The Irish-Catholics Prepare…But wait…

24:37-42 37 For just as the days of Noah were, so will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as they were in those days before the flood, eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day in which Noah entered into the ark, 39 And they did not know that judgement was coming until the flood came and took all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

A bit dramatic, sayeth ye? No my children, not at all.

As of the 11am update from the NHC, Matthew shall visit the port city of Wilmington at around 8am; Saturday morning. The spaghetti strands are compacting for a run up the I 40 and East.

We should expect an announcement by 5:00 this evening, or no later than 9:am Wednesday. I suspect that there will be no football for C-F on Saturday.

Stay tuned….

Not yet. I am waking up early and heading that way. It’s gonna be a big suck… could be worse though. Could live on the islands.

Fun is sitting in a good joint with your Babe watching the Indians go up 2-zip, Trea Turner raising hell against the Dodgers…All the while, discussing cleat length with the Weather Channel on mute.

    Wish you were here!

Sounds like a perfect conversation to me CD! I remember the UConn game in 02 I think. Military appreciation day. F-14 flyover before the game and I heard ’em but never saw them. Wet yucky day, but tomorrow is going to be a monsoon like the Cuse game in 98 if I recall the year correctly. I think I’ll take my snorkel and goggles just in case. The ark may still come in handy.

The stick is tearing the —- out of PP.

My daughter got an offer from Tennessee today. I don’t know what’s worse. Cow bell or rocky top. I think both at the same time would do me in.

    ^Congrats… she’ll get a few more offers, I’m sure…

Wind blowing pretty good down here this morning 25mph with gusts… more wind than rain…
heaviest rainfall now seems to be from Fairmont to Fayetteville to Faison…
which will mess up alot of sweet ‘taters…

    they’re calling for 50mph here for about 6 hrs tonight… only 5″ of rain…
so that means the power will probably be off … last time that happened, it was four days before it was restored…
Yes, I’m at the end of the line…

If Matthew goes ashore at Foley Beach as is now being suggested by WC as possible, that could change everything — better for some, worse for others…

    ————————

We still ain’t heard from Mr. Stick in the Gub’nor’s popo car in SC….

Mac! How you doing down there in Jawja?

    ————————
Looking North…How in the hell are we expecting to play any decent football today…
I know State turfgrass guys are the best but they GOTT no solution for 20mph gusty winds or the 3-5″ that’s gonna fall nonstop in West Rawlee between now and 3pm…..

Regardless of the final score, We all have a lot of respect for the 9,500 hardcore Wolfpackers who sit, or more likely, stand thru this one….

2pm tomorrow sounds a lot better to me if God and TV guys bless it…

Getting ready to drive two hours in the rain, sit for 3.5 hrs, in the rain and drive another two in the wind and rain. It will ALL be worth it with a victory over ND.
Good luck to every one in the path of the storm. Be generous after the storm and do not forget the poor people Haiti.

Botb, most of the taters around here came out of the ground over the last two weeks. The rain is setting in. Gonna be a frog strangler today from the forecast now. As the old salts would say, batten down the hatches.

I guess The opportunity to make some changes in todays game has come and gone. The idea of ND in Raleigh and TV were just too much to mess with? Personally, I would sit thru the pouring rain but not so much for the wife and kids!! So I have 4 available, do you think DY will reimburse me 🙂

Thanks Botb, I think the offer shattered the overall stress for her.

IMO, “anytime I answer the phone and I think it’s a millennial, I hang up. you would think they would eventually get the message” Could be wrong but that sounds like stick to me plus all the stories.

ND plus 2.5 points. What the what???

Matthew has been stalled 25-30miles SE of Charleston for the last three hours…
Winds have dropped from 100 to 75-80mph…

Charleston is flooding, but the rest of us might get it a little easier…if…

    Since it’s a “Weather Day”….

Anyone that goes anywhere in this mess is tempting fate and not thinking clearly. You are risking your life, think of your family.

    44,

I woke up this morning (in Raleigh) and listened to the local news. The TV station, where I once worked on and off for 4 years, has more reporters (with their logos) in the field and more “stringers” that will probably attend the game.

I do NOT, under any circumstances, underestimate the critical situation. BUT, for me and most Raleigh fans, going to the game is LESS risky than going to the spring Red/White games. I will point out that there were REALLY severe and close tornado warnings several years ago and they played the whole game and then cancelled the autograph session. Folks DIED after that. If I had not realized, while watching the news at the Wade Avenue Red & White Store, how bad it was, I would have driven into the path of one of the twisters. I drove immediately to my daughter’s house and listed to the TV audio of one headed towards us.

I also noted that the TV station, which has a NEW “NEWS” consultant and new graphics and new promos has added “Bumper” music. Sort of like watching a sequel to Fantasia….remember the dancing brooms. NOW, they have dramatic (with a few crashing cymbals) music to show the “power lines swaying in Roxboro”.

I will make an intelligent decision….I will also get feedback from a very liberal “ditto head” individual who is an NCSU grad with, according to him, superior intelligence and intellect. My question to him is this….IF the female presidential candidate were speaking (under HER shelter) at a high $$ Private Fundraiser today at CF and she, alone, would be under a tornado proof shelter at mid field, would HE take his entire brood there and site for 6 hours waiting for her to appear?

If he answers YES, which I suspect he would….then I, too, shall go and watch my Wolfpack. Napoleon had his advisors and “staff”, I have mine…

For the fans in the Raleigh area, as long as we are given access to the PNC and kept aprised of severe (thunder storms, lightning and tornadoes and such), then I think it will be OK….further east and further south east….don’t know.

Hopefully the stalling will reduce the amount of rainfall….and, thanks to the Rolling Stones, we DO have a brand new, engineering to drain, turf surface. THAT was part of the contract whence they last drug their aged and tortured bodied there….

    Follow-up

Here is, to me, a very HANDY thing to know if you REALLY want to understand weather.

    http://climate.ncsu.edu/cronos?station=REED&temporal=hourly

This is the URL for the CRONOS Weather Database. There are many weather stations in NC…way too many. BUT, NCSU has one up the road at their Lake Wheeler Research Farm location. I use it to see what has happened. I went to the database and found a Reedy Creek station that is very near CF. You can pull down all sorts of into. as of 8:00 this morning, the last 2 hours (the data is hourly) had about 1/4″ of rain (per hour). Wind was light (ave 6 MPH) and a gust of 17 MPH). If you scroll on down on the “request” page, you can actually get the direction….so, I’m good to go…

Can’t believe they’re going to play this game. Already 3″ of rain and under a Flash Flood warning. Probably end up with 10″, trees down, and power outages. Should be fun to watch!

As. I said , you’re not thinking clearly. Politics have nothing to do with this. You don’t know what you’re talking about.

So. Ultimately this is one of the most satisfying games of the dd era, if not the most. Certainly, the most satisfying home game.

Lots of fun today. The conditions were absolutely brutal. I have been to most of the bad weather games and for sustained misery, this took the cake.

Hopefully, this is the game that turns around the dd era.

Funny thing, I never thought I’d see the day when we would dominate a school like notre Dame in the trenches… but make no mistake about it, this game wasnt nearly as close as score.

And this brings us to the cruxt of the problem with him. He does a good job recruiting, a good job prepping his team and a relatively good job prepping our band.
