In all seriousness, let’s thank Herb for the job he has done, and wish him best of luck with the new job.

The best thing state fans can do now is wish Herb well in his new job and move on. Our image has taken a hit (rightly so IMO) and in college sports, image can be everything.

This was the happiest possible ending. No huge buyout, no firing, no dirty laundry. Congrats Herb.

Does anyone remember the rumored celebrations at Miami Ohio when Herb left for NC State? I think there will be plenty of parties across Raleigh tonight.

Our long (Wolfpack) national nightmare is over. Good luck to Coach Sendek and thank you for your work here, but this is the best decision for both parties.

Sincere best wishes to Herb Sendek and family. And a sincere thanks to every fan who helped keep the pressure on. No way does he leave here without the atmosphere of heavy discontent.

Interested to get everyone’s thoughts on this…

…what do you believe the timeframe on a new hire will be?
…do we get worried if this thing drags out beyond 10-14 days?

    thoughts?

  19. highstick 04/01/2006 at 8:13 PM #

Fowler, don’t let the door hit you in the butt on the way out!!!!

  20. BJD95 04/01/2006 at 8:15 PM #

First to Calipari. SECOND to Barnes.

    Barnes
    Calipari
    McMillan

I wish Herb and his family good luck, good health and best wishes for his Tenure at ASU.

For the 10 million or so dollars he was paid at NCSU, I can only offer a mild thank you for his tenure, which went on too long.

  23. El Scrotcho 04/01/2006 at 8:25 PM #

I’ve given him a lot of grief, but I will certainly give him credit for leaving us in pretty good shape with a tremendous foundation for whoever follows. I think the same could have been said several years ago…but better late than never!

Thanks Herb and best of luck to you at ASU – personally I think its a match made in heaven!

I still see a major hurdle to overcome in a coaching search, i. e. Jethro Fowler. You realize his track record hasn’t been very good.

But, this is Step One, hopefully now on to Step Two. Hearing any footsteps, Chuckie???? Let’s get the football team going!

“Team Sendek” has lobbed the first cheap shot, as an analyst on CBS just said (on national tv, and I paraphrase): “Herb Sendek was upset with the treatment of the NC State fanbase over the past several days.”
