  • Love the addition of “State” on the front of the uniforms just as Debbie Yow had indicated. It isn’t too big &/or gaudy…it isn’t too small and microscopic.
  • Personally, I have not changed from my preference of having some kind of stripe (or even small threading) down he side of the pants. I think that all white and/or all red pants just look to monochromatic and require some kind of contrast and stylistic upgrade.
  • Rumors persist about some kind of ‘alternative’ uniform that may incorporate a color like black.

Looks kind of like high school jerseys to me. Too plain.

A simple, clean and classy uniform. The way that it should be.
    I like it.

Mr. Sweezy is a hoss. Kuhn and Sweezy are going to get after some people this year!

  4. PackMan97 07/26/2011 at 1:05 PM #

Dang, Sweezy looks like he could break Graham like a toothpick! I like the look.

I could do either way with a bit more black/contrast, I guess I have “no opinion” on that one 🙂

Can anyone explain this Tweet from ArmstrongWTVD:

The only opinion that matters about State’s new unis is that of West Virginia’s players. #champsbowlhumor

  6. TeufelWolf 07/26/2011 at 1:21 PM #

I don’t know, maybe they’ll grow on me. I’m strangely unaffected. Is it me or are they not quite as, I don’t know, RED as last year’s? For some reason they don’t seem as RED. I’ll have to sleep on it…..Are the helmets the same?

rvde, include me in the group that is confused by that tweet. It doesn’t really make sense, nor is it humorous (as far as I can tell, and I like to think I have a pretty decent sense of humor).

    @rvde

The WVU players jokingly mocked our unis during some pregame festivities. I think there was a quick write up about it on one of the Orlando paper’s website.

  9. ncsujohnny7 07/26/2011 at 1:39 PM #

Yeah WVU mocked our jerseys, about them being adidas. Then after we beat them in the post game interview Nate Irving said “I don’t think that’s bad for a school that is sponsored by Adidas” or something to that affect.

  10. NCSU12DDR 07/26/2011 at 1:45 PM #

I can confirm what ncsujohnny7 just said. I was at the game.

  11. TeufelWolf 07/26/2011 at 1:46 PM #

“The NIKE team was talking a lot of mess,” former Jones High School standout Jarvis Williams confirmed. “They were underestimating us. We could tell that they thought they had this game in hand all week long.”

Long story short, we crushed them 23-7 in those fancy looking NIKE uniforms.

Anyone know when and where these jerseys will go on sale?

  13. TeufelWolf 07/26/2011 at 1:56 PM #

GoPack.com says that replica jerseys will be available at the student bookstore and at GoPack.com in August.

…Still haven’t made my mind up about ’em. I’m going to toss and turn all night trying to figure out if I ‘like’ them. I need to know about the away jersey, the ‘alternate’ jersey and the helmet. Then I’ll be able to make my determination.

At first glance it did not jump out at me as “now that’s what I’m talking about!” old school throwback unis was initial impression (but tighter). Having late 60’s/early 70’s flash backs…..not all bad

I’m not a big fan of black being added as a third color for stripes. If another color was going to be added, i would like to see a dark navy blue added for outlining and stripes like the Atlanta Braves and the Boston Red Sox have did. Red, White, and Blue has always been a great look and it would open up so many more designs and combinations.

I like the home unis, minus the logo on the back (never a fan of that, it’s dumb-looking)

Road uni should be white on white. We don’t need super-fancy unis.

  17. nav 07/26/2011 at 2:36 PM #

My first reaction is that they are very, very plain. Maybe it’s my monitor but they look too orangy.
Actually, I’m all for wild, close to Oregan’s uni’s. I know most State fans are really conservative but I think this draws attention and the kids love them.

  18. john of sparta 07/26/2011 at 2:43 PM #

    this is so much better.
+1 to nav. on my moniter,
    it looks like the Braves’
    ‘red’, which appears orangy,
    but maybe better in person.
    regardless, plain or not,
    this is not a ‘screw-up’
    like the RBC seats.

  19. thekind 07/26/2011 at 2:45 PM #

I love em. State across the jersey is sweeeeet. Please DO NOT go to black!
Our colors are RED and WHITE!

  20. rtpack24 07/26/2011 at 2:48 PM #

No matter the design, unis should be red and white, I have no idea when black entered the picture.

One thing I’ve decided I don’t like about the “STATE” part… when the player number is a single digit, then “STATE” is wider than the player number. When the player number is double digits, then the player number is wider than “STATE”.

Seems like “STATE” should be as wide or wider than the player numbers, no matter what number the player has.

  22. NCSU12DDR 07/26/2011 at 3:15 PM #

I dont see the point of having the Block S above the name on back. It looks all angled on TJ and looks tiny. If they really want a block S on jersey they should put it mirroring where the ACC logo on front is.

@TBK – what you are suggesting is that players with double digit numbers should have a bigger “STATE” than players with single digit numbers? This would look horrible imo.

I hope we do White top with red pants for away uniform. I personally am not a fan of the all white. Its just way too much white for me.

  23. baxter 07/26/2011 at 3:25 PM #

This is how black entered the picture:

    http://www.ncsu.edu/brand/category/color/

“Primary Color Palette – Red, white and black comprise the primary print color palette.”

Black for one game is a good idea to me, and it is an official primary color of the NCSU brand.

  24. NCSU12DDR 07/26/2011 at 3:34 PM #

I only think black would be cool if we went all out…black jersey, pants, and helmet. Red numbers and name with white outline, red strip and red block s on helmet.

I didn’t mean it that way. I meant it should be as wide as the widest player number. I don’t want “STATE” to be bigger or smaller, as needed.
