NC State held its second live scrimmage of Spring Practice Saturday, and based on Tom O’Brien’s comments following the action, the Wolfpack is making “strides” on both sides of the ball. As expected, Mike Glennon has continued to impress throughout the spring and Saturday afternoon proved no different. Glennon completed 17 of 28 passes for […]

Duke’s Title Driven by Experienced Top Talent
The Charlotte Observer had an interesting item in today’s paper. Unfortunately, the web version of story does not include the graphic that helps the reader visualize the magnitude of the statistic. The chart showed the rankings of the Top 20 High School players from 2006 and 2007. From 2006, only six players remain on college […]
Fowler Comments On Rumors About Lowe & His Own Job Status
The rumor mill heated up fast and red-hot this morning with whispers that NC State head coach Sidney Lowe would be relieved of his duties sometime today. It looks as though those rumors are false. According to NC State Athletic Director Lee Fowler, in an article by ESPN’s Andy Katz: “It started in the coaching […]
A not so shining moment
The second most discussed item related to Monday’s National Basketball Championship game had nothing to do with what happened on the floor of Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis — it was related to the awful new production of “One Shining Moment” with Jennifer Hudson. One year removed from having no more than 2,000 fans at its Spring Game, officials in Chapel Hill are hoping to draw as many as 20,000 for this year’s game. Being on ESPN can’t hurt, but will 20,000 Holes really make it out to Kenan Saturday to watch TJ Yates (and every other UNC QB) […]

Can Duke-Butler step into immortality? (NCAA Championship Open Thread)
We remembered 1983 on the blog and also on the message boards earlier today…so, let’s don’t disrespect 1974 before tonight’s tip. I ran across this newspaper article earlier today 6. David Thompson, N.C. State, 1974 In the national semifinals, “Skywalker†led N.C. State to a victory over UCLA, ending the Bruins’ record streak of seven […]
