Open Football (Crap Bowls and Week 16 NFL) Thread

Pac 12 looks pretty good in early action. The late action…is only of interest to those in “bowl confidence” pools (as is true with me, though I will still likely fall asleep).

Saints at Panthers is obviously the weekend’s money shot.

Does anyone have any insight on Syracuse asking for the ACC football schedule to be reviewed and ending protected rivalry games? I read Debbie’s reaction saying it will be discussed in January. I do not like the orange ass clowns, they have not been in the league a full year and looking to make changes that will not benefit State or the conference.

Colorado state pulls out a miracle win vs. Washington state…I would like to hear USC’s band for a bit but alas that is not meant to be.

Wazzu really could/should have been taking a knee. Instead, they shat the bed in spectacular fashion.

For the life of me, I can’t figure out how anyone could be into the Panthers. It must be the same as being an Eagles fan. Bland, middling, and regional.

Well, I like ’em because I’m a native Charlottean. But I don’t really follow them in an intense manner (that is saved for my lifelong favorite Broncos).

Really enjoy attending games in the BoA stadium, though. Nice venue, with awesome view of a very underrated skyline.

Dogbreath, it’s been 18 years of mind numbing insanity as a psl owner for the most part. I enjoy all the people around us. Group therapy and all. 3rd and 9. Fox either ran the ball or called a 3 yard pass route. The suffering makes the highlights better if they ever come. Hey it’s no different than being a state fan. I guess I doubled dipped with my sports teams.

Huge Panther fan here. They’ve had much more relative success than I’ve seen from Wolfpack football. Looks like they are in for a playoff run this year. Beat the Saints today and could be in store for a 2 seed.

Nice defensive stand there…thought NO had 3 in the bag.

Smith is truly hurt. Panthers need to run the ball a whole bunch to try to win this game!!

Panthers 17 – Saints 13 in a game that saved it all for the last ten minutes.

Congrats to Peyton Manning for throwing 51 TD passes in 15 games. Even better that it breaks Tom Brady’s record.

Go Packers! It’s amazing that they still control their destiny and by beating the Steelers and Bears can make the playoffs.

I’m just happy that the Ravens came out ready to play today.
Got the Pats right where they want them.
Flacco lulling them into a false of security…he didn’t get that fat contract for nothing.

Flacco signed a contract that took away all of their cap space. And for teams in the future that put the franchise player tag on their QB, they’ll be hamstrung. I am looking at you, Carolina and Washington.

I don’t know about y’all but I am sick and tired of seeing one of the Harbaugh brothers throwing a hissy fit on the sidelines when a call goes against their team.

Both of them look like a guy getting their ass kicked in an argument with their wife.

Flacco and Eli Manning: the 2 most overrated and overpaid QBs in the NFL. The average human mind is quite pathetic. Win a Super Bowl and the QB is anointed a 9 digit contract. Stupid.

^^I’m over the Harbaugh’s too, not that I was ever enamored with them. The brother vs. brother Super Bowl hype was just about more than I could take.

Seahawks pooping their own bed against AZ. Did not see that coming.

GB gets away with a squidgy call on the blocked field goal aftermath. I’ll just consider that karma for Tomlin in the field of play from a few games back 🙂

@BJD – there was talk up here on Seattle sports radio of the Seahawks not giving their all for this game, since an AZ win could affect SF’s playoff chances. SF plays ATL though, so that’s a longshot IMHO. Seems more prudent for SEA to go ahead and lock up homefield.
