Pump up time! To bowl, or not to bowl?

HUGE game for the Wolfpack today! (Link) All the marbles on the line — either Tom O’Brien will go to his third bowl in five years at NC State…or he won’t. We will either have two straight winning seasons…or we won’t.

Joe Giglio sets the table for you here…but nobody did a better job of setting the historical backdrop of today’s game than our very own ‘ruffles’ in this fantastic entry. You can click herefor CFN’s take on the game; and Caulton Tudor projected a similar score (link).

The regular-season finale finds the Wolfpack (6-5, 3-4 ACC) with a lot more to gain than anyone could have guessed three or four weeks ago. It’s hard to remember that Maryland (2-9, 1-6) started the season with that impressive win over Miami. That game must seem like a million years ago to Randy Edsall. Wolfpack, 31-14.

I hope we dominate today! I do wonder what will become of TOB if we lay an egg today. If so, will he return next season based on one great performance against Clemson or will Yow pull the trigger? We all know he is consistent at being inconsistent.

If we are bowling then I think we all know he will be back. Just curious what everyone thinks? Seemed everything went silent after the Clemson win.

Let’s just win today and go bowling!

No logical reason not to pull this one out. If we can’t this staff has unexplainable deficiencies, and must go. That said I am optimistic we will get it done today. Go Pack!

EAS. I think TOB will be back. A win today plus a bowl(win?), add to that a dominate win against Clemson, beating UNC 5 in a row. It would be hard to let TOB go. Also, injuries plaed a partial role.

What I want to see is more consistency from year to year. If next year is a repeat of this year, then maybe you make a switch. My biggest concern is recruiting. While great coaching and good players is a good mix, in order to be a consistent top 20 team, you need some of those 4 and 5 star recruits. Thoughts?

We have the talent and alot to play for but given the history of this team and our coaching staff, who can say with any certainty how it will go. Hoping for the best but wouldn’t be terribly surprised if we see the worst. Sounds bad to say, but history has shown we never know which team will show up or if they will play all 4 quarters. Would be nice to finish the season on a high note and go bowling which wouldn’t change my desire to see some coaching changes next year but I’d to see a win for the seniors. Go Wolfpack.

Also add this: TOB’s players don’t make dumb mistakes on the field. (personal fouls ala Amato’s teams)

All you need to know is that we’re playing at home. For us, there’s no place like home.

There’s no reason to lose this game. But winning games like this, especially against Maryland, is not what we do under TOB. We will lose, I’m sorry to say. If I’m wrong, feel free to beat me up after the game. I’ll happily take it!

Got to get these guys down early. We need to make sure they don’t get any hope. After losing 7 straight, we don’t want them to start thinking “end on a good note.” We want them thinking, “where’s the bus.”

    Blocking. I can’t believe I’m seeing it.

    What a big fat crap!

We all saw this coming. No surprise

There is absolutely no reason to continue playing Washington ahead of Creecy. It’s absolutely fucking killing us.

The defense is playing great, and the playcalling is excellent.

And we just fucking fumbled again. Jeebus.

  14. Manada de lobos 11/26/2011 at 1:20 PM #

    Here we go!

  15. hoop 11/26/2011 at 1:21 PM #

That’s four fumbles in the first seven minutes.

    What is the problem?

  16. BJD95 11/26/2011 at 1:21 PM #

If the defense gets disheartened, we will lose by 40. If not, we should still win this game. Dominant outside of stupid, pointless TOs.

  17. bill.onthebeach 11/26/2011 at 1:22 PM #

… three fumbles LOST in less than eight minutes, somethings in the water in CF.

  18. PoppaJohn 11/26/2011 at 1:23 PM #

    Un-freaking-believable! I can’t watch. Three fumbles already.

  19. BJD95 11/26/2011 at 1:24 PM #

I’m starting to thinl we should quit having a football program. Or hell, the entire athletic department. The other shoe always drops. Just as Amerson drops a pick six.

  20. tjfoose1 11/26/2011 at 1:25 PM #

    And you all are surprised?

  21. bill.onthebeach 11/26/2011 at 1:26 PM #

amerson is playing on the other side of field today… he will get another chance.

  22. Khan 11/26/2011 at 1:29 PM #

I told you guys. TOB can’t win the big game. He can’t do it. It’s pointless to even play this game. Forget it.

  23. Manada de lobos 11/26/2011 at 1:30 PM #

Hadamighty! What the hell is up with this team!

  24. Dogbreath 11/26/2011 at 1:32 PM #

    Bedshitting of unprecedented proportion.
