Blind Rage: T-1 Day Till UNC

If you don’t want to see blind, irrational hatred for our esteemed flagship university in the UNC School System, you may want to change the channel.  There will be no statistical breakdown of Carolina (I lost the will to write those earlier this season), but there will be a whole mess of hate speech.  Please excuse my Navy vernacular for a moment…

Carolina, who the f*ck do you think you are?  I mean, seriously?  What we have here is an institution that for years has been claiming that they are the oldest public university in the country and therefore are deserved all of the honors and prestige accompanied by such a well-established institution.  Just think about that argument for a second.  Old apparently equals prestigious.

If they are so damn prestigious, then why was NC State even founded?  Oh yeah, I forgot…

Like it or not, whether Carolina wants to admit it or not, University of North Carolina and North Carolina State University have been rivals ever since the North Carolina General Assembly, composed of a large number of UNC-CH alumni, refused to give any money to the new Land Grant college as many other states did to their respective Land Grant institutions.  It’s also worth mentioning that Land Grant funding was originally being given to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, but somehow disappeared once it came time to establish a “partner” institution. The rivalry between the Tar Heels and Wolfpack isn’t just athletics, it’s foundational to who we are. (link to original story)

Yeah, real —-ing prestigious, Tar Heels.  You, as the nation’s “oldest public university” are given cash to assist “the public”, it magically disappears, then NC State has to be founded to clean up your mess.  Yeah, that sounds like the upright “Carolina Way” we’ve all come to know and love.

Putting the academic scandal aside, just think about all the sh*t we’ve been dealing with recently from various individuals who “officially” represent the University.  More of that epic “Carolina Way” for you.  For those who haven’t been paying attention, we have two outrages this week.  The first is from quarterback Brynn Renner (BTW, this is still the dumbest name I’ve ever heard) via Twitter.

@ joshwgoodson: Renner on RW “Last 3x he’s killed us. He’s basically single-handedly beat us…he was basically the whole team”

So Renner, who has been watching our defense stop them cold the past few years (even in 2009) has the balls to say one QB was the reason for them losing contests in a row?  So you mean to tell me that the “world’s best football coach” couldn’t find a way to defeat a single 5’10” quarterback?  If Russell Wilson was “the whole team”, then that just proves exactly how poorly coaches UNC really is… because you would figure after enough seasons getting beat by the boy they would figure out how to defeat him.

On a sidenote, I think the gods of Twitter just hate UNC.  I have never seen one school have so many problems with a damn website before?  Anyway, the criticism isn’t just limited to “youthful banter between rivals”.  BJD95 already vented about Withers, but here is the quote from Carolina’s pseudo-coach just for good measure.

“When you have as many schools in this state as we have, and the recruiting base gets watered down a bit, I think the kids in this state need to know the flagship school in this state,” Withers said.

“They need to know it academically. If you look at our graduation rates, as opposed to our opponent’s this week, graduation rates for athletics, for football, you’ll see a difference. … If you look at the educational environment here, I think you’ll see a difference.” (link to original story)

What a dick.  First of all, “coach”, you didn’t even go to Carolina, you went to Appalachian, so I don’t know why the f— you think you have any room to critique the academic standards of UNC or NC State.  Second of all, in case you didn’t notice, you guys are being investigated for academic and monetary corruption as we speak.  So if you don’t have any room to talk because you didn’t go there and you don’t have any room to talk because your players are lying trash, then why do you think you have a right to keep talking?

So why are you still reading this?  I’ll tell you why…
…Because we all really, really, really hate this sorry excuse for a “flagship university” and we need to be pumped for this match-up.  This institution has a long history of being sh**bags and they continue to prove themselves to be sh**bags.  This is a call to the troops, included those such as myself that have really lost a lot of confidence in this coaching staff… I hope for this one shining moment that Tom O’Brien comes out of the tunnel and enjoys a little #TOBing as Glennon rains down completions and our defense has a stand-up/break-out performance against Carolina.

Please, NC State, if you don’t do anything else, smear Renner across the field and wipe that smirk off his face.

Please, if there is anything you want to get off your chest about UNC, let us know.  Your loving family here at SFN wants to be there to support your habbit of unadulterated hatred towards those who deserve it… the jailbirds in blue.

BJD – you need to be prepared tomorrow. They are a better team than we are this year. I think they break the streak.

If we don’t win another game this year, we gotta beat UNX with all the trash talk from the players and coach. Let’s have a game with no turnovers from us, and MG having the game of his life. Get em Pack! Make me proud!

Old Luke….I share your exact sentiments about App ( or as my english prof at WCU used to call them, UNC at Tweetsie ) and those blue bastards. I will admit that my hated for all things carolina is a lot more than for the other place.

    UnC at Tweetsie…Lol..

One of my partners in Wilmington used to call UnCW, the University of North Carolina Beside K Mart

If I am not mistaken, it was the venerable Thad Eure who eventually shot down the idea of calling NC State “UNC-R”. And he went to Chapel Hill (his dad graduated from good ol’ North Carolina A&M)–but only because he wanted to go to law school.

we beat them 32-31. Thats my final answer. After recovering an onsides kick with less than a min to go we take it down the field being down 29-31. Sade with 2 secs left in the game nails a 47 yd fg.

I’m so fired up for this game! We must win, we have to win, otherwise, those nice young men in the clean white coats are coming to take me away, Ha ha, ha ha, ha ha!!!! Just please don’t take me to Chapel Hill!!!

    Go STATE!!!

    go to hell, you smurfs!!!

AHHHHHH MAN. I’ve been reading this blog for years and I can’t think of a better post to add my first comment to.

My biggest problem with “the flagsh*t” is the arrogance fuming from Chapel Hill. You’d think they’d have some humility with the pending NCAA allegations.. but nope… obviously, the sh*t spew never ends.

My prediction: Darryl Cato-Bishop cracks Bryn Renner’s skull in the endzone for a late 4th quarter safety. “The State” wins 23-21

But UNC is not the oldest public university in the country. That’s misinformation.

To go along with the pansy #%$ blue and a sheep for a mascot, did anyone notice that the parking pass is pink for the orange county U game. And this is not the first time. I sure hope we do not get huniliated…TOB is not all that good you’all. I have been a Wolfpack Fan since the seventies and a season ticket holder thru all these years…

This is not easy to say, bur if we get coaching like we had at FSU we are doomed. Please cry out to Mike Leach or Philip Fulmer…somebody please.

  12. BJD95 11/05/2011 at 7:57 AM #

They’re mediocre this year, we’re pretty bad. We’ve beaten them with wider “scale of suck” disparities before. I’m not intimidated this year. Not one bit.

Remember that year we beat those cocksuckers 41-10 in CH? Bigger talent gap that year. Fear not. Just go out there and kick their asses raw.

Then lose to BC and MD if you want. I really don’t give a shit. This year comes down to beating UNC. Period, full stop.

    * NOTE – I’m not saying it’s ok for us to be a 5-7 team (or hell, even 7-5) at this point of O’Brien’s program. Just saying that from an emotional standpoint, today is all I care about at this point. I’m much happier if we win today then lose out, as opposed to losing today then winning out. I mean come on, who really gives a flying fuck about the Independence Bowl??

  13. tcol49er 11/05/2011 at 8:24 AM #

any good upstanding UNC Charlotte alum is 100% backing NCSU on this one. UNC’s Carolina Way means nothing more than “win at all costs.”

Can’t wait for us to drop the UNC and be U of C.

  14. redwolf87 11/05/2011 at 9:07 AM #

    Good point, as always.

This game is (as last year’s game was) set up as Good vs. Evil in every sense of the word. The team that does things right and above board versus a program that has an unjustifiable attitude of entitlement, while simulaneously cheating their ass off and getting away with it, skating away with the blessings of the powers-that-be and the great majority of the North Carolina media. Adversity? Give me a break.

Sure, this scenario has played itself out many, many times in college athletics, and it doesn’t always work out as it should (just like life), but now it’s in our backyard. Probably always has been there, but it’s more “visible” now.

I am reminded of the words of Eddie Murphy with Dan Akroyd as they are going into the commodities exchange in “Trading Places”.

    “Gotta KILL the M_____F_____s!”

  15. MattN 11/05/2011 at 9:33 AM #

I want impossibly hard hits on anything blue from the opening kick until the team walk off at the end and maybe even a few on the way to the tunnel.

I have hated all things UNC for a long while, but it has never been this strong.

Coaches, for the love of GOD get these boys fired up the instant they take the field. Run the score up. No punishment is too bad for these fargin bastages…

  16. redcanine 11/05/2011 at 9:37 AM #

It’s too late for apologies and excuses. Give UNC what they deserve…a kick in the vag.

  17. Dogbreath 11/05/2011 at 10:25 AM #

I will stand and cheer for any injuries inflicted. From my living room in CT, granted, but I will do so.

  18. PoppaJohn 11/05/2011 at 10:55 AM #

I want to see TOB spitting fire all day and the team reflecting that fire.
The talent gap scares me, but in college ball there is always hope.

Totally agree with the poster that said nobody cares about some lame “insert your product name here” bowl, we are lousy this year. THIS is what matters. Football season ends today, focus turns to hoops. (I hope Gott can coach)

Nuttin’ like SFN for the UNC game psych-up.
