State’s CWS comes into focus

NC State will play the winner of UNC-USC in Omaha on Sunday at 3pm on ESPN2. The winner of the round one match up plays the winner of UCLA-LSU on Tuesday night at 8pm. The loser of the round one game plays the loser of UCLA-LSU on Tuesday afternoon at 3pm.

I am currently in California, so I am not at home to monitor the weather. At 7:11pm last night I noticed someone saying that it was not raining in Chapel Hill and appeared clear. I’m wondering how long the weather held clear in Chapel Hill late yesterday afternoon and into the night? Ultimately, was there enough clear time for UNC and USC to play their game? Or, at least start their game?

    Pack vs Holes

    Omaha

    Be there!

Emanuel pitched in the 9th for the holes today. His regular routine has been obliterated from the relief work in the regionals and supers. I hope anyways. South Carolina certainly hit him.

What’s with all the “UNC” bs? It’s “u*nc”. All lower case, with an asterisked “u”.

Guess the cocks couldn’t penetrate the holes.

When it is all said and done on Father’s Day, I hope I get to say to my UNC friends “WHO’s YOUR DADDY?”.

Rodon will finish what he started in Durham. I believe!!

A lot of confidence considering Rodon does not have a winning record against UNC, State doesn’t have a winning record against UNC, UNC #1 seed State #8 seed, UNC at CWS 6 of last 7 years State hasn’t been in 45 years, UNC’s lineup bats in the 300s State’s in the 200s. Be worried.

^ Rodon has a losing record against UNC.

This would make a cool lead in vid for match up Sunday.

Rodan, the monster from Hell !

Actually it should only be referred to as UNC-CH. It is merely a branch campus of the UNC system. Now the people at UNC-G, UNC-W, and UNC-A may not want their diplomas devalued by that association, but it exists.

Here’s an article talking about each team in the CWS , how they got there, and their chances to do well. It had this nice line at the end (in the section on UNC – sorry, u*nc):
“They won’t play Game 1 of the CWS until Sunday afternoon, so they deserve to fall into a deep nap for a little while.
Hopefully those naps don’t include dreams of Carlos Rodon sitting on a bedside stool, chin in his palms, sheepishly grinning.
They’ll see enough of him on Sunday.”

Is it known yet who the home teams will be for the first games?

Edit: nm I read the fine print on that linked bracket more closely. As expected, cheater hill is home for the agame.
