Pump up time! To bowl, or not to bowl?

HUGE game for the Wolfpack today! (Link) All the marbles on the line — either Tom O’Brien will go to his third bowl in five years at NC State…or he won’t. We will either have two straight winning seasons…or we won’t.

Joe Giglio sets the table for you here…but nobody did a better job of setting the historical backdrop of today’s game than our very own ‘ruffles’ in this fantastic entry. You can click herefor CFN’s take on the game; and Caulton Tudor projected a similar score (link).

The regular-season finale finds the Wolfpack (6-5, 3-4 ACC) with a lot more to gain than anyone could have guessed three or four weeks ago. It’s hard to remember that Maryland (2-9, 1-6) started the season with that impressive win over Miami. That game must seem like a million years ago to Randy Edsall. Wolfpack, 31-14.

And let’s remember, folks – this makes us 5-5 against legitimate competition. And that includes Maryland and Central Michigan.

Time to build a TOB statue

    WolftownVA81,

You should be concerned. TOB will not be fired now. No way. Our only hope is an early retirement.

    ^troll — wrong answer.

Gotta hand it to the Pack today! Could have easily folded. HUGE win for TOB. I hope to be at the bowl game as well.

Wow. I am not sure what I just saw, but way to pull out the win. The good news is that it will piss off Maryland fans now.

The idea of adding more agony to the Maryland fan base does bring a smile to my face. 🙂

Could I have been WRONG twice in one day ?? Look’s like the answer is YES.

You CANNOT beat RED from HEAD to TOE.

Did I see Debbie Yow on the sideline as time ran out laughing with TOB. Couldn’t make out exactly who the lady was.

If so, it didn’t look like the type interaction indicating any change.

Hell maybe it was Ms TOB.

    “Is Creecy our best RB?”

Yes, been saying it all year. May prove to be better than Greene too, before he’s done. Definitely better than 2010 Greene.

Congratulations to the coaching staff and the players. This was a win for the ages.

  16. TOB4PREZ 11/26/2011 at 5:00 PM #

    TOB4PREZ Beeches!!!! Marines never quit!

Also- with still paying an ex AD and an ex hoops coach, do any of you in the “FIRE TOB” crowd really think we can afford to hire a big time football coach? Really??? Ignorant much?

  17. nav 11/26/2011 at 5:00 PM #

This win would have been better if UM needed this 4game a bowl.

  18. Pack Mentality 11/26/2011 at 5:05 PM #

I hope they play in Charlotte.

  19. tjfoose1 11/26/2011 at 5:06 PM #

“And what bowl committee is feeling pumped about getting us?”

With their eyes on the fanbase, all of the ones that’ll have a chance to invite us.

Holy crap! Had to take the kid to work, stayed out to run some errands, and this happens? Wow… I guess I didn’t deserve to see it, because had just about given up all hope…

State has a long history of firing coaches after an 8 win season. Don’t worry guys, he’s out of here.

  22. tjfoose1 11/26/2011 at 5:11 PM #

TOB will be back next year. I’m still on the fence, but gotta admit, once the team got healthy, it performed.

Encouragingly, both lines played well in the 2nd half of season. Dominant at times.

Also, to TOBs credit, we had numerous unheralded youngsters make major contributions this year. I’ll take as many NR Art Norman’s as TOB can sign.

  23. tjfoose1 11/26/2011 at 5:18 PM #

Bryan redeemed himself today, and not just by his play. He earned his captain status today.

  24. Wulfpack 11/26/2011 at 5:25 PM #

TOB ain’t going anywhere, hate to break it to anyone that thinks he’s out. No way.
