And Swofford told Yow afterwards to go make him a sandwich.

A 1.21 Jigawatts Special Edition? What a treat.

Just got back from my morning hike and figured I’d be doing searches to do my morning reading. But as you often do, you’ve already done the work for us.

    Muchas Gracias mi amigo.

Officiating was strangely fair. Don’t get to used to it – The Dean Dome awaits.

Packalum…I was thinking the same thing. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if TV or KH were the lead officials for the next matchup. Either way, I’m enjoying all the sour grapes facebook and twitter posts from UNC fans and former players. GO PACK!!

Cannot thank you enough for this fantastic work and taking the time to share with everyone!

WRAL reporter: “Did you see how we were just.. ENGULFED.. in a sea of Wolpack fans?!?” He probably shouldn’t have tried to interview a Tar Hole right after the game…

Strickland, even in defeat, can’t show any class (not the ‘Carolina Way’?) – not nearly as much as Lorenzo’s response to him, & he’s not even from North Carolina.

And while Coach K was quick to point out the talent on the Pack squad – Roy could only bellyache about “how bad this feels… how poorly we played… I’m not into learning experiences” (as the NCAA has been discovering). I’m glad you got what has been long overdue.

I need a picture of Leslie dunking on that guy…. where can i find it?

  8. JeremyH 01/27/2013 at 1:56 PM #

Are we rooting for FSU or Miami today? I’m assuming FSU because there are not many ACC teams that can give Miami a loss and they are in first.

  9. Lumbeeindian17 01/27/2013 at 1:57 PM #

    Got it

  10. MrPlywood 01/27/2013 at 2:28 PM #

I like that the board didn’t blow up last night after the win, and that the students didn’t rush. As it should be.

  11. BJD95 01/27/2013 at 2:38 PM #

By the time it was over…relief greatly outweighed exhiliration. And yes, the officiating was great. Consistent, loose whistle. Just what we want.

To be honest, that’s what scares me the most. I don’t know how this team can win against a decent opponent with a “tight whistle” crew. Takes away oour aggressiveness, and without that we kinda suck (as you saw against Wake and when we got slack last night).

Cheer for Miami. We want them overconfident on Friday, and for the game to have maximum importance. We play better, and there will be more media attention.

Plus, want someone else to beat out Duke for first, in case we don’t.

    Interesting note on the officiating….

MD and UNC had two of the same ref’s. The third one was different.

They called 26 (memory) in the MD game and 22 in the UNC game. Average of 25 or 47 TOTAL. There were 44 fouls called by TV Teddy Valentine in the WF game.

State did not lose because of the ref’s but the ref’s were more of a factor in the WF game.

If I can put an opinion together about a Ref due to his past calls and his pentchant for noterity, then it is TIME for that Ref to be put into a witness protection program and be given a new identity.

The MD and UNC game was not the BEST officiated ACC game that I have ever seen, but at LEAST it apperared consistent and they were allowed to play.

When the NCAA rolls around, learning how to play Basketball and not how to “PLAY” the officials will be critical.

“IT FELT LIKE HISTORY IS CHANGING. It’s a least a step towards that. It’s been one-sided a lot with Duke and UNC and we’re starting to let them know that things are changing and I’m glad to be a part of that.”
    – Sir Richard Howell (emphasis mine)

  14. EdMar 01/27/2013 at 4:54 PM #

It seems to me that our players get tired or have concentration and effort lapses ( both could be due to being tired). Some how we have to get Lewis and Vanderberg a few more minutes to help out. Any way any of the walk-ons could help?

  15. Texpack 01/27/2013 at 5:04 PM #

There isn’t a team in the country that can run with us. The key to our season is going to be our half court execution and defensive consistency. I hope Lo has an 18 wheeler ready to cash his first NBA check because he is going to be unbelievable playing that game.

We need a 2-0 week. Finish the first half 7-2 and the second half will be meaningful.

  16. TLeo 01/27/2013 at 5:06 PM #

Strickland shows once more what a classless ass he is. He admits State is good team but the ass whipping they got is more the fault of them playing bad according to him. As Roy said…you got a good butt whuppin’

  17. choppack1 01/27/2013 at 5:09 PM #

    Edmar I agree.

Last night was great. This team is incredible when they defend and rebound. Lo brown is simply amazing on the break….and make no mistake, he is the straw that stirs this drink. His d sets the tone and the team follows his lead from a focus standpoint.

  18. Mike 01/27/2013 at 5:32 PM #

I am still laughing over Strickland bricking the wide open lay-up. THAT was priceless.

  19. JeremyH 01/27/2013 at 7:14 PM #

Miami is killing FSU– Miami is for real folks. You might can say NC State is a poor man’s Miami. Their guards can flat out get it (Larkin is a Siva type player), and they really pound the boards. I suppose we have a fighting chance next Saturday, since its at the ESA/RBC/PNC/whatever arena.

  20. wolfpack4ever 01/27/2013 at 7:17 PM #

    ^^ Priceless indeed!

  21. Wufpacker 01/27/2013 at 7:35 PM #

You bet your ass Miami is for real. And currently, they’ve got the mental mindset I wish we had. They’re not just looking to win, they’re looking to destroy their opponent regardless of who it might be.

Just wait ’til Reggie Johnson is back in game shape. Dude pulled down 6 boards in 7 minutes of play tonight.

We’re in deep doo doo if we don’t come out aggressive next week, Raleigh or not. Heck we might be in it regardless.

  22. Wulfpack 01/27/2013 at 8:01 PM #

Agreed. Not trying to poo poo the Tar Heel victory parade. Lord knows it was a long time coming, and we earned it. But one of my fears is that, much after the Duke win, this team gets complacent. Folks, UNC stinks. Roy said it himself. Duke may be very much overrated as well – time will tell. Miami, however, is the real deal. If we don’t bring it against them we are looking at a big loss. Again, don’t get me wrong, I am happy with the win. But I have loftier goals. I hope the boys do as well.

  23. fullmoon1 01/27/2013 at 10:39 PM #

There’s no way Reggie Johnson can run at the pace the pack played at last night.

  24. JeremyH 01/27/2013 at 10:42 PM #

That may be true, but the rest of their players are very athletic. We will have trouble staying with their guards.

  25. 61Packer 01/27/2013 at 10:50 PM #

All this talk about Miami should wait until Wednesday.
