Perhaps some good news for NC State fans!?

WTVD’s Mark Armstrong just tweeted the following (Link):

Additionally, TheAliasTroll just posted the following in our comments section

Moneyline in Vegas just went from -2000 to -4500 (meaning risk $4,500 to win $100) for us to be in the field of 68. That’s an unheard of huge jump. Some insider info likely to cause a jump that big

Original Post
I predict BYU vs. Drexel and NC State vs. South Florida in Dayton. Make your picks below and we will track the “action” blow by blow at 6:00.

Additionally, SFN is all over a lot of bubble, brackets, and #ncstatebracketfacts over on our Twitter feed.

    I agree with you and Lunardi.

    BYU/Drexel, NCSU/USF.

  2. Texpack 03/11/2012 at 3:36 PM #

    BYU/South Florida

    State/Seton Hall

    The Bonnies bump State to Dayton

  3. wolfonthehill 03/11/2012 at 3:36 PM #

    Please be wrong, Mr. Palm…

  4. redwolf92 03/11/2012 at 3:37 PM #

    Palm thinks we are out now…lets hope he’s dead wrong. Cant see Seton Hall, NW, s. Florida, or Drexel jumping us.

  5. redwolf92 03/11/2012 at 3:39 PM #

    …and in a spot of unrelated good news, the Pack takes 2 of 3 from the #9 yellow jackets on the diamond

  6. SaccoV 03/11/2012 at 3:45 PM #

    Is Palm the only one who has us out?

  7. Texpack 03/11/2012 at 3:48 PM #

    This morning on the Bracket Matrix we were in 58 of 62 brackets. BYU, Seton Hall and Drexel were in worse shape at the Matrix than we were among teams that were “in.”

  8. Wulfpack 03/11/2012 at 3:52 PM #

    I can’t see how Palm would be right about us. I’m with Lunardi. We’ll see soon enough.

    You have to believe the brackets are finalized by now with OSU/MSU as the only outstanding game. Those are both obviously in as high seeds, so it should be complete.

    I’m so happy that this team is in the discussion, which VERY few people would have predicted before the season, but I’m still so frustrated about the loss yesterday…I’m hoping the committee doesn’t make a huge mistake by leaving State out. If we had won, there’s no way we’d be having this discussion.

  10. redwolf92 03/11/2012 at 4:09 PM #

    Probably just my typical Wolfpack paranoia, but am really wondering what happend with Palm. Heck, he had us as an 11 seed yesterday afternoon, and ahead of others who werent playing, but are now on his bracket. Wonder if someone is feeding him new “data”….

  11. ScottieJ2000 03/11/2012 at 4:18 PM #

    Damn Xavier…

    I don’t see how California is in. RPI of 38 is good but a SOS of 86 and no wins against Top 50. So we beat them in 2 out of 3 categories but they are in before us? They have two bad losses just like us.

    Northwestern has one great win and a SOS of 22 but nothing else.

    Virgina is just like NW with one great win and another Top 50 against us but a lower RPI of 52 and a SOS of 85.

    I think there are much more screw-able teams than us out there PLUS all that positive buzz from sports outlets has to at least help our case out. Nothing to do but wait and pray now.

    “but are now on his bracket. Wonder if someone is feeding him new “data”

    swoff offered him a bribe (I’m only partially kidding)

    “I can’t see how Palm would be right about us. I’m with Lunardi. We’ll see soon enough.”

    Lunardi got all but one right last year so lets hope he does the same without us being that one! Let’s go Pack!

  14. StateFans 03/11/2012 at 4:20 PM #

    Palm’s changes will either make him look fantastic…or really bad.

    Makes no sense for State to have been an 11/12 seed in his bracket yesterday…have played such a great game on National television vs UNC yesterday….and then get moved like that.

    A head to head comparison between State and Northwestern show State looks better than Northwestern in EVERY category.

    RPI 49 vs 63;
    Top50 1-8 vs 1-10;
    Top100 6-10 vs 5-13;
    OOCSOS 22 vs 65;
    Road/Neut 9-6 vs 7-8

  15. eas 03/11/2012 at 4:25 PM #

    No way we are not in after the showing against the Holes yesterday, along with the last 4 games. I always play worst case scenario but I just can’t see that here. We are playing great ball at the moment and a lot of people are taking notice.

    Regardless, if we don’t get in by some idiot reasoning then I will throw up in a bag and send it to Swofford. No freaking way we are NIT bound.

  16. TLeo 03/11/2012 at 4:27 PM #

    for what it’s worth, Sporting News online has us at number 45 and a 12th seed.

  17. wilmwolf80 03/11/2012 at 4:27 PM #

    St. Bonn winning should IMPROVE our chances, shouldn’t it? That’s another tourney team that we will have beaten. In years past they have said that record against tourney teams was one of the criteria. I just don’t see how losing a very close game against a no.1 seed, and then a team we beat winning a conference tourney can actually be a negative against us. If Northwestern makes it, the ONLY reason is because of the human interest story. There is nothing about their record, their stats, or the “eye test” that says they should be in the tournament.

    Offtopic, but in other sports news, Tiger Woods just left the WGC-Cadillac Championship mid-round, citing an unspecified left leg injury. Count on hearing a ton about this in sports news over the next few days.

  19. TheCOWDOG 03/11/2012 at 4:29 PM #

    I’ve got the Pack opening up on Thursday or Friday.

    No prelim necessary.

  20. Alpha Wolf 03/11/2012 at 4:30 PM #

    Hope you are right, Cowdog.

    This is going to be a very long hour.

  21. BJD95 03/11/2012 at 4:33 PM #

    As unlikely as it is for us to be left out…it’s even more unlikely that we get to bypass Dayton. So there are two “outlier” polls. The vast middle have it correct, off to Dayton we go.

  22. tvopack 03/11/2012 at 4:33 PM #

    Lunardi has Connecticut as #8 seed? Look at Cincinnati, #8 seed as well. No way in hell Uconn is the same as Cincinnati.

  23. BJD95 03/11/2012 at 4:35 PM #

    The Sparty/Buckeye game reminds me of how much I detest the bland pairing of Nantz and Kellogg. Fortunately, they always call NCAAT games involving the blues, so my exposure will be somewhat limited.

  24. ScottieJ2000 03/11/2012 at 4:37 PM #

    @wilmwolf80 In an RPI sense. Yes. But they won’t get into Top 50 and the biggest problem is now the A10 gets 4 teams in rather than 3 teams. One less bubble spot for us. I would have rather than them have loss so it keeps one more spot open for us to feel better about getting in.

  25. BJD95 03/11/2012 at 4:38 PM #

    Just put UConn opposite one of the blues in the Round of 32, so at least one of those bunches of arseholes gets eliminated asap.
