UNC player: (paraphrased) only the bank robbers who get caught get in trouble (day 90)

(picture creation credit to Plz2BStateFan)

Everyone must stop what they are doing and this video from the 3:45 mark on (before that is just a bunch of “us aganst the world” garbage) .

Anyway, you will see UNC-CH player Donte Page-Moss compare the dismissed former UNC players to bank robbers who just got caught.  You see, because if ten people rob a bank, the only one who gets in trouble is the one guy who gets caught.

I wanted to write some funny analysis/satire but no matter what I tried I just could not top his actual words.  So according to Donte the 12+ (I have honestly lost track) suspended/dismissed UNC players are just the one in ten who got caught?

If you want to see more Donte Page-Moss video, here you can see him take a cheap shot swing at Sterling Lucas after last year’s Wolfpack victory over UNC-CH.  I think Donte was suspended from their soon-to-be-vacated bowl appearance as a result of that incident.

When the recruiting violations hit, Donte may very well see the back of the paddywagon, himself. There are question marks all over this kid.

    WOW!

He’s brilliant…maybe he should be a tutor! He can at the very least inform the players who to talk to help them stay out of trouble.

  3. turfpack 10/12/2010 at 10:33 PM #

In the future how many pages will his novel be? Or what part of the Space shuttle will he use his expertist? Just wondering….and…bankrobber is the first thought to come to Donte’s mind…..hmmmmmmmmmm…..just saying.

I didn’t see those cranes moving in the background of Page-Moss’ vid.

    Everybody’s selfish, know what I’m sayin? Argh…

  8. JeremyH 10/12/2010 at 11:09 PM #

this kid thinks the problem is only that they got caught being selfish? really? the absurdity of it all

  9. Sweet jumper 10/12/2010 at 11:11 PM #

Come on Johnny Swofford, say something, anything.

  10. Cliffdaddy 10/12/2010 at 11:15 PM #

If ever there were a doubt about lack of institutional control, I’m pretty sure allowing this cat to speak to the media, under the current cirumstances, should qualify. This is certainly not the UNC media-controlling machine I grew up hating.

  11. wolfpacker 10/12/2010 at 11:22 PM #

Not getting caught, that’s the true ‘carolina way’…

    THE QUESTION IS:

How long is it going to take for the NCAA to catch the others?

As for Swofford, Karma is a _____! And yes Johnny boy, you and your entire unc fanbase deserve everything that is coming your way!

  12. blpack 10/12/2010 at 11:34 PM #

The holes have obviously got their act together with the players dealings with the media.

It makes you glad that we have guys like RW speaking to the media for us. Yes, the comments are non-inflamatory and to the point, but that is what you want if you are a fan/coach/administrator.

I think Dickie B needs to have another press conference to discuss these comments.

“UNC player: (paraphrased) only bank robbers who get caught get in trouble (day 90)”

I heard his quote played on the radio. I just laughed. They really are THAT stupid.

This is the same guy who got arrested for punching his own teammate, Hunter Furr, twice in the face his freshman year.

I knew he was a thug, but geesh… didn’t realize he was THIS stupid.

Are we supposed to believe that this guy didn’t need the services of the tutor?

  15. tjfoose1 10/13/2010 at 12:22 AM #

From here on out, every time I hear a reference to the Charles Shackleford infamous “amphibious” quote, I’m gonna come back with 10 bank robbers.

    Priceless.

  16. packof81 10/13/2010 at 1:17 AM #

Why does UNC continue to let these idiots talk to the press? Every time one of them does, he sticks his foot in his mouth.

In all fairness to Donte, he is only stating plainly what many UNC people actually believe. Namely that the only problem is they got caught. He is just stupid enough to say it to the press.

You wanna bet he is not the originator of this idea? He may have put it in his own words, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the team is being pumped full of this idea. It seems like a favorite motivation for coaches (based on players’ comments after games) is “us against the world” or “no one gave us a chance.” What we have here is the ultimate “us against the world” even if the “us” are cheaters, liars, and thugs.
I imagine it something like this: “Now everyone is against “us.” The media, ESPN, every other teams’ fans…even our own school newspaper. But not your old pal, Papa Butch! I’ve only ever defended you! Let’s rally around our fallen and disgraced brothers and show those (insert favorite expletive here) that it takes more than some witch hunt to bring down the mighty Tar Heels! Now, ask your agents to stay a safe distance from the stadium, be discreet about your mid-game phone calls, and let’s get out there and FIGHT!! NOW LET ME HEAR YOUR BATTLE CRY!!! BBBBBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!”
Knute Rockne himself would have had a tear in his eye.

    “amphibious”
    Wasn’t that Cozell?

  19. Kingfish1976 10/13/2010 at 6:57 AM #

No, Cozell’s supposed remark (which he claims he never made) was V quoting him as a SC native going to NC State because he wanted to go to school in the North.

SFN: We are deleting your comment that Shackleford made the amphibious remark in a television interview with Dick Vitale because it is factually incorrect. If you have ever told anyone this in the past then you may want to let them know that you were wrong. That never happened.

Will bank robbing be the 4th (or are we up to 5th?) branch of the investigation now? How many unsolved bank robberies are still open in the greater Chapel Hill area? I think we may have a tip for CrimeStoppers.

  21. redredred 10/13/2010 at 7:56 AM #

can’t believe they let him do that interview. I got a good belly laugh out of that.

    Thank You.

  22. Sweet jumper 10/13/2010 at 7:57 AM #

When asked why he robbed banks, Willie Sutton replied, “Because that’s where the money is.”

  23. st8family 10/13/2010 at 8:02 AM #

If Butch had any control over HIS program, he would never let that kid get in front of a camera or behind a microphone.

Wasn’t he the kid that had the NCSU gear on in his recruiting photo? I’m sure he’s a beast, but he is at the right place. He wouldn’t have lasted very long here…..

  24. Gowolves 10/13/2010 at 8:13 AM #

Kingfish1976-That quote actually came after a game in post game interviews with the local press. It went national from there. That is what I remember.

  25. Sweet jumper 10/13/2010 at 8:17 AM #

Gowolves, I remember the same. I went to the game, and I heard the famous amphibious quote on the way home on the radio during the post-game interviews.
