Saturday’s NCAA Bracket and television schedule

I thought I would open a quick entry to set the stage for today’s NCAA Tournament but we’ve got plenty of updated “Wolfpack Discussion” and “NCAA Tournament Talk” availalble by clicking here, including some news on Buzz Williams’ move from Marquette to the ACC (link).

More/a>

The Round of 32 begins on Saturday with eight games, which are a bit more spread out than Thursday and Friday’s frenetic schedules. There is one bit of good news about this reduction in the number of games, you can forget about TruTV again until tomorrow, when the channel picks up the 7:45 p.m. game that airs on CBS this evening.

Yup, we would have been the exclusive national game today. /reaches for the razor blades

Tomorrow is all about Iowa State, and Coach Cal leading his Shadow Pack(tm) to the Sweet Sixteen.

The news for Iowa State is sickening – such a terrific & entertaining team from a program that has few advantages over the competition. After dropping 24 on NC Central, Georges Niang broke his foot and is out for the tournament. Of course the immediate benefactors are the cheaters.

No longer overwhelmingly so…but Iowa State still better than U*NC

Yea, that hurts. I don’t think I can stomach the Heels in the Sweet 16. Of course, after enduring Thursday night somehow, I suppose I can stomach anything.

Go Cyclones, Fightin’ Hoibergs, or whatever you call them.

Remember, there’s usually an endorphin boost that propels a team through the first game post-devastating injury. It’s next week when ISU will suffer the most.

Just curious, is anyone on “Acceptance” yet?

Personally, I’m still on “Denial”. In fact, I’m predicting a close win by the Pack today over Louisville to make it into the Sweet 16.

Half still in anger, half in acceptance.

Florida starting to pull away after a sluggish start (though I mostly watched Everton/Swansea).

While I’m still in denial, I’m going to go ahead and hold my breath that Warren comes back for his junior year, too.

This F’ing weekend can’t end soon enough. Congrats to Nick Gwiazdowski for bringing another NCAA wrestling championship to NCSU. Other than that, this has been a really bad 3-4 days for Wolfpack Nation. Nuttin’ went our way.
