NC State earns bid to Columbia region in NCAA Baseball Tournament

1) South Carolina (45-14)
2) Stetson (41-18)
3) NC State (34-25)
4) Georgia Southern (36-24)

Wolfpack gets a #3 seed. Games start on Friday with the Wolfpack playing Stetson.

Long time Wolfpackers can’t help but choke on the ironic pain that we have to play our very own, Ray Tanner, in Columbia.

I realize it is extra salt in the wound, but I like to think of him as – Ray Tanner (4x SEC champion, current SEC champion, 2x national coach of the year, & defending national champion) to serve as a reminder that we never be so stupid to let a great coach leave.

Don’t we end up in their region like every year?

Yeah BJD, but we got to host them that one time…

LF- Technically Florida is the current SEC champion… just so we don’t OD on sodium…

Maybe they think Lee Fowler is still running things and that he wouldn’t be willing to foot the bill for traveling anywhere else but Columbia?

Tanner’s resting his pitchers and Jackie Bradley just got the cast off his hand…

Update since apparently I can’t edit. Bradley may still not be on the roster for the first round..Also, catcher has a sprained ankle, but Tanner says he’s playing even if injured.

Gamecocks were a little dinged up going into the SEC tourney and have been dodging some major injuries all year. Surprises me that they did that well, but pitching has been pretty strong. I’ve watched several games on Sportsouth, but missed most of the Vandy game the other night and didn’t watch them against Jawja at all.

Cowdog, way to go with Mt. Olive..Looked at the roster picture yesterday. That is one Big Mama pitcher they have…I’ll bet she throws a “smoking riser”!

After the weekend is over we’ll again be regretting we let the coach from Johnston County get away from us.

The more things change, the more they remain the same for NC State athletics.

Until N.C. State updates their facilities, they have their heads in the clouds thinking they will be able to get a Ray Tanner caliber type of coach

Lunatic Fringe. I don’t know if it was so stupid on our part if we couldn’t afforded him. South Carolina offered him fifteen years ago about what Avent is making now. It is smarter to not spend money you don’t have. Baseball is a non-revenue and shouldn’t be a big drain of over a million dollars on your overall athletic budget.

Don’t get me wrong, he is a very good coach
