I think the draft validates TOB and staff ability to evaluate and develop talent. Congrats to all the players, being drafted is a wonderful accomplishment.

Granted that 3 of our guys came in the 7th round, but by having 5 selected overall, we had more players drafted than:
    – Oregon
    – Florida
    – Florida State
    – Texas
    – Oklahoma State
    – Virginia Tech
    – Auburn
    – West Virginia
    – Michigan
    – Ohio St.
    – Penn St.
    – Arkansas
    – Georgia Tech
    – Southern California
    – Clemson
    – Pitt
    – TCU
    – TAMU
    – Texas Tech
    – Arizona
    – Arizona St.
    – Mizzou
    – Tennessee
    – UNC

If you count Wilson as a NC State player, we actually had 6 drafted. That’s more than LSU.

Hopefully we can start seeing some first and second rounders. That typically aligns with the elite level talent that wins championships.

This also suggests that NFL teams recognize that we develop players well. They’re willing to take late draft gambles on our players.

Finally, it suggests that we’ve had enough talent to win (potentially more than we have). It seems that we either have some other issues (e.g. depth, injuries, scheming, motivation, etc.) that have held us back.

Also shows that character counts, as UNC’s scuzzy rap staaazzz are left wondering where their next high-rollers party is coming from while our guys are showing up for camp !
