N.C. State @ Georgia Tech – 12pm

N.C. State Wolfpack (13-9, 4-5) @ Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (10-10, 1-7) – 12pm | Hank McCamish Pavilion | TV: ACC Network (WRAL locally)

GoPack preview | Georgia Tech team page

If the Pack want to salvage the season and make a run for the tourney they need to start today. We’ll see how the Pack responds after some tough losses, including a mostly embarrassing performance their last time out at home against Clemson.

Georgia Tech is coming off of a 20-point win at Miami – their first conference win. Tech has been close in most of their conference contests, but have been unable to win until putting it together against the Hurricanes. The Yellow Jackets are yet another physical, defense oriented team – the type of team that the Pack has typically struggled with this season and in the past.

Please share your thoughts.

WTH? The last score I saw was State down 4 with 19 seconds to go. Then State wins? Crazy man…

    Hey…can we bring our Fatheads?

Let me see if I can translate this one…

Are you telling us you are sitting in a bathtub Ruth your woman watching a sunset?

    Pup…

    Consider this…

As we discussed… The Team has been focusing a whole lot of time and effort on getting our BIGS to be BIG since the end of December…

    Ok..

So the BIGS now seem to ebb and flow with ABU and KW…
Today was the first game ABU has not contributed in a BIG Way for the whole game in quite a while…

Now …. Anthony, Turner and Lacey responded and picked up the slack…
I can’t remember the last game we won from the perimeter…

    Was it pretty? Hell No…
    Was it a win? Yes…

The point is … a month or so ago…
    It never would have happened…

    Everybody’s gonna talk about Anthony’s 23 points….
I want to talk about Anthony’s SEVEN assists and 45 minutes on the floor….

To Redcanine: The pressure is on, now boy.

One and one. Can you hit the front end?

    Hey…can we bring our Fatheads?

The refs are letting us play! Picking & Rolling and over the back and hand checking. I will, however, beat the shot clock.

    B.otb,

I think that his title is Assistant Student Coach, not Assistant Coach….

I marvel at his understanding of the game. The man was a life saver today. I can’t recall, but he hit, I think, two critical shots in the OT.

Gary and Tony are headed to the bus….please make sure that the fire pit is properly (according to FAA regs) sanitized after the bodily fluid extinguish technique….

    … red plays like Anya…
3 minutes – 5 fouls – sitting on the bench the rest of the game…

I don’t know Ruth, Rick. Well…I knew some Ruths.

Yeah, but that 4 hr. thing…And why are they in separate tubs?

    … check that… Assistant Student Coach…

now if our VP of FAshion… could get him to check that Alabama sweatshirt at the door without committing a NCAA impermissible benefits violation… That would be good… RED would be better…

I’m not quite as big, but yes. And after I score, I’m flexing for the crowd!

I’m not sure how much to put on Gottfried here.

All of it falls to the coach. We had this same conversation about TOB.

We have got to learn to play 2 halves! Unreal. What in the world is wrong with Turner? His play is killing us, and his shots are terrible. Hope somebody can figure out how to get his head back in the game. We need him. And Barber certainly showed more poise with his decisions today. It was ugly, but it was a win. And before we discredit GT, they have had some close losses, and did just defeat Miami by 20, prior to today. A team we lost to. Again, I will just be happy, when we play a full game. My heart can’t take much more of these close ones.

Totally agree. I meant more-so during a game – I wasn’t clear at all. And even if they stray from the plan it’s still on the coach. Cowdog had mentioned in another thread how we have individuals, and I’m wondering how much this is factoring in.

They all seem like good kids … I just wish it would come together.

Cat got the message that he must be a threat.

    Post guys let us down.

Lacey is the man. That was quite the shot. If that thing rims out I think we are a cooked goose. We have hope going forward. Must play much better though or we aren’t winning many more.

18-22 year olds respond to getting their butts worked and put on the pine if they don’t work and follow directions. Encouraged and rewarded when they do what they’re asked, and the team benefits. In place from Day 1, from the time you set foot on campus, through preseason, and into season. No such thing as good “players coaches” at this level.

    Yes…We have individuals.

That is the green gremlin from similar takes.

To be fair, though, my point was that in this day and age, it is the singular most difficult thing for a coach to eradicate in order to…well…bring order.

I thought Coach Gottfried worked his ass off today.

^^^Barber played all 45 minutes today, and still tried to run the offense throughout the 2nd half instead of forcing his own shots after going off in the first half.

7 assists, 1 turnover. Fantastic performance.

Now if we could get some inside-out working with Abu-Lacey-Turner … eh, one thing at a time I guess.

Sometimes I feel like Norman Dale, just let ’em lose with 4 on the floor. Let them learn from their mistakes. Then I think, eff that I want to see a win!

Abu has star potential, by the way. If he keeps working, imagine what he can be. Quite a talent.

KW does take some bad shots, but the thing is, he makes a bunch of them. He just has a knack for scoring.

I don’t know what is going on with Anya, but it doesn’t look good.

Credit the D for not making the final GT inbounds easy. Didn’t Georges-Hunt inbound it? Bizarre. Thought for sure they’d look for him or Jorgenson. They provided the opening and Lacey knocked the door down.
