Full Madness Arroval – NCAAT Thursday

Those of you lucky enough to be off work or wise enough to have scheduled a minor medical procedure (like me)…be ready to turn on your TVs in five minutes. They won’t get any more rest today. Colorado State and Murray State will get us started. Woohoo!!

As a child it was Christmas Morning, as an adult it’s the first Thursday after the ACC Tournament!

working from home for the win!

  2. modobrew 03/15/2012 at 11:54 AM #

And Sean Miller and his wildcats lost to Bucknell….

  3. BJD95 03/15/2012 at 11:57 AM #

Yes, Christmas morning loses some of its luster once one has to pay for and clean up after it. 🙂

NCAAT opening Thursday is magical ad infinitum.

Anyone else having trouble with the feed from NCAA.com? It keeps stretching the edges of the feed on the right and bottom in weird ways. It starts out just fine, then gets wonky. Anyone else having this issue?

Tradition for me is to take off the entire ACC tourny weekend AND the NCAA 1st and 2nd round weekend. I always did it with my dad, and I intend to keep doing this as long as I’m able.

This is the absolute BEST time of year! Even better to hang with friends and fam …

As for the games, CSU was up early but Murray has since taken the lead and gained some control over the game. K State up early in an ugly game with Southern Miss.

CSU – Murray St. entertaining and intense if not high scoring.

Kansas St. – So. Miss uhhhhhh

    Mr. Wuf is your daddy!

Might as well start the Airing of Grievances … Why Cbs, et al have decided to place their Nba guys in the studios and at games is beyond me.

Nothing against Barkley, K. Smith, R. Miller & co. – but they haven’t been doing college ball at all and are all of a sudden thrust into the Ncaa tournament.

It doesn’t mesh. The studios are overcrowded and bloated. Poor Len Elmore is doing a telecast with Reggie Miller and there’s absolutely no rhythm.

Meh. Just let the college guys call it. What’s wrong with that?

woof’s link above is too good … I was rolling. They do all look like they want to murder you.

RunningRaleigh,, My experience right now: The CBS game feed is really good. Nice to have it on in the office. Compared to the awful ACC feed of the tournament last week, this is like watching the game on a movie theater screen.

Poor Lenny misses Gus. So do I. They really worked well together, despite (because of?) Their dramatically different personality.

Agreed, CSU/Murray is a quality low-scoring game. K State/S Miss is an abomination.

Regarding the mascots link, Mr. Wuf is the alpha male. He gets first shot at eating and…..other stuff. He got his so, like the honeybadger, he don’t give a f***.

And my favorite is the SLU mascot. He just looks criminally insane. Then again, if I was standing in that hallway at that moment, my expression might have been similar I suppose.

    Yeah, I <3 Gus.

I never realized how bizarre Ohio State’s mascot is. His face kind of reminds me of the Sta Puft Marshmallow man in Ghostbusters.

  15. BJD95 03/15/2012 at 1:17 PM #

It is interesting how mascot design can make a wolf look much less menacing than, say, a bluejay. Part of the paegentry that is college sports.

Mr. Wuff is the only one with a mate. You would look grim too if you hadn’t gotten any for 50 or 60 years.

Super Mario is officially a Bill. So we will never see him in the playoffs, damn it. I was giddy about last week’s rumors he might be Denver bound.

  18. BJD95 03/15/2012 at 1:39 PM #

One dude has 25 of K State’s 38 points. Wow.

  19. wolfie91 03/15/2012 at 2:15 PM #

Did Duke change the head on the Blue Devil? It looks smaller than I remember.

  20. wufpup76 03/15/2012 at 2:27 PM #

Our man Hess right there with the missed call 🙂

  21. BJD95 03/15/2012 at 2:30 PM #

I know, he’s totally the best ever, isn’t he? LMAO.

  22. TheAliasTroll 03/15/2012 at 2:32 PM #

    Which game is Hess doing?

Side note: Everybody doing SFN bracket challenge is 2/2. That’s impressive considering 83 entries.

  23. BJD95 03/15/2012 at 2:35 PM #

Wow, 83 of 83 on an 8/9? I forgot to sign up, or I would be in last (really expected Colorado State to win, Murray had reached that “so underrated they’re overrated” status – or so I surmised).

  24. BJD95 03/15/2012 at 2:37 PM #

Hess was calling K State/USM. Clear turnover should have given USM the ball under its basket with 8 seconds left, down four. Hess looked right at it, somehow gave ball back to K State.
