someone obviously whispered in his ear SU/Duke game has not quite started. Oops. Just a horrible blatant performance from the refs today. Glad the media and other are seeing it for what it is.
Out on Twitter. Supposedly Ovies confirmed it.
Gottfried: ‘That’s a charge!’ Ref Brian Dorsey: ‘Shut your #$%^&& *** up!’”
Worst officiating I have ever seen in person. #protecttheblues
Gott wouldn’t take the bait and reem Brian the doorknob Dorsey. Pretty smart, let the NCAA committee look at the teams on court play and don’t add any off court antics that could be spun as negative.
Let’s go Noles!!
At least give me a watchable game tomorrow!
There is no way I am watching that game. I will not watch another non NCSU ACC game. If the Atlantic Coast Cabal wants to cheat, they will not have me watching it.
Howell was also fouled on the attempted last shot…we should bail out of this bull$hit league at the first good opportunity. On the bright side, there are games left to play and this team will be on a mission-Go Pack!
The ESPN boards are blowing up over how badly the game was called in the last minute. Good to see the sham is being recognized nationally.
It does not matter. The ACC will get what it wants. A third Duke UNC game for them to tout.
That was beyond ugly. I am dumbfounded. I been a pack fan a long time but to watch something beyond bias like that is unsettling. You could see Leslie pleading with the refs to call it on both ends the same. Zeller jumps across the lane crashing into Wood and with both players getting tangled up, Wood gets the foul. Then to see of all games Swofford is the ACC Network’s after game interview confirms to me that Swofford behind the ref bias. Swofford made a statement to State and the rest of the league today. I was never open to leaving the ACC but after today I would entertain it for sure. Be a crime isfState don’t make NCAAT.
“We all know we’re not gonna get easy calls”
That is the whole point. It should NOT be that way.
We got hosed by the zebras! Great game guys! We will kick a$$ in the big dance with some real refs. GO PACK! GO GOTT!
That was as bad as it could be.
Congrats to the team for a great tourney and getting us back to the dance, despite the blatant agenda of the ACC and its refs.
As bad as it gets.
The crooked officiating should not go unchallenged. I hope that there’s pressure being applied behind the scenes. One of two things needs to happen: Either Swofford and his officials are replaced, or State leaves the ACC.
It was business as usual for the terrible ACC refs. They were just bad all the way around. However, there was no foul on Howell at the end. That may be the ONLY call they got right all day.
Digger Phelps is a grade A d-bag. ESPN is all over the ACC officials. Put Digger on my permanent $hit list as well. We are locked in the NCAA but still is not good enough to make me feel better about the bed $hitting the ACC did today.
That’s the first time I’ve ever seen an injured player replaced by three refs, a chief of officials, and a conference commissioner!
GET US OUT OF THE AllCarolinaCalls NOW, DEBBIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gottfried said to the team to play through adversity like bad officiating. Whether it should or shouldn’t be that way, it is, and it’s not likely to change in the near term.
I don’t hear anybody talking about turning over our last two possessions (not counting the hail mary ending) or the complete absence of Wood’s offense or the complete absence of CJW’s offense. Those three things are more of a contributing factor to the loss than bad calls.
Still, I’m very proud of the effort. We’re going to be good next year. We’re already miles ahead of last year. We still need some end of game composure though.
We are John Adams and its the run up to the revofuckinglutionary war. All the other member schools have been placating to the league powers, and it’s time to declare our independence.

Imagine how great this team can play if they could get officiating like they call in the B10/BE.
‘Let Them Play’
@DeemsMay: Even the most subjective Carolina fans will have to admit that State got hosed. Swofford has serious issues with officiating in ACC
When that UNC homer admits it…
Lets all just hope Calvin gives us one more yr.
The Heels flopped their way to an ACC championship.
I don’t really care who wins now.
Anyone knows the refs home addresses?
.
.
I just want to send them pizzas.
Vitale just said during the Duke/FSU game: “I bet that most basketball fans will be mad if Florida State ruins the party and breaks up Duke/UNC round three.”
F**k me.
